Amusing question...
Toy Dispenser would shoot his friend's hair with a static bolt to make it all poofy. He'd keep doing so until the person figured out to STOP DOING THAT ALL THE TIME MY GOD WOMAN IT'S INCREDIBLY BLOODY ANNOYING.
Solid Shot would be even more direct, saying "Stop that!" as he punches the person in the chest. Repitions of the annoying thing would earn more punches.
Archlich would just get up and walk away, mumbling something about 'pathetic mortals' and going to continue his research in a quieter, less annoying place.
Lord Netharak would kill the poor ******* and eat his soul. >_> Or just sit there and continue taking it if the guy happened to be more powerful than him. -
Quote:*blink* Strong language? Where? Aside from all the torture implications there's nothing in there I'd call strong language.Next chapter
I would copy and paste, but there's strong language I need to edit and frankly, I want to get to playing the game right now -

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHA XD -
I believe you know both my answer and my characters, Ess. =P

<_< Am I the only person who finds people posting normally while doing cat-like actions creepy?
Also: Damn you Essex! Now I'm actually going to have to start getting up early if I want to see you at all! Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaah! -
Quote:Aaaaaaactually, the people who are on Virtueverse generally stay on Virtue. Our old RP board involved characters from all over the servers. Which of course means that few of our characters are detailed in one place and some are not at all.Oooooooooooooon a slightly more serious note. Virtueverse and Unionverse together eh? This could be... Interesting...
So welcome to the RP-forumverse, Unionites, I think we've got enough room for all of ya. -
Joking? What? I am absolutely serious when I say I want to kill each and every one of you. And now I have even more targets!
MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! -
Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!!!!!

Kicked? Or realized a certain place was filled with rampant USI and creepy and went I TROLL U.
But in terms of USI, I'm sure you'll fit right in!

It's more the fact that you're kind of completely rude and aggressive to anyone that isn't your immediate friend. Lay off Bright and RE a bit. I don't approve of the majority of RE's standards or how the VG works, I'm not afraid to admit that; but, I'm also not afraid to step back when it doesn't directly affect me or anyone else. Do I occasionally get aggrivated at certain things on this server, especially certain tangents in the roleplay community? Yes. But it doesn't hurt me in any way, nor does it hurt you, your friends or anyone you know - or don't know. We need to be gutsy enough to have enough self-respect to show respect to others. It's not an eye for an eye, here. Vengeance and vendettas are self-serving means to a futile end.
Being mean to others gets you, them, and absoltuely everyone involved, absolutely nowhere. I'm not saying this as an attack or insult, it's just stating the fact that you need to not be so overtly disrespectful. Yes, it's better than being subtly disrespectful, but to be honest the best option is to just be good to everyone.
Moral lessons aside, seriously, it's not doing anyone any good to attack others for their life choices... let alone their ROLEPLAY choices in a video game. Why are we getting so up in arms over choices made in a game, furthermore, choices made for the sake of roleplay? I have to say that's more disappointing than any choices you can make on an MMORPG-- to mock, berate and defame others simply because one can't cope with and accept others' decisions.
In any case I'd like to politely request we hop back on-topic and stop with the flames and personal attacks. Agreeable?

Owned.
But unfortunately Penny Arcade's "Internet [censored] Theory" will remain the primary tenant of the majority of anyone here.
Note: I probably got that name wrong. But meh.
EDIT: This may or may not be relevant, but since I'm not really contributing I thought everyone would appreciate a laugh or five. Linky. -
All the extra 'u's are going to make me nerd rage so hard. >_< Annoying enough reading Warhammer 40k novels and having to wade through them.
But eh, should be interesting to see what happens when two RP communities collide. I'll make sure to bring some popcorn.
Incidentally: They're only merging FORUM servers, right? Not the actual game servers, right? -
I think I'm a bit outclassed when it comes to musical taste here, but I think Light, by the Benassi Bros would make an interesting theme song for Luminary.
Name's are similair, the lyrics are bright, the Major is kind of like Luminary. A good fit, I think.
EDIT: And heh, Recluse should get "O Fortuna." Fits his BBEG station well. -
*nods slowly*
Very good music for the end. I kind of want to see an epilogue of the aftermath from the Riktis' point of view. Cause I really don't think we've seen the last of Av'Adn.
Traditionalists vs Restructerists vs Magi, perhaps?
Looking forward to the next story, regardless. -
I feel...
...
...like it was too short.
I think you enjoy your cliff-hanger endings a little too much. You just really seem to use them after almost every single chapter and it gets old. It'd be nice to have a chapter last beyond a single clip of the movie.
Or maybe it's just been too long and I've forgotten the average length.
Kinda leaning toward the former, though. -
My opinion on said question?
/em cheer
FIGHT! FIGHT! FIGHT! FIGHT! FIGHT! -
In actuality Manticore is Nemesis.
As is Lord Recluse.
And Ghost Widow.
And the Wretch.
And Statesman.
And every single contact you ever meet.
This is why nothing ever seems to change in the City of Heroes or Villains, because we're all part of the global Nemesis Plot that nothing ever happens because if something happened Nemesis wouldn't be ruling the world any more.
He still has to act like he's losing, but overall it's worth it. -
Ack.
Guess I was just talking out of my [censored] then. I had compiled that earlier post from what I had read from other people. I myself don't even have an arc up.
Sorry about that. -

What's your highest rated arc? You ever been on the first page with hundreds of votes? Know anyone who has? If not, then you have no idea what you're talking about. When you have x number of plays and y number of tickets, it isn't hard to figure out the average rating. When "someone voted on arcname" and you get no tickets, it isn't hard to figure out what's going on. When groups are openly admitting to 1 or 0 starring arcs just to get them off the front page without ever having played them, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure it out.
My guess is that you don't have anything with more than a few dozen votes, so you haven't seen it. But hey, since I didn't write everything down as I saw it happening with my own arc (just did the math in my head, said wtf and went on my way since there's nothing I can do about it) I guess it's just maaaaaaagic.
[/ QUOTE ]
And, again, what you're saying is "No one could possibly 1-star my arc because they don't like it, therefore it's griefing."
That does not constitute proof, or even a reasonable assumption.
but whatever floats your boat, guy.
[/ QUOTE ]
You're missing his point. If someone played his arc through, he'd get tickets for the play-through. If that person then voted a 1 or 0-star for his arc then that'd be a difference in opinion.
But when someone doesn't even play the arc, but still votes a 1 or 0-star then that's griefing. And the author can tell when his arc is or is not getting played by the number of tickets he can collect from the MA guy. -
I've got something MA related...
Any of you guys following this thread have any heroes or villains that lived through (or died during) the First Rikti Invasion? If so I might like to borrow your character for an arc I'm planning.
Toss me a tell if you're interested, no need cluttering things up with back and forths. -
*cackles* Good show! This looks to be a lot more interesting than a fight with the Honoree!
The picture was very good too, though it reminded me a lot of the new Dark Templar from Starcraft 2. Who drew it? -

Gone for another week and nothing to read yet. For shame. -
OOC: Archlich didn't emanate kinetic energy... He sucked up the energy, transmuted it to magic, and then used energy blast's Nova power, with the energy being pure magic, Archlich's gimic. But hey, I can roll with this.
BIC: Archlich was hit by the whips several times, blue light flashing in actinc flares off his armor, pushed back along the ground.
"Yes, I think you are," Archlich finally replied as his eyes pulsed briefly.
The energy Archlich had released and the Lightning Blade reabsorbed had been marked by him. Such was his mastery over the forces of magic that he could impress his will upon it at the most basic of levels. Anything he cast or made was his in a way no other mage could duplicate and he could make magic itself dance to his tune with the correct amount of will and effort.
Such it was that the energy the Blade absorbed turned in upon itself and corrupted his runes. Pain suffused his entire being as the magic burned within him and his limbs began moving with leaden slowness as the runes began acting counter to their normal purpose. Teivos' bodyguard found an easy target, as the Blade had to use up the corrupted magic before he could successfully channel pure magic into his runes. While he could still use Yinglong's power to cast his spells, they would avail him little as Teivos' troops cut him down before turning their attentions toward the other two.
"What a fool," remarked Archlich a second or two after the Blade died, turning to Teivos. "Have your men finish quickly. I am in no danger of death, but my destruction would surely follow yours and both would be entirely inconvenient."
Glancing up at the massive dragon still floating in the air, he cursed in an unknown tongue and turned his attention on the held spirit.
"Continue holding that shade, gryphon," ordered the lich as he walked toward it. "I require it to be still so that I am draw its lifeforce into myself."

Toy Dispenser turned from the view and looked at Zeo with a tilted head, his wrists glowing brighter as they reinforced the field.
"Impressive," he said. "I had not expected you to be able to do such a thing. But how long can you keep it up, I wonder."
Straightening, he stepped around the field to stand in front of Isabel. He regarded her silently for a moment before Combat Toy stepped up to her side, reaching around her back to grip the dampening handcuffs, a cord extending from his wrist to transfer power into them. It was inefficient, but CT had power to spare and they weren't much further from the prison block.
"You as well," Dispenser said. "I am not sure how you are draining the cuffs, but I would suggest you quit wasting your effort. Every technological device in this building is mine to observe and wield as I see fit. Do not try my patience and I shall see to it that you and your draconian ally are in place to strike Teivos this evening."
"Once he finishes with the uppity slant-eyes, that is," grunted Combat Toy. -
"Hostility: Expected," Cher'tak remarked to Arek before Pax's report came in and the draconian bounded off.
Thinking that the alien, however non-human he appeared, would have been able to question the captives more effectively than he could, Cher'tak questioned his choice of actions, but couldn't do anything about it. Arek was already gone and he certainly couldn't leave the hostages alone with these villains.
"Not all Rikti: Villains," the Warmaster said as he stepped over to the cage, ignoring Rose. He tapped the Vanguard symbol on his chest plate and looked the people over, recognizing several of the heroes. While he talked, he mentally directed his suit to interface with the city's records, comparing the unknown faces to hero and known villain IDs.
"Name: Cher'tak," he began. "Myself, others: Mission: Rescue yourselves, others: From: Unknown attackers. Query: Your names, aliases. Additionally: Memories: Kidnappers, time: captured."
Hopefully they wouldn't refuse to talk to him on principle. -
The sudden appearance of one of the giant shipping crates in front of him startled Cher'tak, but he was quick to follow Arek's example. Dropping his sword, he rammed his shoulder against the crate and braced as best he could, only skidding back a couple of inches after the enemies detonated.
"Health: Nominal: Captives: Intact," he said after a few moments had passed, slinging his bladerifle back over his shoulder and moving to confirm that the hostages were fine, the blast having been prevented from reaching them.
Stepping around the crate, Cher'tak moved to where the van had been, looking out through the hole it had torn in the door before turning to Rose and the other villains left in the warehouse.
"Explanation: Required: Presence," he said, pointing at Rose with his shield arm. "Normal response: Withheld: Unsatisfactory explanation." -
A brief flicker of dull blue light reflected off the ground as Vlasta avoided the Lightning Blade's first blow. A boney hand reached out past the trio of clashing swords and clenched tightly, as if grabbing something. Abruptly the Lightning Blade's speed and power dropped to normal levels as the kinetic energy granted him vanished, torn away by the armored skeleton at his feet.
"Your song will be sung by your next of kin," spat out the lich, his eyes blazing.
Opening his hand, Archlich released the energy, using it to power a spell bound to his armor. A nebulous blue light shot out from him in a wave in all directions, passing harmlessly through Teivos, War, Griffin, and Famine, but blasting the ground around them clean of debris and the Lightning Blade with a force equivilent to a point blank tank shell.
**************************
The plasma Zeo breathed sliced through the ice as easily as breathing, but the detention field absorbed and disapated the energy in a muted flash of light and a fluid-like ripple over the surface of the bubble. Toy Dispenser's wrists glowed slightly as if in sympathy and he moved back to the field, looking at Zeo through it.
"I had been wondering if you were actually incapacitated," he said, voice crackling. "It is good that you aren't, questioning you would have been difficult. Waste as much energy as you wish, you cannot escape my detention field."
"And we've got even better [censored] at the home base," chortled Combat Toy before it stomped over to the exit ramp, still holding Isabel in one hand. "You ain't ever getting out of there."
"Speaking of..." remarked Toy Bot, pushing itself up from its crouch to scuttle over next to Combat Toy. "We have arrived."
"tátna Zbrojovka has okayed our landing, General," crackled the pilot's voice over the Molvia's intercom. "They have medics on-station to pick up the wounded."
"Acknowledged," Dispenser replied, crossing his arms as the large helicopter drifted to the ground, thumping lightly as it landed.
Almost as soon as it touched down, the rear ramp was lowering and men wearing uniforms with the red cross on them were hopping in, flowing around the robots like a stream around breakers to get at the dozen or so wounded men that had also been on board. After the initial rush had passed, Combat Toy moved out, leading the way with the other five drones, Toy Dispenser, and Zeo in his floating detention field following behind.
Stretched out on the runway before the group was a small army, or at least a sizeable portion of one. A company or two of tanks and at least a couple battalions of infantry were assembled in the half-light of dusk, waiting to board the flight of Molvias and fly off to assist their Sovereign. As the group walked, the loading looked to be proceeding smoothly, infantry filing into the holds followed by a light tank. Once a flight of copters was full, they lifted off and took to the sky, joining the formation of other helicopters drifting in neat ranks up above. Several new Molvias swept down to replace the full ones and the process began again.
"Commander," stated Toy Dispenser as his group neared an approaching squad of armed men surrounding a Caldok with much higher rank badges than anyone else in sight.
"Generál Dispenser," the alien returned, nodding as he paused and then fell in step with the android, his men taking up guard positions around everyone as they kept moving.
"Kind of you to come and welcome me back personally, Hzerg," added Dispenser, turning to look at the slightly shorter alien. "I assume everything here is under control?"
"Embarking is proceeding smoothly, Generál," replied Commander Hzerg, glancing toward the ranks of men. "The vanguard is ready to deploy immidiately and the rest of the battalions will be ready to move with half an hour."
The group was now nearing their destination, a massive semi-cylindrical building (about a fourth of the complete cylinder was missing) bristling with satellite dishes and antennae. Aside from the armed guards and turrets surrounding it it could almost be mistaken for a typical office building back in Paragon City.
"Well done. Keep the ground troops in reserve at the moment but commit the air superiority craft," Dispenser ordered as they came up to the front doors, bullet-proof glass sliding open at their approach and a pair of men saluting the group as they exit. "Warn them they will be heading into potentially the worst turbulence they will ever encounter."
Hzerg nodded and stood to one side as Toy Dispenser and his drones filed onto a large elevator, Isabel and Zeo placed near the back.
"How long will you be remaining, Generál?"
"Until the Dark Soveriegn returns. In the mean time I shall question these prisoners."
The Caldok saluted once more before the doors slid shut and the elevator began rumbling up and up and up.
OOC: I probably made a mess of Devious' army with that, but ah well. It looked cool.
EDIT: Anything made out of materials not found in nature is degrading back to its constituent components. Alloyed metals are melting and seperating, artificial fabrics are dissolving, concrete is turning into gravel and muck. That's how I understood it working. Archlich's mere presence emits a form of stabilizing influence, so PC equipment will degrade much slower near to him.
