Quote:Of course, if I just post a few of the first comic, they'll get buried under new posts so how does that help? If I continue to post links to new comics as they happen, wouldn't that be better? While you have posted a thread before saying there was a new comic up on your site I think Caemgen has a great idea here. Put a few pages of the actual comic in a new standalone thread.
As for what pages to use something near the beginning that introduces the characters is a good bet.

I was really thinking about staying out of this one since I certainly don't need more demands on my time, but man I'd love to have some artwork shown in-game... Oh squee!
I think I'll give it a shot, but it would be so very helpful to have source artwork to work from. What does Cole look like? What do typical resistance types look like? The PPD?
I know you have a few screenies on your GR site, but a fansitekit like for CoH/V would be super helpful -
Quote:Oho! Post them here... That's not a bad idea. Let me think about that a bit since I'd have to pick which ones.I'm not trying to be difficult but... Nope, I don't think it would be very useful.
I do, probably, 99% of all my posting in this forum and again, anyone seeing my posts most likely has seen your comic or just isn't going to...
No worries though... I'll eventually find a way to get a cameo in your comic through some more nefarious means!
As for posting your comics, what I meant was post them.
Start a new thread called Jordan's Town and post the first X number of strips in it so that people could read it right here, right in the post. Let people see on the CoH boards why they should bother going to your site to read them by letting them read a couple here... Get them hooked so they HAVE to go to your site to see the rest
And as for cameos, there's definitely a chance you can slide in there somewhere .... once I catch up :P
I did get most of the shading done on the newest one, but I've been trying to teach myself how to use Photoshop with this comic. It's been great since PS is much faster than my last program, but it doesn't have pressure sensitivity working right even though Illustrator works fine. Because of that, I've had to do all my airbrushing with the mouse by constantly increasing and decreasing brush size -
Quote:There ARE buttons like that already, but maybe they're not clear enough. (not an argument, but) what about it makes it seem to you like a personal page? I'm curious about your take on this because I modeled it after VGCats (other than ads because I hate ads)Hey Jordan,
The Comic could use internal navigation! You know, First/Previous/Next/Last buttons? That would make reading it more intuitive and seamless. The site itself could use a clearer focus - right now, it mostly resembles a 'personal site' intended to be seen and visited by friends, rather than a more commercial site designed to attract traffic. It the site 'about me', 'about the comic', or 'about something else'?
Be Well!
Fireheart
Let me know because I'm planning on upgrading a few things anyway and this is useful. As a matter of fact, the navigation buttons was one of the things I wanted to fix. -
Quote:Well, here's an idea. What if you put a link in your signature for the month? You wouldn't have to change or delete yours, just adding a prominent link to the contest up top. Do you think that would be useful?Closest I have to a website is my DA page and anyone watching that is on this forum so I wouldn't even try to claim it would draw new attention to your site...
I think I have all of 5 friends on Facebook - I don't actually use it. Got convinced to make an account once and within minutes got so sick of all the farmville spam that I abandoned it
My only ideas on how to garner more attention for your site would be to make the comic a bit more visible... You should consider posting like the first 4 or 5 strips up at once so people can get a taste of them without having to go to your site. Some people are awfully lazy about visitng sites unless there is a huge draw :P
Anyway, besides that I'm more about seeing guides than writing them
Also I'm not sure what you mean by posting the comics. Can you elaborate? -
-
Quote:Well if it's not in the S&FC forum chances of me seeing it are slim to -212...
Anyway, neat contest and great way to promote your site... Unfortunately I don't think I can enter but I'll be eagerly watching to see who wins!
(And seriously? If anyone enters, wins and takes the time card prize... Well I'll be smacking them the first chance I get!)
Can't enter? Why not? I suppose if you don't have the time for any of those, don't do Facebook and don't have a webpage...
If you can think of something else that would help grown the content of fanbase of my page, I'm looking for more ideas that would count as contest entries. -
-
I'm betting most people here don't check the player run contests thread on a regular basis so I thought I'd point you to the contest I'm running this month. Fanart is one of the prizes so if you're looking for some free work on your characters, this is a way to get it.

P.S. I hope this doesn't count as evil cross-posting... -

I tried uploading and I tried pointing to an online version, but neither seems to work. I used Chrome and IE and get the same thing. Uploading a photo (which is under the required limits for size and dimensions) does nothing. The page just reloads. Pointing to a URL always comes back with Invalid URL even though I can load it in my browser just fine. Any advice?

Quote:Oh yes, I completely know that, but hoped that I could take artistic licenseYou do know that contrary to dogs when cats swish there tails back and forth that quickly it usually means there angry. I found this might be useful.

Oh, and before I forget. KITTY!!! : )
Having owned several cats, I have seen it first hand. Even worse, the swishing tail with the mouth parted (EXTREME annoyance). -

Quote:Note that at this time, I'm only considering catgirls for the comic and have paused artwork for new submissions. I will however be running a contest in May that will involve fan art for winnersI'll have to dig out my Catgirl characters
At least in here we don't get flamed for making them like in Startrek online -
Besides the catgirl comics that I'm still working on... I promised some people pencil sketches. I've completed 3 so far an I'm really amazed by how well they turned out. Sure, I know I made all kinds of mistakes, but I'm still pretty proud of them
I'm grateful to Christopher Robin who inspired me with his 40 in 60 thread and to the Legion of Catgirls for all their creative and fun catgirl characters
Here's what I have so far -
That's the one I did yesterday that took 4.5 hours! I can't imagine how long that would have taken if I couldn't access Ouroboros and base telepads.

Quote:Wasn't trying to cross-post, just put it where it was supposed to bei thought i saw this somewhere earlier...

i have to go with Aett's answer, but i can understand why you would like this.
As for why I want it, I log between characters a lot and it's really difficult going back and forth when the servers move around randomly. I realize it's not REALLY random, but it's seems that way. -
I would LOVE if the servers would be in static order or at least let me order them the way I can order characters.

I decided to knock out the worst challenges first. AT powers only and No enhancements together. I've completed all but the level 45-50 challenge on my main hero and villain badgers. However, the last set I did for 40-45 was brutal. 13 missions all over the city.
It would have been better if my alternate account Warshade was high enough (since he has several travel powers as part of his AT set, but he wasn't. As is, it took me 4.5 hours to do.
I would like to avoid this if at all possible on the dreaded "no travel powers" set. I discovered that even powers like speed boost and all warshade powers don't work (which make sense, but ugh). So granted I can go a LITTLE faster with speed boost or accelerated metabolism and that's good, but the best thing would be to avoid mission arcs that involve a lot of travel.
I'm certain this has been asked before, but the search function is pretty weak so I'm hoping someone can point me to a good resource for a listing of shortest or most single-zone contained arcs at each level for the run through the horrid no-travel powers challenges. I think the rest of the challenges are going to be pretty easy after these. Especially with my enhancements intact. -

Quote:Heya! Whoever said to use Mid's is right on. Figuring out amazing combination of slotting and such is nearly impossible without it IMO. Speaking of, many people have mentioned enhancement diversification, but Mid's will make it clear when you've reached the cap and can't enhance any more.I am a level 31 tanker, soon to jump to level 32. Here is my build:
TANKER, LEVEL 31
Resist Physical Damage 4 Damage Resistance
Temp. Invulnerability 2 Damage resistance
Dull Pain 2 Heal
Resist Elements 1 Damage Resistance
Unyielding 2 Damage Resistance
Resist Energies 1 Damage Resistance
Invincibility 1 Red. Endurance, 2 Damage resistance
Tough Hide 1 Damage Resistance
Jab 1 Accuracy, 2 Damage
Punch 1 Accuracy, 1 Increase Knockback, 1 Damage
Haymaker 1 Accuracy, 1 Increase Recharge, 4 Damage
Taunt 1 Accuracy, 1 Increase Recharge
Knockout Blow 1 Accuracy,, I Increase Recharge, 4 Damage
Brawl
Sprint 1 Speed
Rest 1 Increase recharge, 3 Heal
Hover 1 Speed
Air Superiority 1 Accuracy, 4 Damage
Fly 2 Speed
Swift 1 Speed
I am thinking of adding Rage with three recharges and a hasten. Any comments?
The main thing you're missing is use of Invention Origin enhancements. Many people wait and use SOs, but I think that's a waste of money and time. Slot a few IOs here and there as you level up and don't replace them until you get to higher levels. When you get to about 30, start re-slotting low IOs for better efficiency and once you make 50, rebuild into a perfect build
You can see what I mean in this guide (all about IOs):

And examples of builds that you can download in Mid's:

Quote:I actually wondered if they changed the system to reflect your start date and not active time. I've been in the game since 2005, but had a lot of periods of inactivity.Yay!! I got hit with this bug, too!! Logged in my main account, which just hit 48 months last week, and got the 51 and 54 month Vet Rewards.
Maybe they're trying to make up for all the screwups, and non-rewarding problems?
At least they're items I won't miss (too much) when they're removed...
Seriously, though. I've had to petition for my last 3 Vet Rewards, and all three times, I told them that the system is broken, and needs to be fixed...
