This reminds me a lot of Blood Bowl/Dungeon Bowl. If you've never heard of the game, it is/was a combat football boardgame based in Games Workshop's Warhammer Fantasy universe. Spiked balls, dungeon teleporters, Giant teams playing against Halflings, players with illegal spells loaded into their brains ... loads of fun.

More on topic, there were always a lot of jokes about how the tournament was sponsored by Bloodweiser Beer, and about how particular star players had weird endorsement contracts.

Wish I had the books handy so I could find some good ideas for this thread... they're currently residing in a box in my parents' basement.
  2. Fabulous guide, thanks! Easy to read (in terms of both writing style and formatting), and full of useful information.
  3. Fantastic guide!

I just came back to CoH after a long absence (last played pre-I4), so I decided to pick up CoV and try a non-melee character (I used to play a Scrapper and a Tanker). Dominator is what I always wanted - a Controller that can actually kill things!

This guide was really helpful in discussing what common features the power sets have, and in explaining how the Control and Assault powers complement each other. I think I'll be rolling up a mind/energy or plant/thorns Dominator now - thanks!
  4. Sorry, I got lost on step 1, "Go." Go where?

Could someone tell me what zone Skuls are found in? Are they on Striga or something? You see, I used Winterlords to PL myself to 41 in 15 minutes, and now I don't have the slightest clue where anything is.

Also, where can I buy powerpools?
  5. PFF for Defenders/Controllers doesn't let you attack at all (unless it's been changed recently - haven't played my FF char in a while) - you can only use powers which affect yourself. Not sure if the blaster version is bugged or not, but the current behavior is at least consistent with other AT's PFF.
  6. Thanks! These have been kind of hard to find on the forums recently .... now I can just mark this as a favorite thread.

Edit: Does Blaster/Force Mastery/Temp Invuln really have cold resistance?
  7. As someone who pretty much only plays scrappers,...

    YOU GUYS ROCK.
