Just thought i'd chime in here to add my latest findings on this build. I recently spent quite a while using my most recent build planner to check out the numbers on cold domination powers. I can tell you that;

1) Ice storm and sleet have an identical recharge of 36 seconds with 2 recharges each, the third takes it down to 31 seconds...so not worth the extra slot for 5 seconds difference imho.

2) i am slotting blizard with just 3 recharges (atm) as this brings it down to a 3 min recharge...identical to heatloss with 3 recharges. Looking at the numbers it does almost as much damage as the other novas with aim to buff them, and i plan to use it with sleet and ice storm for that extra damage.

3) A second end redux on both snow storm and arctic fog dramatically increases the amount of time you can fight for (lowers end per second). This is almost as much as adding an end redux on each attack power, which depending on whether or not you intend to PvP heavily may be better or worse than an extra acc.

I don't actually know the name of the planner i'm using atm but it's way way better than my old one and lets you see your eps, total end recovery, and even work out dps on attack chains as well as telling you how long you can go before running out of end with your chosen attack chain.....really useful.

P.S. Ty Cuddles kindly for letting us know your experience with heatloss. I had planned 3 recharge, 1 acc, 2 end mod....but what you have said could well save me a whole bunch of precious slots.

BTW did try to get on roughly in time to try to get someone else to arrange it earlier, and a couple gigs of update have been trying to DL ever since

I'm afraid that i couldn't make it on tonight, as i said i might not be able to earlier. However there a half dozen leaders (now there are) of the SG and i'm suprised that none of them were on

can only apologise, but RL gets in the way sometimes, sigh.

Must admit not all that impressed with base raiding so far, i can't say as it's been much fun. It's just way too hard to defend, as we saw the last time, when you materialise in the same place everytime. What annoyed me most was that our opposition were able to see me before the loading screen finished loading, meaning they could attack me for a few seconds before i was even aware. That and the fact you have to defend for a full HOUR if the raiders can be bothered just puts the nail in it for me. I shall of course still be available in any form to help defend our base, but i'm in no hurry to set up another raid.

Seriously hun, life drain is a pretty awful power, especially if you have any self heal. I guess it can be useful to slot with acc debuff if you haven't got more of that in your secondary but i find one of the best things about dark/ is that there aren't many must-have powers, leaving the build far more flexibility for pools and additional slotting (try an ice/cold build...god my brain stil hurts from trying to sort it out).

But as you say i'd suggest getting it and trying it out, long as you have a respec handy, and make your own mind up. I have seen many people make good use of powers that most people have deemed useless (whoever said force bolt was bad obviouly hasn't PvPed someone with it, most...annoying...power...ever )

Nicely put Jon, saved me from doing it far less politely. This is our thread, and that tone isn’t welcome. We will attempt to field 12 players but if we can’t then we can’t. I’m not sure that I will be around on Weds and we are already without Spark. If we can’t make that many players then I *suggest* you simply match our numbers whatever they may be, even if this requires several events so everyone gets to take part.

On to more important matters, yay for new generator, I vote have 2 of those wonderful sappers. I shall attempt to decorate around it tonight. I’ve been informed it’s very large, so let’s hope I can balance the feng shui

Up for the respec and SF tonight for sure, despite hating respec’s it’s all prestige.

Just a note to clear up people’s questions about the alt SG and it’s purpose….we would ask that any toon that people wish to keep in the SG, but isn’t currently or going to be earning prestige or taking part in SG events like raids and the like be moved to the alt SG. This means that we can keep the SG together but have room for lots of new blood in the main SG for earning the preciousssss prestige.

At the moment i have 3 slotted stamina, which has helped immensely but obviously haven't got the slots yet to put end red in my attacks though i have it planned in my build. I actually have 2 end red in both arctic fog and Snow storm, i guess the ice blasts just cycle so fast it still chews through my endurance. As i say i have compared a lvl 40 ice/cold build on planner to my lvl 40 dark/dark and with toggles running and stamina they have identical endurance usage, it's just when i start to attack that things quickly go south

Can i ask how you slotted benumb? i was planning on 1 acc 3 recharge (i have aim and obviously infrig to open, to make sure it sticks)

Just got my ice/cold corrupter up to lvl 25 and there are a few issues i'd like to put out there for any more experienced players of this build to comment on.

Firstly i don't think i need to say what a complete end hog this build is, i've compared it directly to my lvl 40 dark/dark build and while i do a lot more damage alot faster with ice i can basically attack for like a 3rd of the time before i'm completely drained of endurance. I thought that the lvl 38 power 'heatloss' might help solve that but have you seen the recharge on this thing? Is it classed as a nuke or something as even with 3 recharge SOs it still sucks to take that long to come back (btw i have no idea how to slot it really....gone 3 recharge 3 end mod at the moment as the planner doesn't list acc)

Ok on to my next issue....Arctic fog. I love group stealth powers (a la shadow fall) and was really looking forward to getting this power, thinking it would look just like steamy mist as it's essentially the same power. Why oh why oh why does it look like a giant leafblower and make a noise like a broken hoover?

So far i've been told it looks like a giant suction cup, a leafblower and several other things i wont mention in the interests of decency. And the noise it makes whilst cool at first is starting to grate now. I know the devs want to try to pretend that the cold dom set isn't just half of the storm set with some nice extra's thrown in but come on it's fooling no-one and is the reason i chose it...so many nice powers.

Anywho thats just my thoughts so far, if theres any response to this (from someone with a lvl 40 ice/cold pls....we are a scarce build) i will post a build. I would really value the advice of somone who has figured out the right slotting for the final powers in the set.

Hi all,

The time has come again for me to make another loooong boring post about SG management (yawn), but must be done, so here goes;

Have spent quite awhile today discussing with Cold the state of the SVG in terms of membership and space. We are nearing critcal mass people and as we saw at the last base-raid we sorely need some new blood. Half our problem is with the shear numbers of alts in the SG, it's like the same 10 people on all the time with different names

Therefor we have decided that a second SVG is needed. This will be a little tricky but will happen as follows;

1) We will break all current coalition ties (they serve no purpose other than to allow other SGs to look around our base before they raid us at the moment) and cold and myself shall create another SG with our current lvl 40's Doc Flame and Calisto.

2) We wil call this DVS Elite (or some such) and coalition it with the main SG. We would ask everyone to talk in Coalition chat henceforth so it still feels like one SG. This will allow everyone going over to the new SG to access the base.

3) So who is this new SG for? (i hear you ask)...well basically it will be for lesser used alts and for people with multiple lvl 40 toons. I myself have 2 lvl 40s and a current lowbie alt and as such i will be leaving one lvl 40 in the main SG for raiding/base editing etc. along with my new alt (for prestige gathering purposes) and moving my lesser played lvl 40 (Calisto) over to the alt SG.

This should hopefully clear a lot of room in the SG allowing us to start aggressively recruiting new people to help fill our coffers (and yes that may/will involve violence hopefully).

A further problem is apparent with the number of seemingly abandoned alts in the SG. We have all created toons we have given up on relatively quickly and we would like people to remove these alts from the SG or move over to the new SG (In fact if you aren't playing the toon at all it doesn't really need to be in an SG at all )

The cut off date for removing offline members will now be 10 days offline (unless we have been informed that said person will be on holiday etc.) which should also clear some space.

The minimum lvl for placing unused alts in the alt SG (we expect it to consist mostly of lvl 40ish) will be lvl 15.

Hopefully this will solve our membership problems (come on Devs just put up the membership cap! grrrr) while still allowing those people who have contributed alot to the SG to maintain close contact in the alt SG.

phew...think thats all...any questions/suggestions/feedback are more than welcome, hope to see you all online tonight and remember.....an alt is just for fun, not for life so be ruthless with them guys.

Firstly, may i say what a challenging and frantic raid that was. Full marks to our opponents who certainly made us work for what i'm calling a 'draw'

Secondly, with regards to SG management, please remember that given the recent departure (break?) of two of our founders the SG has undergone some radical restructuring and everything is far from perfect yet, so bear with us. Alot of the ranks within the SG were reduced to base (soldier) and people have yet to be promoted to ranks that reflect thier online presence/contibutions/leadership/general fabulousness etc. This shall be amended shortly.

Thirdly, i have noticed that the rank priveledges are a bit wonky at the moment, for example with the SG SF amoungst other things and this will also be amended as soon as i get back online (in fact i may go do it now).

Fourthly, this is indeed a thread for discussion and any and all suggestions for base design/tactics/SG events and the like are more than welcome. We are still getting the hang of this raiding stuff but every raid we do helps us enormously to guage what is and isn't working in the base and the tactics we are using. We have one of the best SGs and bases on the server and is the reason why we are as of yet unbeaten
