  1. It's a fun arc.

Would be nice if some of the NPC dialogue was re-worked to be more appropriate to more character types, but not a huge deal to me.

The very bright garish colors... now *that* was the intention. And when they got feedback, they pulled that back a bit.

If people waited til the actual rollout ("Whatya think?"), and gave reasoned reponses ("Disappointed no actual robes, but, if going with the new look, tone down the colors"), then this epic thread of doom wouldn't have had to exist.
Then don't show off an unfinished product.

/nod - it was pushed out a bit early, but these things happen.

So, who is going to judge this? NcSoft isn't dumb enough to do something like that.
  7. I put my free points where my mouth was and happily bought the cape and aura unlocks.

    Well worth 320 points.

Edit - it's definitely account based.

If anyone has an appropriate character on Beta, a quick AE run should determine this.

I bet it will trip it. Seems aimed at ambush farms.
  9. Strangely enough, the bane on my spouse's account has gotten 6 Very Rares, but only 2 Rare's as drops. About the same number of Very Rare's as all of our other characters combined.

Seeing a character be Fortune's Favorite, is interesting. Wish I could bottle it.

  11. Well, didn't expect this for next week. Looking forward to seeing the new prices in the market.

    True this.
  13. Yeah, that sucked a lot.

    Good work Paragon.

Once active again all XP goes to the player with less XP until they catch up.
    I'd be fine with this.
  15. Set up your level pacts with the head start, as you won't be able to once Freedom releases.

City of Heroes Freedom VIP Head Start and Level Pact Changes
We are pleased to announce that, before City of Heroes Freedom™ officially launches, our VIP subscribers will be given a head start so they can take the time to rediscover their favorite super-powered MMO and the host of changes that will be made available through Issue 21: Convergence! We will be able to confirm the start date and duration of the VIP Head Start soon so stay tuned!

But there is another piece of news that we wanted to share with you all today.

As part of the City of Heroes Freedom build, Level Pacts will undergo a necessary change in order to have them work within the constraints of the upcoming systems.

During the VIP Head Start, amongst other things accessible to our VIP players, Level Pacts will be available in order to take advantage of the brand new Power Sets that will be released then. However, after the head start has ended, Level Pacts will need to be disabled and new Level Pacts won't be available to anybody until we have been able to revisit the system at a later point.

An innovative system that allows level synchronization for both participating characters (whether they play at the same time or not!), Level Pacts have been widely used across the City of Heroes universe since we made them available to all budding heroes and villains when Issue 13 launched back in December 2008. We understand that it is a feature that many of you love and we can assure you that we will be doing our best to investigate ways to make it work with City of Heroes Freedom!

In short, after City of Heroes Freedom has launched, existing Level Pacts created during or before the head start, will continue to work but new Level Pacts will NOT be available.

We appreciate your understanding and patience in this matter and will provide an update as soon as we are able to!

Hopefully, they fix this at some point - one of my favorite features.

There is a serious case of group think going on at Paragon lately.

I, too, would like to speak of Pax, but can we?
Well, ignore him also. It's just a further extension of people quoting someone on ignore, so that gets around the ignore issue.

PAX - the convention. Not Pax the former poster who went to a superhero MMO not to be named. Heh.

    True that.

The nice thing about new costume pieces, is that they often go in ways that the devs never intend. Enkidu - very nice!

I should double-check the cost of new slots. We're going up to a max of 48 on a server as a VIP, right?

    Let the issue go, Sam.

There are reasons GG got banned in the past, and why a lot of people (not just you) have issues with her. Best to /ignore (as you have done) and move on. Don't let someone else draw you in about her.

I'd rather talk about the PAX news. I'm hoping that we get some Dev comments at some point on the Barbarian outfits.

Also, Positron's reported comment of "Imminent" on I21 fits with what a lot of people have been thinking.

Edit - thanks for the comments about the mesh! Works great for chain mail as shown in the wonderful screenshot.

Ooo, very nice! Do you recall what the chain mail top comes from?

In regards to the top sellers from Beta, if they draw any conclusion that people want enhancement boosters, I'll be horrified.
  21. FYI - Judgement doesn't have a level shift attached.

    Alpha, Destiny and Lore only.

No level shift for Judgement and Interface.

Sounds like you think the majority of people willing to do trials do want to run Keyes. Perhaps that is true on Virture and Freedom.
  24. Looked cute to me. Looking forward to getting more info.

I am sorry that this "modern take" on the CoT is the final version. While the CoT do need a revamp (even though they look perfectly fine (minus their sleeves) on ultra mode, IMO), this look is just not right. It is a definite improvement, but the look has not been "hit out of the park" to use Posi's words. They are the Circle of Thorns yes, but that is not a excuse to make them look like walking pincushions. Tone down the amount of spikes a lot, and the brightness of the colors a bit, and the look would be more bearable. Don't make their robe things flare out so much, it makes them look like they are wearing pagoda roofs.

I'd say go back to the drawing board, but it seems like I am in the minority now and it would just be drowned out by "OMG THIS IS REALLY COOL!!!1!!11!"
At this point, it will go live as is for certain.

What's more worrying is that the Devs were so out of touch with their original designs for the revamp.
