Quote:Freedom apparently runs on a server with a higher capacity. (that's what i saw people saying on the boards last time this came up anyway.)All I have to say about this: last night, Virtue was the only server that hit "red" status, even if only briefly. Freedom only hit yellow, then shortly it was back to green.
It was said that after the free server transfers, many people moved to Virtue since they couldn't find good RP'ing on other servers. So, I'd say we've got a pretty good chance of currently being the most populated. -
Heh, so far what's been said about the community being pretty accepting in general is true - In all the years playing the game I can't say I've seen any gay bashing going on (unless you take offense at the occasional "Man, that's so gay!" comment), and that's on the various servers I've played on over time.

(Very) belated Happy Birthday! I hope it was a good one!

*blinks at Unhearted* Damn that's a lot of VV pages! @.@
*continues reading while occasionally glancing at the server status page* Come on Issue 17 goodness... T.T -
*eats a slice of cake* Happy Birthday! (or anniversary in DumpleBerry's case! May you and CoH have many more happy years together!

Quote:I'm more annoyed at not getting extra pages.TWO CHARACTER SLOT "TOKENS".....TWO SLOT "TOKENS" !!!!"£$%
Bloomin cheapscates, when Villains hit as a retail we got FOUR per server, here they go giving us just TWO slot tokens.
This is the only gripe I have though at he moment.
Two slots does seem rather stingy, and pretty much worthless for those who are already on 36 on the server where all their friends play. -
CoV's SF's are designed better yes, you have to do far less zoning and have less "defeat x in zone y" filler missions.

Quote:Yep, seen that one so many times.I've seen this as well. A player will say, I miss out on everything, and we'll tell them to come on over and jump in. At which point they'll say they can't for whatever reason...helping another SG/VG out, helping friends out, farming, getting some levels.
Also the players who once they hit 50, abandon the toon and make a new one to RP. In a mod-heavy RP SG, that doesn't always work out as well (which may be why some people make multiples of their toon...which I understand completely).
Even to the point where they actually ARE online with the character and yet completely ignore everything on the VG channel and can't be bothered to drop by the base even when there's people there. -
Quote:Aren't they semi-RPing ones? I don't play blueside much so I could be wrong there.Well, Justice Guard and Hero Dawn are 2 larger groups that come to mind. Paragonian Knights is still going strong also.
As far as lore. Paragon Wiki is a good spot to start.
The Justice Girls* also come to mind, not sure how long they've been around though.
* Which I think are an "RP friendly, but definitely not required" group.
And yes, Paragon Wiki as Shecky said is your best source, along with the official website which holds nice articles about all the villain groups, history, etc... (most of which has also been copied to the Wiki IIRC.) -

Quote:That was the nice one! There was a brief one in some kind of abandoned house too, they started to fight, which eventually turned into a makeout session (with dust falling off the ceiling O.O).It was actually in the cemetary. Don't ask what the type of building is. I think mausoleum is the term.
And I know this because I watched it. For the nubile females of the teenage variety performing kicks and flips and ****.
Hence that must be ERPvP! -

Quote:The RPing VGs that use it on a weekly base disagree!
Mmmmm...rage threads...
I really am starting to see AE as a major nuisance in this game though. Seriously, since the day it came out, it has done very little good compared to how much crap it brought up.
One month from now, people will inevitably find another exploit in AE, and all developers can do is take a hammer and squash it. Rinse and repeat. It's really starting to look like whack-a-mole...
And therefore i'll defend AE to the death!
And besides, people will abuse anything that can be remotely abused - always have, always will (some do it because they think it makes them clever, others do it out of pure laziness, etc...).
I still respect the Devs for having the guts to go through with such an experimental system in an MMO. -
Quote:That IS awesome! Congratulations David!Hi all!
Since my last post about changes that have happened at Paragon Studios, we have more good news to share!
Many of you already know our artist extraordinaire, David Nakayama, and some of you have even met him in person at one or more of the conventions we have attended over the last couple of years. As a matter of fact, several players have amazing color drawings of their CoH characters thanks to Davids sketching talent.
After so much hard work and dedication, it was only a matter of time until David's accomplishments were recognized within Paragon Studios, and therefore, we are happy to announce that the studio management and Ken Morse have promoted him to the Art Lead position! We are all truly excited to see David use his new position to help push City of Heroes forward from an artistic standpoint.
Like other recently promoted members of the development team, you can expect to see David Nakayama participate in the Ask A Dev Program and other community related initiatives moving forward. He will also be with us at PAX East, representing the Art Department on our panel session entitled Re-Inventing a Super-Heroic MMO.
We just wanted to take this opportunity to pass along the good news and publicly acknowledge David Nakayama on a job well done. Congratulations, David, on your well deserved promotion to City of Heroes Art Lead!
