Adding the server name would be really great if at all possible...

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yes, yes, please Server name would be a great addition.
  2. Ok I made a torrent for the video . This is the first .torrent I tried to make... so I didn't had the time to install a tracker, and used Azureus built-in tracker.

Please tell me if it is working

It is hosted on my machine and it will be up for 3 hours. Hopefully people can grab it

    Blaster Damage

    States,

    [ QUOTE ]
I did forget to add that the ranged attacks of mobs deal less damage (typically) than melee attacks

    [/ QUOTE ]

Still high enough to take most blaster builds down faster than scrappers'. Less HP, no defenses... A melee attack deals more damage than ranged attacks, ok. In my experience, if a blaster and a scrapper facing mobs don't attack, a white minion will kill a blaster at the same time it takes 5 or 7 to take a scrapper down.

So blasters take (in plain numbers) XX% less damage from attacks, but mitigate or avoid MUCH less than scrappers. So the whole "melee is more dangerous" isn't very true, IMHO (ok, excepting when facing mobs with AoE attacks and a tanker).

    [ QUOTE ]
Their damage potential does not compensate for their low hit points.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Blasters potential doesn't compensate their presence on a team. Picking on Defenders, say, you can do 25% more damage, but Defenders can give the team lots of endurance and healh and damage, or floored accuracy, or all of that, and many more.

    Blasters do damage.

Someone (hint hint) should run some numbers on how much XP a tanker/controller/scrapper, post +35, can earn with a blaster on the team and then swap for a defender.

Then throw these numbers out of the window and see what team had more fun

I'm guessing that Accuracy will be nerfed.

    [/ QUOTE ]

And Stamina won't work like it used, too. Specially if stacked with Quick Recovery!

Portal technology has been around for years, it was possible even back when half-life was was starting to get more heavily modified. The technology was widely used with Half-Life2 as well where a polygon surface essentially behaved like the viewport for a camera and basically rendered things in the world twice.

    [/ QUOTE ]

From what I read on game magazines, and looks like you know this stuff better than I do , DOOM III and Half-Life were one of the first engines to support "real-time" video on a screen of something happening in another place.

Framed videos were pre-rendered, and presented that way. I remember that I read opinions on some HL2 demos and several of the comments were about the Source engine being able to show multiple view-cameras from the player... I would have to dig the URL for the demo, but it was one where the player entered a place like a cave, a corridor, with a river on his feet, and there was also some flames in a spot, showcasing shadows and reflections etc...

Realtime "video inside video" might be too hard, like the TV idea, but full-screen isn't.... er... right?

I am just a casual follower of the game development
  6. ctrl as default sounds good to me.

Could we also make bigger trays? With 10, 11, 12... powers? If I could change its horizontal size it would help too (not sure if it can't be done right now).
  7. Putting in game terms, after a while, your sim loses family friends if he (or she) doesn't go "social" with them.

Your friends and family are saying that they miss you. Now, you might have went through a lot of things on your life. But I bet you have never drinked Caipirinha in a sunny beach in Brazil, with 3 ladies (or men) on your feet.

Not that I have.... but I should...
  8. [ QUOTE ]
the problem is that the more members you have in your group

    [/ QUOTE ]

But Statesman! The diversity that you find while hunting with eigth people is fun! Having a full team and changing tactics while the team morphs is amazing!

More people together == More fun! IMHO.

How about some zones made for teams with more than 5 people that don't envolve time commitement? A TF lasts about 6 hours, that's too much time.

How about a place where, the more people you have, the better, but the team can be dynamic? One person go, another enters, and you chat, laugh, have a good time? The more the better!

    Tanker Update

    [ QUOTE ]
According to UnholyS ... Scrappers are all gimped compared to tanks and tanks are uber gods and powerhouses

    [/ QUOTE ]

Sincerely I didn't read this way. IMHO he thinks everyone reads the forum and understand what it has to be done to make a good toon.

But things are a little different in the wild. There are people who choose Ice/SS because it was an interesting concept, or it reminds them of their favorite comic book character.

Let's return to reality here, and quit with the pathetic exaggerations.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Pathetic exaggerations? It's called figure of speech!

Bleh, I am done with you, EOD on this side. Troll away

    Tanker Update

    [ QUOTE ]
With the exception of a few particular Tanker secondaries, which I agree are "broken", this is not an accurate statement.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Hummm no? In game, I see Scrappers with enough defense to tank +2/3, while tankers most of the time can't even kill white con mobs.

Yeah, I know, Burn tankers. But like you said, specific build. You take any scrapper secondary (except DA, which is about to change anyway), put a dozen slots and you have your tanker. Tankers have more secondary options... so the random chance that a player picked one, hummm... inferior secondary is greater.

    Tanker Update

But time you spend Taunting or attacking at range is time not spent doing melee attacks to maintain aggro.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    But doesn't Taunt maintain aggro?
  13. If you put your head into your right shoulder (because the devs are *lefties*) you can see the letter "I" and then the number "2", which could read as I 2 (Me too)... followed by a comma, a thumbs down, and a snake.

    So, Positron wrote:

    Me too, don't appreciate snakes.

Snakes can poison their victims, and they are just generally considered a dangerous animal. If you understand the context where Positron wrote (take all the 'LFT" messages out), what is mentioned is, RL, the Real Life. So, whatever Positron wrote, is related to the RL conversation above.

We can only conclude that Positron think that Real Life is a poison, and there's only one salvation: To play the game.

It is either that or sneezed while datamining and hit a dev special button on the debugging software.
