Hi all! I'm in too...here is what I could offer:
1) In-game character costume design
2) In-game character development story
3) Quick sketch of your favorite character (possibly full inks and colors)
4) Assist in leveling a character on Infinity
5) Some combination of the above -
That's funny, I had the combat aura too in my re-design, but didn't show in the screeny...thanks for sporting the look!

So ya, I took the futuristic theme from the past...late 70's Flash Gordon style!
Futuristic Blackberry Thorn
Original Blackberry Thorn
Original Bio:
Description: Born Betty Black Thorn, and raised under the long shadow of her father, the crime lord known as Dark Thorn, one might have expected this hero to take a different path in life. Her father certainly had plans for her to take up the family trade, as he had been exposing her to his world full of greed, and lust for power from an early age.
Fortunately, Betty never felt at ease under her father's wing. She was finally able to break free from his influence, when she discovered her mother's identity. Even though she had been missing since her birth, Betty felt more of a connection to her mother, who had been the Silver Age heroin Mourning Glory.
Confronting Dark Thorn about her mother's disappearance threw the man in to a rage. The resulting battle severed any remaining familial ties between them. Betty decided to distance herself from her father's reach as best she could, and moved to a city as far removed from his ideals as possible. A city of heroes, where she took up the name BlackberryThorn, and fought for light's glory, in her mother's name.
On a side note: The in-game description doesn't allow me to go in to detail, explaining that Betty's father is a multi-dimensional alien. His species is capable of existing in any number of divergent realities at the same time, sharing one consciousness with multiple bodies. Since Thorn was born from a human mother with empathic abilities, she was able to hold on to her human emotions. While at the same time, her father's alien influence gave her a faint connection to all the other Thorn daughters, born in different realities. This gave her access to a variety of other mental abilities, shared amongst her other selves.

I am not re-inventing the Biography as in a way it already fits into a potential alternate universe sci-fi theme.
I took the half alien mind/empath literally and she is sporting her circa 1970's sci-fi alien outfit. Or, I guess you could say it is a little G-Force inspired as well. -
I am in too.
I like the theme idea in theory, but it does seem to lend to limiting the over-all idea sometimes...at least it seems to be the case whenever friends and I try themes, it can make everyone sort of look the same. -
Really bummed about this. The posted deadline was to be the 29th. Well since this closed early, I still wanted to post here.
Happy 4th everyone!

Ape-pocalypse <- Raises hand. And ya, to be honest...it takes ALOT to have me comment on anything game related. I just like to play and have fun, but WOW...between our stalkers getting perma-brow beaten, and the Shadow Fall rants (I too [censored] to other users that don't turn it off during rescues) I spoke up...and in retrospec...I just shouldn't have bothered. *carries duct tape now for self use*.
...and will ALWAYS turn Shadow Fall off when it needs to be done...

Pst...pull the "mouse" pick from your deviant page...the mouse is evil and will hunt you down.
Keep up the good work!

Thanks for the comments. Ya, I tend to look at a lot of work from the mid-80s to mid-90s.

...and then there is this ape that just runs all over the place and ends up landing with his heals hitting no one...
"ewww, that's no brown banana" - Ape-ocalypse.

Hi everyone! I am new to the art scene here and the City of' art community is very impressive. In case you don't read the City Scoop, here is one of my latest "scratches" based on my CoH scrapper, Civil-Right, that was shown in the Memorial Day issue.

I am in the 24 group...almost 25 actually.
Should I be sitting out tonight? -
Hi VexXxa! Here is a link to my new character Civil-Right (TM) specially made for your event.
Civil-Right
Civil-Right is currently themed after a martial arts/shield scrapper. His name is a play on words in regards to his interest in civil rights and his trademark cybernetic "right" hook! -
I like that idea A LOT! I have a villian version of him, and the idea of his body blowing itself apart like that makes sense. Thanks again for taking a shot at my toon!

Hi all. Here is my take on Cybernautica by BuckeyeStar.

Great idea. I need to work on my hits too! I am a noob though. I would be stoked with like 100 lol. Good luck!

Cool idea. I'll try and put something together too for this!

I prefer 2D and the use of 3D that is rendered to look more 2D. There is a lot of amazing traditional 2D stuff out there - specifically Anime that pulls this off well and makes Pixar look meh. And if budget allowed, I would love to see someone pull off a traditional fantasy oil painter like Frazetta into an animated piece - too bad they tried that with his work in the early 80s with Fire and Ice and it failed miserably. I blame the lack of technology then though...still an idea I would like to see worked out somehow.

Thanks for the updates - those are some nice new additions!

In regards to original post. I would suggest picking up "Dynamic Anatomy" by Burne Hogarth. A few fitness, fashion, and animal magazines for references. And for quick "warm-ups" just go to a local cafe or coffee shop and quickly draw gesture drawings of people, pets, and/or cars as they go by, etc. Good luck!
