  1. Thanks a lot guys. Every one of them might not be home runs, but they're at least 'base hits'.

Ah, did I mention that I'm now up to FIFTEEN!?!?!

Man, how big is this SG anyways???
  2. Yeah, I noticed the date is off.

    Silly me,always behind the times.

  4. a little cluttered.. but cool nonetheless.
  5. Glad things are looking (even if slightly) up for ya mate.

Also glad you've got those fine pieces of art hanging in your gallery.
  6. Going to have the cut off for sign up at about the 20th of this month. That way, I can make the 'ultra-cool battle ranking page'!!
  7. Heck, you might get eliminated in the first round... so maybe it wouldn't be a problem.

    lmao

Another not-CoH piece, but I figure most people here will appreciate general game fanart. Plus, I know LJ and I were talking about Illustrator a week or so ago, so it's only fair I prove that I *do* sometimes use it, as I have here:

Cool piece - makes me want to check out the game.

  10. So, we're nearing on a dozen now.

Anyone else want to step in?

You'll regret not taking up the mantle... there's no chance to join in once it gets going.
  11. My pic of Mr Majesty would be very happy to make it into the Scoop.
  12. Similar to my other handbook pieces, this one os hopefully going to include a massive number of members.

I give you the start of The Paragonian Knights
  13. Thanks a lot Longer.

Honestly though, I think I'm still working on 'my style'. It seems to be a never ending process.
  14. grrrrrr.. you guys keep messin' with me!

    lol

Is this being set up like a tournament, or is it a "pass/fail" vote, or what? I guess I'm a bit fuzzy on the rules of elimination.

I get the whole "make art to fit the monthly theme." That's awesome. Just lookin' to get a bit clearer on the competition part.

    Anyway, I'm in.

Yeah, each elimination 'may' have a different style. But for the most part it'l be a vote in some type of 'vs' mode.

I really don't want people to think this is only for ART... I honestly think that someone could do very well at something like this with just some screenie manipulation.

    LOL! Bring it on!!! *growl*

  17. FanArt Wars

Ok all, I’ve had the idea of bringing this type of thing to this forum for a while now, so bear with me while I explain it to you.

I propose we have a Fan Art battle! And here’s how it’ll work.

    1. Prior to January 2008, people sign up for the battle. I’m guessing we’ll have anywhere between 10-30 people. This is a fairly big commitment, because for those who succeed, it can mean a year’s worth of fighting.
    2. At the start of each month, a topic will be given out. Call it a ‘theme’ if you like, but it’ll be the focus of that month. All competitors will create a piece of ‘art’ that best personifies that theme.
    3. The piece of ‘art’ can take nearly any medium. You can use a screenie, video, 3D, drawing, or even claymation. The only things that are required are A) Originality-don’t just copy an idea or image, B) Creativity-how much effort was put into the piece, and C) Effectiveness- did the piece succeed in capturing the theme.
    4. All pieces must be submitted via links (there will be a thread called ‘FArt Wars Jan Contest’ for example), where people can discuss pieces and provide links to theirs. All pieces MUST be submitted by the 25th of each respective month.
    5. Voting will start soon after. Each month will have a different type of elimination strategy (sometimes coinciding with the theme). But know that submitting nothing will earn you a ticket out of the competition. Those remaining will go on to the next month.
    6. By December we will be down to a very few, and the last one standing will forever (or at least for a year) be called the FArt Champion of CoX!!!

This is the place to discuss this competition and to sign up for it. If you want to sign up for it, simply do this…

((This is a great opportunity for all of those passionate about this forum to get involved. Whether you are great with a pencil, or fantastic with screenie manipulation, THIS is the place to have fun with it and put yourself to the test))
  18. Which is odd... because I'm used to being the TANK sparring Scrappers. lol
