Here ya go.
This guy really shows what this title is like, and explains why it's different. It's pretty entertaining and more importantly, realistic. He shows the negatives. -

Quote:That's pretty accurate - I'd probably be slightly less harsh but yeah. While I'd say that Sam indisputably cares about the game, sometimes it feels like the community is just a source of offenses minor and major to his peculiar sensibilities. I keep expecting one of his replies to start out "I have everyone in this thread on ignore, but I wanted to respond to the topic..."
Mind you, I've always liked him "warts and all" as one might say, as he strongly reminds me of an old friend of mine. Maybe he doesn't view the community as so much crud to scrape off his boot, perhaps he doesn't even take umbrage as often or quickly as it's appeared to me. As the song says "you never know just how you look through other people's eyes"... -
Quote:Honestly? A non-fantasy setting. That's not a fair thing to say in commentary to a fantasy game, yes, but I'm really just done with fantasy. Have been for 15 years at this point.
If I had to compromise, I'd say Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magick Obscura. It's still Fantasy, for the most part, but it's industrial revolution fantasy that pits magic(k?) against steam technology, and develops a whole world mythology around the ways technology and magic interfere with each other. It's still elves and orcs and dwarves, but it's an unusual, and at this point pretty unique take on fantasy.
Or if I want to be ambitious, a Final Fantasy VII type world. That setting is basically a Fantasy, with large open fields, magical creatures and even gods, to some extent, but it's also dotted with high-tech cities and comprises a story revolving people finding a way to harness the souls of the dead via "Mako" reactors, thus wrapping both magic and technology into a seamless whole. You don't see that too often, even in other Final Fantasy games, and ESPECIALLY in the Final Fantasy MMOs.
Or Warhammer 40K, I guess, but I hear that turned into a single-player game.
That's actually Guild Wars 2. I could have sworn the Charr use steam engines or something. Guild Wars 2 = technomagic. I don't care if you never buy the game - just trying to inform. -
I've heard a couple of negatives about it... but if you want a great mouse (and even Zwillinger uses one) get a Logitech G9 or G9X. It doesn't look like much... and that's the deceptive part. It is freaking fantastic. Take it from a guy that has done hardware reviews - most notably having the first MX1000 mouse review years ago - and when the world found out, they crushed the site it was on within a few minutes, with over a quarter million hits in the first day. The G9X is amazing.

Yeah you and me both.
-
Yeah I bought Staff Fighting. I never did buy Beast Mastery.
-
Technological pyramids, guns, rifles, traps, hover technology, etc are all in GW2 also.
-
Yeah, it's unfortunate. I don't have the points for it anyway though - I would have to play it on the beta server.
-
It's alright - it just appeared to be a troll attempt when I first looked at it - I apologize if that wasn't the case and you were called that.

I don't know if Austin is in charge of the store or not.

In the stream they confirmed it wouldn't be available. It's such a tease to see it in the creator.
-
Another thing: some of my options were out-of-whack, like always showing my name, having pop-help turned off, windows placements, etc.
-
...but when I try to purchase it I get an error in the store.
Anyone know what is going on?
EDIT: this is in the character creator, by the way -
Quote:I thought it was 'The Flaming C' but this was it I believe. There was a contest to create a Conan toon in CoH and submit it. If I remember correctly, the winning toon was on the show. I was away for work and missed the deadline. I made a 'Conan meets the Terminator' toon called "The Conanator". Still pissed I missed the deadline for submission.

I don't mean to be offensive, but summarizing 38 pages of patch notes (when I've put it in Word) is a little extreme, and that was with the FIRST patch (I'm pretty sure I heard them say these were the largest patch notes of any issue.)

Oh darn - well, let us know when you want us to show up and I will push everything to make the time for it - this is a priority for me.
