  1. Personally, I'm glad that we'll have at least one more issue before the paid expansion that is clearly not going to be available until sometime next year. I was really afraid I16 was going to be Going Rogue and we were going to have another 8 month dry spell.
  2. Judging from the timestamps in the log, I was about 2-5 seconds too slow (we were in combat!) to pick up the character. Given the time it took me to type the response to my team (about 13 seconds from the "hey guys! I'm here" message) he was snapped up pretty quick.

The funny thing is, it didn't bother me too much. It's not like I was on a stumpy little 3 man team or anything. I just made the one comment about being too slow (Back when you had to open the SG window or type their name out I was much better at sniping people) and just continued on with the mission.
  3. Beta widow asked for this.

If anybody is interested, I built this file with the following command:
    <font class="small">Code:[/color]<hr /><pre>&lt;escaflowne/p4&gt; (38 .../City of Heroes/logs/game): grep -e '\[[STLBR]' chatlog\ 06-17-2009.txt |
    sed 's/&lt;b*g*color #......&gt;//g' &gt; ~/jubei/www/chatlog-20090617.txt</pre><hr />

Edit: split the line to make Hamster happy
  4. The good news is that I was able to catch up to the target level over the weekend, despite the blatant lack of appropriate level SF for catching up.
  5. You can't trade recipes, but you can craft it into an enhancement and store the enhancement in your base bins. The lack of recipe storage has not been a big problem for me.
  6. One big difference is that Kheldians get a huge huge boost at level 6 (squid form) and you can stay in that until the 30s easily. After that however squid form starts to be outclassed rather handily by Blasters and Lobster form is pretty much always second fiddle to a real tank. Pure human is the most powerful at 50 (especially for Warshades), but also quite difficult to play and pretty risky all around--Kheldians never get useful mez protection, even the mez protection bonus from having a Controller around is a pitiful 1 per troller. By the time you have enough to be useful (at least 3, preferably 4 or 5), it won't matter because all of the spawns will be locked down anyway.

That said, if a Warshade has someone to slap on some mez protection (even Stimulant is enough), then they can easily become godlike. Capped damage, capped RES vs. Everything, one of the most powerful self-heals in the game, self-endo recovery, an honest to God nuke, stackable pets (that don't even die when you do!!!), controls, and more.

That said, veats are amazing at higher levels too, and don't have the mez hole. I don't think they can get quite as nuts as a Warshade with mez protection, but they're still amazing, and they don't require a specific teammate to be great.
  7. I tried both on my Spines/Dark, and IMHO OG is the better power. CoF was just too expensive for what it could do, especially since mobs kept waking up thanks to Death Shroud and Quills anyway.

That said, if you could stick the Psi damage proc in Cloak of Fear, it would almost certainly be better than the knockback proc in OG (hilarious though it may be).
  8. Looks like I'm going to miss next week. That's alright, I'll just run the redside 30-35 SF to catch up.

    Wait, what's that?

    Oh, Nuts.

    Rularuu!

That said, running missions solo in the shard, a well built /SR can solo pretty much everything easily except for the Eyeball bosses. When the base bins run low, I like to take my scrapper in there and farm Kora Fruit for awhile to refill them.

I'm still annoyed that redside has no access to anything like the Kora Fruit missions. It's a lot harder to keep the bases stocked redside.

Really though, the minions and lts don't hit hard enough to be that much trouble, and I've found that it's possible to dodge the eyebeams reasonably well. The boss "blinkchomps" are pretty much impossible to dodge however. You just need some greens to counter them while you pour as much damage as you can into the boss. Luckily, they have crap for resists, and sometimes you get a Brute boss or a Wisp boss instead, which are much much easier for a /SR to deal with.
  10. I've had that happen occasionally with Elude, especially when I'm dropping down from a jump while activating it. The biggest bonus: the Whirlwind emote doesn't root, unlike the Elude animation.
  11. You know you're in trouble when you check their badges and all you see are full sets (including the epic) of a few of the AE badges (Kills, destructible objects, non-required objectives) and pretty much nothing else. Not even an exploration.

True to form, the player was a Dark defender that never once summoned a Dark Servant, used Fearsome Stare, used Howling Twilight, and it took much pleading from the team to get them to start using Tar Patch every now and again.
  12. Is OG flagged as "non-enhanceable?" If not, it seems like there would be 2 main reasons to slot it up:

    1. If you double the stun duration you could theoretically have the power whiff against a target that was already hit, and have the previous hit carry you through to the next check.

    2. When a mob wanders out of range it will keep the stun longer.
  13. That's one thing I love about Pain Dom on the MMs. You don't have to worry about blasting, the pets are out doing their own thing and you can concentrate on passing out heals instead. In defensive mode they usually won't get you in trouble either, since they'll tend to only shoot at stuff that's already shooting you. The downside is that sometimes they're a little lazy about engaging in battle, but if you give them an attack order on the first target, you can usually leave them be after that. Plus, with them in defensive mode you can be pretty aggressive about getting up in the battle and passing out heals/buffs because BG mode is wonderful for keeping MMs alive.
  14. Yeah, people were dying so fast that they had basically no chance to be healed sometimes. That's why I have the rez. It will be nice now that we're getting into the buff part of Pain dom though, a lot of times a little buffing is worth a ton of healing.
  15. I wasn't able to complete it with a PUG. Every time we got Reichman down to 10% he popped his super-unstoppable (100% resist to all damage) and healed back up to 75% or so. We'd beat him down to 10% and he'd do the same thing.

It was like fighting a LGTF with a PUG and not being able to drop Hero 1. Unfortunately, I suspect at least half of the team were powerleveled characters, because they didn't seem to really know what half of their powers did.

I'm not sure what the temp powers were supposed to do either. We used them on Reichman when we first saw him and then a few times after that. They didn't appear to have any effect except for perhaps that first time.

The AVs that surround him are buggy too. They just sit there while you pound them in the butt. They'll aggro if you beat on Reichman first and he calls out their name, but you don't have to wait for that if you don't want to.

The Arkanist is one tough cookie though. I'm guessing he has 70-80% resists to Smash/Lethal at least. It took the team forever to drop him.

Also, word of warning: the TF is chock full of orange conning EBs that like to hang out in the middle of groups. Many times our tanker would jump in the middle of what looked like an average spawn and get instantly pasted by the EB.

How are they dealing without the self heal?

    [/ QUOTE ]

I'm at the softcap with tough, passive scaling dam-res, 356% regeneration and 138.4% max HP.

While other folks are using aid self, I'm ripping someone's intestines out.

I solo pylons without aidself. I solo AVs without aidself. I stay alive in extreme challenges without aidself.

    [/ QUOTE ]

You're a much luckier man than me then. I'm also at the soft cap on DEF, and when taking on challenges like 3+ level 54 Rikti bosses, they'll land two hits within 10ish seconds of each other at least once every time. Without Aid Self I don't think I would have ever completed those challenges.
  17. More importantly, it encouraged people to create MA "farm missions" that would clog up the search window list and create "5 star cartels" in order to farm the badges. The search options in the MA suck enough as it is, there's no need to encourage people to game it.
  18. Regen Aura is a toggle for Pain doms, and it's actually pretty impressive: It seems about twice as strong as Integration on a scrapper once slotted up. They also get a PBAoE +RES +DAM toggle that looks pretty good on paper (I don't get it until 35).
  19. Team Kong might as well have been called Team Ding. Went from 24 to 27 last night and finally got the Bruiser. Also, I'm impressed by how much regen Suppress Pain puts out, even if it does inexplicably root you. It might put out more health over time than Nullify Pain, especially on brutes.

I'm also impressed by how well Sadie works as a tankhealer, leaving the pets in BG mode and spamming heals over the team. It's not something I do all of the time, but when the crap hits the fan it's nice to be able to switch and really keep the team upright.
  20. No need. You might be fighting whites for a bit but it's not a huge deal. Just don't forget to turn XP off if you're using your character outside of Isos nights.
  21. Eh, it has 9 picks to play with. 5 attacks, 3 for Stamina, although you'll have to drop one of the pools (concealment) to get it. It's not a bad place to start.
  22. Is it just me or is Ghost Widow swinging some pipe in that picture?

I've tried to figure out what that's supposed to be, but I can't think of anything. It's not her leg (you can see the left leg in approximately the same pose as the right). It's not her dress (there is no part that looks like that). It just looks like she's extremely well endowed, especially for a ghost.

    all MM LGTF

It started a bit after 4 EDT. We still pulled the last couple of AVs, just because everything was running so much that we didn't want the pets chasing them and aggroing the entire room.
