Fanart Prizes!
Well if it's not in the S&FC forum chances of me seeing it are slim to -212...
Anyway, neat contest and great way to promote your site... Unfortunately I don't think I can enter but I'll be eagerly watching to see who wins!
(And seriously? If anyone enters, wins and takes the time card prize... Well I'll be smacking them the first chance I get!)

Can't enter? Why not? I suppose if you don't have the time for any of those, don't do Facebook and don't have a webpage...
If you can think of something else that would help grown the content of fanbase of my page, I'm looking for more ideas that would count as contest entries.

I think I have all of 5 friends on Facebook - I don't actually use it. Got convinced to make an account once and within minutes got so sick of all the farmville spam that I abandoned it

My only ideas on how to garner more attention for your site would be to make the comic a bit more visible... You should consider posting like the first 4 or 5 strips up at once so people can get a taste of them without having to go to your site. Some people are awfully lazy about visitng sites unless there is a huge draw :P
Anyway, besides that I'm more about seeing guides than writing them

Hey Jordan,
The Comic could use internal navigation! You know, First/Previous/Next/Last buttons? That would make reading it more intuitive and seamless. The site itself could use a clearer focus - right now, it mostly resembles a 'personal site' intended to be seen and visited by friends, rather than a more commercial site designed to attract traffic. It the site 'about me', 'about the comic', or 'about something else'?
Be Well!

Closest I have to a website is my DA page and anyone watching that is on this forum so I wouldn't even try to claim it would draw new attention to your site...

Also I'm not sure what you mean by posting the comics. Can you elaborate?

Let me know because I'm planning on upgrading a few things anyway and this is useful. As a matter of fact, the navigation buttons was one of the things I wanted to fix.
Well, here's an idea. What if you put a link in your signature for the month? You wouldn't have to change or delete yours, just adding a prominent link to the contest up top. Do you think that would be useful?

I do, probably, 99% of all my posting in this forum and again, anyone seeing my posts most likely has seen your comic or just isn't going to...

No worries though... I'll eventually find a way to get a cameo in your comic through some more nefarious means!

As for posting your comics, what I meant was post them.
Start a new thread called Jordan's Town and post the first X number of strips in it so that people could read it right here, right in the post. Let people see on the CoH boards why they should bother going to your site to read them by letting them read a couple here... Get them hooked so they HAVE to go to your site to see the rest

I'm not trying to be difficult but... Nope, I don't think it would be very useful.

And as for cameos, there's definitely a chance you can slide in there somewhere .... once I catch up :P
I did get most of the shading done on the newest one, but I've been trying to teach myself how to use Photoshop with this comic. It's been great since PS is much faster than my last program, but it doesn't have pressure sensitivity working right even though Illustrator works fine. Because of that, I've had to do all my airbrushing with the mouse by constantly increasing and decreasing brush size

While you have posted a thread before saying there was a new comic up on your site I think Caemgen has a great idea here. Put a few pages of the actual comic in a new standalone thread.
As for what pages to use something near the beginning that introduces the characters is a good bet.

You post a few of the first ones.. They get bumped for a bit by people saying they like and such... And as you post new links that thread would again get bumped with people who hadn't seen before having easy access to first few in the first post of thread.

Thanks for the advice!
There ARE buttons like that already, but maybe they're not clear enough. (not an argument, but) what about it makes it seem to you like a personal page? I'm curious about your take on this because I modeled it after VGCats (other than ads because I hate ads)

Perhaps it's Firefox that's the culprit. As a web-designer myself, I know how pesky those cross-browser features can be. Perhaps I'm just old-fashioned.
Anyway, yes, I see that you've got your basic tools there - the site makes a little more sense, now.
Be Well!

Huh! Imagine my surprise, when I turn off my Script blocker and Voila! Navigation buttons pop up. Of course, now all of the other things pop up... But I can't see them, because they pop up Off my generously sized screen. The Random Pic is especially fun, since I can't seem to scroll far enough to see the Pop-up and still trigger it by rolling over the thumbnail.

The last major change I made to the site was to translate all the script to jquery in the hopes that a well-established library would be better cross-browser compliant. It worked, but I should definitely look at improving those popups :P
I hadn't thought of people blocking scripts and I might try to make the site a little more friendly for script blockers too.
I'm betting most people here don't check the player run contests thread on a regular basis so I thought I'd point you to the contest I'm running this month. Fanart is one of the prizes so if you're looking for some free work on your characters, this is a way to get it.

P.S. I hope this doesn't count as evil cross-posting...
