  1. Sort of bumping this. My fire/fire tanker was my main from prior to issue-1 through when I left the game just after issue-7. Since coming back, she is in a sad place, so I will need to rework her. This thread has some good info, but wasnt it mentioned some time ago that the Devs were going to look over the fire defense set, has anything been talked about since then? At this point I am still stunned how this set has been shafted over the years. I could swallow having minimal def/resist (when compared to other tankers) do to the massive offense Burn offered (pre-nerf) but something needs to be done to bring everything back inline.

    If anyone has some new builds please post them.

  2. Been looking over several builds, at this point going to move toward a general build with focus on recharge/recovery. Damage output will be a secondary focus. Slotting will lean toward making the holds and slows as effective as possible. So B-gaze(4)/Lockdown(2) in the Rays. Thanks for the advice.

  3. I know this is unrelated to the thread, but could you explain how the merit system works? I have been away from the game pretty much since issue 7. Havent really gotten a good explanation on the merit system.

  5. Thanks for the information, finally have my ill/rad up and running again, 350 million influ later, but lacking a few big ticket enhancements still. No Luck of the Gamblers yet.
  6. ok been mulling it over....think I will go the all too popular S/L cap route. Still cant find a good ice/en build around. I like power boost, dont care for extended range. Sort of tirn between aim and buildup, will prob take both. My blaster was Ice/En/Elec, but could change the epic. Am currently using fitness/leaping/steath/speed pools. Guess I could drop stealth for fighting, and turn this toon into a cross between a controler and scrapper. Bone smasher and Total Focus are must haves. If anyone cares to toss up a mids build just for a ref point, I would be greatful.

  7. been searching the forums, wiki and even google...seems Ice/En isnt too popular, they were a dime a dozen back in the day, best toggle popper. I have redone my Ill/rad controler and Invul/fire tank, but cant seem to figure out what to do with the blaster. Most of the posts are all about capping S/L, but I cant find a reason for a build like that for pve team play. Guess my build will lean toward max damage, with secondary focus on Rech/Recovery.
  8. Hello, been away from the game for a bit, but getting back into it. Need some help with my Ice/Energy blaster. He used to be one of my pvp toons, has an early post-ED build.

    I am not looking to pvp anytime soon. Just need an up to date build with IO's for both solo and team, just a general mission/TF stuff. Not looking to slot purples, but have 150-200 million to spend, and I have some hamis aswell.

    Well, there are a few details you need to include. How much of the leadership pool do you want to take? Assault? Probably. Maneuvers? Maybe. Tactics? Most likely. Vengence? Depends. Next, what powers are you willing to give up to fit in 2-4 leadership powers? I have seen several Illusion builds recently who skipped Spectral Wounds -- personally I think that is crazy, as you are losing out on a significant source of damage. Flash? EM Pulse?

    Let us know what you want out of Leadership and what you are willing to give up to get it. Then the question becomes, "What do you want out of this build?" When building an IO build, you generally want to build towards one attribute or another as your primary goal. The Perma-PA build needs Recharge. You can build for Defense. You can build for Recovery or Regen. Or you can use IOs to create a generally effective build by getting great slotting for the powers you have and not worrying about set bonuses.

    A little more direction, and we'll see what we can do.

    I stated in my original post that I wanted to keep Assult and Tactics. I know previously, taking those 2 powers allowed the slotting of other powers to go further.

    powers I dont care for are, Deceive/SI/choking cloud/Fallout/EM pulse, at different times I have had most of these skills, just didnt fit my play style, though I did like EM-P, being End drained lead to dead teammates, seems I cover the healing quite often!

    Using Mid's I have come up with a couple builds, but I am not sure on slotting do to IO's/sets. I am looking for my ill/rad to mimic how it was prior to E.D., so close to perma hasten, close to perma PA. Responible END recovery.

    Not sure what else you could want for info.

  11. Ok, long story short...

    I stepped away from the game just after Issue-7, stopped back by from time to time to give away Influ on X-mas, but just started playing again on a regular basis a couple weeks ago. I have 2 L50 ill/rads. Looking for some help with an up to date build for one of them. I have been looking over all the builds people were nice enough to post, but seems no one takes Leadership pool anymore, it is something I would like to include in my build. DL'd Mid's Hero Designer and been playing with builds on there, but I am not on top of all the IO sets/bonuses.

    Can anyone post a build using Flight(hover-Fly)/Speed(hasten)/Leadership/Fitness pools, and Fire APP?
    looking for what changes people would make with Assult and Tactics in the mix.

    I have about 500 mill to work with, but also have about a character and half worth of HO's, back in issue 6 one of my ill/rads was head to toe in Hami's and had some spares on my ice/en blaster.
  12. Ok i have been sitting back now looking over the ED situation, and thinking about how this REDUCED END cost per power will work, and well IT DOESNT. The only way to make up for nerfing of enhancements would something like a 50% cut to END cost of all powers, OR a 25-50%increase base END regen of Stamina. This company refuses to BUFF up anything any more, its all about reducing, reducing, reducing, nerf, nerf, nerf. Am i a DOOM sayer, i think not, i try to come at each change with an open mind, after issue 5 made my invul tank into TISSUE PAPAER, i reworked him, he survives, but is little more then a shiney meat shield.
    The End Discount at 13.33% is nothing, my fire tank runs with anywhere from 7-10 toggles going depending on the situation, even with current STAMINA, conserve, and consume, i still run into END issues. I plan to make a post on the Enhancement Diversifaction thread as well, so i wont get into those thoughts yet. I am losing faith in this game and the people who run it, i doubt my 30 dollars a month will really be missed, but oh well, it was fun for a year.
