Same thing can be said about people using the AE power level farms, TF's, Mothership raids, the old sewer runs, and begging for PL teams in PI.
The DfB is simply the newest flavor of the month to be run. In a few months interest will drop off just like it has with everything else and people will return to their old favorites or whatever the new fotm is. -
On the vahz badge there is always someone who pops off an aoe or a cone and kills a minion. Its really not worth getting your panties in a bunch over, as sewer runs happen ALOT and you will definitely get the badge sooner or later.
As far as the OPs experience with the bickering idiots, its good to identify those kind of tools early on so you know now to team up with them later on something that requires solid team work. -

Hey folks, I am running earth/emp and am now lvl 22.
I went on a positron tf, got exemplared down to 16, and I can't land anything reliably on mobs higher than orange. Most of the mobs were orange and red, some purple, and I felt beyond useless. Basically just caging the whites and spamming heals.
What can i do to make my control powers actually land?
Right now I am slotting lvl 25 acc DOs, with a couple set pieces. basically 1 set piece per control power as I am not filthy rich and have been away from the game since way back when people were terrified they were going to merge the markets for red and blue. So I am halfway clueless. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. -

Ok I am far from a noob, and have been playing mmos since they were text based, but what is this mal I keep hearing? mal off, mal down? I am unfamiliar with that term.

Hey thanks for all the advice folks. I am going to go with Beam/Sonic and see how that goes.
Edit: I went with Beam/Rad, running with my gf who is Claws/Elec on the preatoria side. Loving it so far. -
I have never tried storm, I think when the servers are back up I will make a beam/storm and give it a go.

I am currently playing a beam/pain corr, mostly because I wanted to have an "oh Crap" option when low on health. I have put very little into pain. So far I am loving the beam rifle, but I feel there must be something much better I could pair it with.
My playstyle is doing fair/good damage and supporting my team, I almost always take leadership pool powers. Its been a long time since I played CoH and I am very out of the loop on all they great new power sets, so any info at all would be a great help. ALSO I never much cared for corruptors, but apparently my tastes have changed in my years away.

Im not possitive how to post my build but for now i think i fall into the crab huntsman hybrid, i dropped the frag grenades to be more group friendly (i group most of the time) and i know the knockback can be terribly annoying to melee characters. Other wise i have both pets that i can get and most of the group buffs.
I havnt tried soloing since i got 39 so it might be easier with my pets now. In groups it works just fine, i might just skip the solo part of the character an save that for other characters. Most of the time i get pretty bored soloing anyway
