I'm curious what you find dumb about my statements:
Because I'm unfamilar with Katy Perry's music? That would make me dumb?
Or because I think the majority of the music industry is a scam and a joke?
If not being familar with her music makes me dumb, then I'll count myself dumb then. And lucky.
And if you truly believe that the music industry isn't for the most part made up of con artists and business criminals, well, then I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree. -
Well, we tried taking them all on at once but when they saw us coming they ran off in different directions crying for thier mommies so we tracked them down one by one to teach them a lesson.
Also, if you look closely enough, right as the STF finished, Recluse is curled up in the fetal position sucking his thumb, crying. -
Quote:Thanks for joining us and doing such a great job tanking Recluse! That was the one thing I was really worried about and it ended up being no big deal. Heck, turns out I should have been more concerned about Scirocco, heh.
-
Hey, neat! Thanks for posting the videos!
It's also interesting to note that when I was asking around in the channels, looking for people to do this TF, I had more than a few people kind of be like "An All Scrapper STF? Uh, yeah, good luck with *that*." I'm not really sure why though...I don't know of anything in the game that eight Scrappers, or heck, eight of any AT couldn't handle at this point. -
Well, we did it.
Took a little over three hours and there were more than a few deaths but it was awesome fun. Oddly enough, Scirrocco gave us a harder time than anything else, even after we got him and Ghost Widow seperated.
Recluse and the towers went very well too--much more smoothly than I had anticipated.
All in all, it was a blast! Thanks again to everyone that joined us and to those of you that offered advice. -
Alright, it looks like we're all set. However, I was wondering if anyone has any advice on which of us should Tank Recluse as we (surprisingly) don't have a /Shield Scrapper, which is what was recommended in an earlier thread.
Any advice? -
Well, it looks like we're good to go, assuming everyone shows up. Thanks everyone and wish us luck!

Quote:Did Nolan confirm The Riddler as the villain? I'm not contesting what you're saying, I'm just curious because Nolan has gone on record several times in the past as saying that he would never use The Riddler, The Penguin or Catwoman. The villain was confirmed to be The Riddler at Comic-Con.
Otherwise, thanks for the info!
I've just heard so much speculation already...exactly who at the Comic Con said this? -
This will be my first attempt at it with all Scrappers, so we definitely will not be trying it as a master run. I will add your name to the list! See you Friday in IP at 9pm Central time!

Quote:Wait, I actually think it's 10 PM EST. I think. I hope you can make it.I will be doing my best to make this event. That is 8 PM EST, right? I will be bringing my Kat/Inv.
Pretty sure EST is an hour later as the west coast is an hour earlier.
And thanks again for reminding me about it, heh. -
Quote:Yes, but George Lucas has kids to feed and it's hard getting by on only like 12 billion dollars these days.God, I can't watch all six movies in theater again, and I had -3po undies till I was 10.
We're not that far removed from the digital remastering to warrant a re-release.
Don't judge George! You don't know what it's like only making 700 million dollars a year! -
Also, it would seem that Darron Aronofsky is now in the running as well, and other than maybe Tony Scott, he would be my choice.
I actually think that if Aronofsky wants it, it'll be his, providing Christopher Nolan is going to be the major decision maker. Aronofsky just seems like he'd be Nolan's choice as they have a quite a bit in common in terms of work beliefs. Both are visionary and generally pretty uncompromising. I really think that if Aronofsky wants it, it's in the bag, if it's up to Nolan.
However, Warner Bros will be harder to convince. And I think that Aronofsky is going to want quite a bit of creative control, which Warners will probably be reluctant to give.
We'll see. Personally, as I think he's one of the five best directors working right now, I'd give this the thumbs up. -
Hello all!
I'll be running (barring any unforseen complications) an all Scrapper STF this Friday at 9pm Central time.
We still have two open spots left!
1.) Myself: Katana/Dark
2.) Dying Breath: Fire/Willpower
3.) Sylki: Dark/Regen
4.) Mystic Marvel: Dark/WP
5.) Stratonexus: Katana/Inv
6.) Mousedroid: Broadsword/WP
7.) Angry Weasel: Claws/Regen
8.) Sweet Loving: Dark/Inv
So, if you'd like to join us, send me a tell here or in-game before Friday. Thanks everyone and wish us luck! -
Hello all!
Not sure if any of you remember this but a while back I started a thread inquiring about how an All Scrapper STF might be run. Well, now I'm ready to give it a try. I'll be posting this on the Guardian Forum as well but I thought this might be a good place to post about it as well.
So far we have four people for sure:
1.) Myself: Katana/Dark
2.) Dying Breath: (Probably) Fire/Willpower
3.) Sylki: Dark/Regen
4.) Mystic Marvel: Spines/Regen or Dark/WP
5.) Stratonexus: Katana/Inv
6.) Angry Weasel: Claws/Regen
7.) Sweet Loving: Claws/SR, Dark/SR or Dark/Inv
8.) Mousedroid: Broadsword/WP
I ran into Stratonexus and he reminded me about this so I'll be saving a spot for him if he wants it and is available.
We'll be running it this Friday on the Guardian Server at 9pm Central time, so if you'd like to join, send me a message here or in-game.
Thanks everyone and wish us luck! -
According to what I just read on IWatchStuff.com the directors being seriously considered for Superman are:
1.) Zack Snyder (300)
2.) Tony Scott (Man on Fire, True Romance, Taking of Pelham 123, many others)
3.) Matt Reeves (Cloverfield)
4.) Duncan Jones (Moon)
5.) Jonathan Liebesman (Texas Chainsaw Massacre)
(I'd have provided a link but I'm not internet savvy at all and don't know how.)
Personally, I'm a bit sick of Zack Snyder. Tony Scott has made many a great film though. To me, he's looking like the best out of the bunch, although I really enjoyed Moon, so I wouldn't be disapointed with Duncan Jones either.
Of course, this is all still conjecture--just stuff I read on another website, but interesting regardless. -
Quote:I would not be against Clint Eastwood directing a Superman film. Sadly though, I don't think it's the sort of film Clint would be interested in making.Ok. How about something totally different..
Clint Eastwood for directing.
He can make a personal film with scope and heroic themes.
Find a director of photography that could give us epic visuals using a real city scape.
Get someone to write a score that evokes John Williams but sets its own standard.
Get an actor that has the gravitas and the awe shucks maim needed to play both Supes and Clark
Its not the CGI set pieces, its not the villian, its not the flying, the heat vision or lifting a small moon. Its the personal choice to do the morally right thing that sets Superman as the icon of heroes.
At least, thats how I see it. -
Looks pretty good to me so far.
It's so little to go on, but so far, so good. -
Ditto.
And apparently, according to a few posts ago, her breakout song was "I Kissed a Girl"?
Wasn't that someone else's song from the 90's?
That almost goes beyond the shameful lack of creativity these pop creatures display...
I mean, trying to be risque' and get attention by singing someone else's tame attempt to be risque' and get attention?
Wow. Seriously, wow. It's scary that the music industry just doesn't even try anymore and they can still get money from people. Not that there was ever a time that popular music was anything more than black souled record label executives stealing from people but this really has to be some kind of new low--for pop music as well as the people that buy it. -

Quote:Alfonso Cuaron hadn't jumped to my mind but now that you mention him, yeah, I think he'd be fantastic. To the best of my knowledge, Christopher Nolan is on board for a new Superman movie, but only as a producer. Now, that being said, I think he's the sort of creative mind that looks to the source material more often than not. I don't think anyone who reads these boards could dispute that his Batman movies have probably been the most faithful and accurate depictions of that character possibly ever.
But a director for Superman....hmm....I really think it has to be someone with a passion for superheroes, like Richard Donner did in the very first movie, because it literally shines with passion and great care for the character. So I'd look to the more successful Harry Potter directors first, because they're showing a knowledge and a handling of those stories to bring as much of that detail out. So Alfonso Cuaron (Prisoner of Azkaban) would be good.
Alternatively, the producer and someone who I think learned a lot from Spielberg in Chris Columbus could take a run at it. He has a strong visual style and knows how to treat characters also.
Beyond that...maybe Doug Liman of the Bourne Trilogy? Definitely someone who knows how to tell a tight story and handle strong characters.
S.
Personally though, my vote would go with Danny Boyle to direct it simply because I think Danny Boyle should direct almost every movie. And I have a feeling he'd give us something we haven't seen before. Unfortunately, it'd never happen. -
Well, Ex Machina finished about a month ago so I don't see how this would affect it, other than how the trades are released in the future. More than likely they'll be the same but with the DC logo on it somewhere.

Quote:And playing the Pixies at the end of the film didn't hurt, either. The book is more against human nature/history (wanting to get rid of the Museum of Natural History), while the movie is more against consumerism. So, the book has a little more of an "uplifting" ending because all the Narrator really needs to do is reconnect with humanity. It works, but the movie ending is more epic because there really isn't an easy out from what Tyler was railing against and though Jack doesn't need Tyler anymore, the "problem" still remains. I think that is more in line with the cynicism of the book and movie.
Plus, Fincher's visuals for the movie are really outstanding. The book is great, but Fincher changed scenes for the better (don't forget how Jack met Tyler is completely different and much better in the movie). -
Vaughan's run on the series is one of my all time favorites but I could see this being a terrible film...if Hollywood gears this film towards a teenage audience, which obviously, due to the subject matter they will, and they assume (mostly correctly) that the American teenage moviegoer is utterly retarded, then yeah, this will be pretty bad.
No way to tell really till the film is released but I'm not getting my hopes up. In fact, I'll be setting my expectations ridiculously low. Which is a shame, because I love the characters. Although at least if they make a bad film they probably won't have my favorite Runaway Victor in it so they won't be able to ruin him.
