    Ah, but you misunderstand me :P I have decided for DM/Regen, and am going to build a character with it soon. I was just curious as to whether the ability of AV-killing would be able of adding to the character's CV I do not intend to make a stalker that can solo AV's, I just realised that DM/Regen might be more focusedd on small mobs than larger mobs, which made me wonder if it would even be possible to solo AV's with that set combo

    I actually second this! I don't understand why people are so afraid of long animations. In my world, long animations=cool animations Especially ET! It looks violent as damn, due to the whole 'I charge ALL ENERGY IN THE UNIVERSE into my fists and annihilate that little rikti monkey over there!!!' :P

    I've been playing it again recently, and like it. Currently at level 32. Between Siphon Life and Kuji-In Sha you've got decent healing (and the latter gives a good place to slot a Steadfast: -KB). Smoke Flash is great for placating an entire spawn, allowing you to attack individuals at will without reprisal from the spawn for 15 seconds or so.

    It's relatively easy to get positional defense outside of Hide in the high 30s and low 40s for melee and ranged defense with IOs, a little harder for AoE (when Hide is active it's like 70). The down side is that defense debuff resist is only 30%.

    Shadow Maul isn't a great area attack power, but with minimal maneuvering you can regularly get 2-3 targets in its cone, and when you're surrounded you can often get 3-4.

    I can easily deal with 4 minions and an LT, or two LTs and a minion, or a Boss and a couple of minions/LTs. If you accidentally aggro two spawns Smoke Flash (or the new temp power Stun Grenade) is a great way to get the heat off you.

    As always, using purples at the right time is essential for survival. If you use them properly you can fight like a scrapper after your initial attack.

    If you like controllers you may like Dark/Ninjitsu.
    I think you misunderstood my request. I was asking for a primary powerset that works well with Regeneration, the secondary powerset.

    And then it seems you guys agree on Dark Melee as a nice combo with Regen, which I have been interested to try out anyway, as my past with stalkers also showed an interesting potential in Dark Melee.

    as I mentioned, I really have a problem here. Lemme give you some background info about my stalker experience.
    Strongest stalker: Lvl 32, deleted.
    Attempts to make a stalker I can keep: 5/6 or so.

    Let me say it simple, I don't mind the idea of a stalker, in fact, I like them; I just suffer from a serious case of altitis, which, apparently, is causing me to live shortly with stalkers.

    Nonetheless, after having given stalkers a break for quite some time, I'd like to give it one more try! I have been trying to think a little more strategic about stalkers, and have decided to try out with a /regen stalker, as I'd like to see how a stalker manages with regen. My problem is, though, that I am uncertain of what primary powerset will fit with regen. So I thought: Why not ask the majority of CoV's stalkers about their thoughts and experiences?

    So, the bottomline is, I'd like to ask you which primary set I should choose together with regen, and I'd be glad if you'd give me a gameplay point of view for the combination. I look forward to your response ^^
  10. I don't know if this is the thread to post this, but I have encountered a text message bug on many of my newer characters. The default text message color is not the usual white back and blue letters, but black back and dark purple letters, as I've used on one of my characters. When I try and change it to another color combination and click the 'Apply now'-button and then cancel the Options menu, the text box is changed back to the black back and dark purple text.

    Now, my thought is lvl 16. There, as you can see, I have chosen FFG, as I thought it was a very important power to have early on, but I have begun to doubt whether I'll want FFG or TB, as healing is an important ability as well as defense, indeed for a corruptor. I'm currently at lvl 15, which can speak to some of the choices I've made later in the build. But my question: What should I take at lvl 16? FFG or TB?

  14. Ok, I've found out now: First I tried to edit your skeleton build kioshi, I could. But, when I returned, and tried to change my own build, I couldn't. I realised that it's because you can't slot Swap Ammo, so unless you switch the build mode to Dynamic mode, under Options, you can't do anything beyond Swap Ammo.

    So I was just trying to make a build for a DP/Traps toon, but when I added Swap Ammo, my Mids acted funny and didn't let me proceed. I couldn't slot any powers, nor choose new powers; I could rechoose the power, though. Is this a problem with Mids, or am I doing something wrong?

    I checked one of my dominator builds in Mids, and I saw something strange: My dominator's resistances was all at 40 %, without any buffs or anything. Is this a bug, or are dominators getting some kind of resistance bonus at lvl 50?

Something about Reflexx' build that made me wonder: Will it be necessary to have Eluded, or should I say, when looking at survivability, is it worth it to have Eluded and using it, when also having the crash in mind? I ask because I liked the idea of CJ, as I believe it can provide better survivability over time than Elude.

    I have thought about switching all the one set def powers out in the following way:

    LotG: Def/End (50), LotG: Def (50), GotA: Def/End (40), GotA: Def (40); as it is the case with Elude and Weave.

    My worry has been, though, whether it is worth it to sacrifice the bonuses (which aren't that immense), and more importantly the influence, in order to get higher on the cap.

    I might not be so creative as some of the others of you: Thugs/storm.

    My pets are themed to be of different gangs and are thus defined depending on their gang's name.

    Thugs: 2 Bloody Fists and 1 Scorched Hand. Thematically, the Bloody Fists are regular thugs, but they tend to be rather violent and like to cause pain. The Scorched Hand are a sub-version of them; these guys are just like all other Arsonists: Pyromaniacs (:P)

    Enforcers: 2 L.E.A.D. Tactics: Leadership Efficiency and Assailant Delivery. The name says it all.

    Bruiser: 1 Wall Breaker: A minor gang because the initiation test is a battle royale in which you'll have to end out as at least no. 5.

So yeah, basically I didn't get all that aggro, although I actually had to deal with a lot of free runners that decided to attack the def or that simply wasn't near the tank.

    I must apologize if this reply will seem mean, but do me a favour sir: Stop treating me like a freaking noob!! I have played the game long enough to *imagine* the power an Elec/Shield can perform compared to an Elec/SR, I have even had the chance to see one in action. All I wanted to point out here, more or less, is that I felt more surviveable with my Elec/SR than an Elec/Shield I teamed with. And appearently, surviveabilty is more intense on /SR than on /SD, depending on what we talk about in surviveability.

    That out of the way, another interesting thing was said:

    With SR:

    With /SR you can run around with equal, or slightly better survivability... you get extra help in the recharge area to get your attacks up sooner... but not having shield charge means you have 1 nuke instead of 2. You'll not be able to kill a spawn every 15 seconds.. instead you'll kill 1 in 20 seconds (less then with shield because you don't have AAO fueling the ligihtning rod or your other attacks).. then take 30-45 seconds killing another spawn waiting for lightnign rod to recharge... lightning rod will recharge in 30 seconds, but you'll want to save it for a fresh spawn. So you'll only use your nuke every 50-60 seconds or so on every 2nd spawn. So you end up taking 80-100% more time sweeping a mission clean.

    I wish it wasn't this way... I personally feal shields is unbalanced. It shouldn't have both solid defense AND the best damage boost, but it does. These days, I play my /SR toon or level up an alt. My /shields toon was robbed of IOs and left on a server I don't play anymore.
    With the note about SR, I read it that way that with SR, you will use more of the powers in Elec/ than with an Elec/Shield, in that way that you'll use the other powers in the set more often than with elec/shield, so this actually satisfies me reading, so thank you for this post Shred_Monkey ^^
  25. This simply proves two things: 1. A LOT of people have an Elec/SD, barely noone have an Elec/SR, so I like being one of those that have. 2. It seems like very few of you really consider my choice creative. Let me say it this way: I cannot make a /SD or SD/ character that doesn't feel slow, I don't mean he is slowly progressing in battle, I just mean he looks clumpsy and tight, where a /SR feels free and fast moving, as he/she doesn't need to wear a big shield at their left arm.
