You always give me such good PR though, Cap, I could be an axe murderer and still get invited to all the swanky parties.

As many of you may not know, today is Defender Appreciation Day. These happen whenever I feel the urge to appreciate an archetype and what they do for the bigger picture. It has been my privilege to team with some of the best defenders and give them a roof over their heads in our SG.
A good defender, be they empath, storm summoner, dark, kinetic, sonic, shield, radiation or trick arrow, can make the world of difference to how a team performs. So my thanks go out to Captain Cathode, Midnight Gaze, Cat's Meow, Storm Angel, Willow R, Waves, Moonlight Shadow (did I get your name right?), Twilight Mire and the hundreds others who have buffed, debuffed and generally made my day better and safer.
Here is a public service announcement just for you guys.
Don't sweat it, buff me up and I'll have the blighters down before they can lay a finger on you, I swear (foully) that it shall be done.
thanks guys, we love you.
(also, I meant to post this earlier, but my computer was going 'no. Not doing it') -
the moon is actually coloured. Just with extremely pale blue that doesn't show very well. I could go in with some greys, but it loses it's luminosity.
And as for Art as School, I tell no lies. Sucked at it big time. I'm not a 'natural' artist at all, I need someone to show me how to do things, how to use the tools to get a desired effect. I don't know about other schools, but none of the teachers at mine were the least bit interested in showing you *how* to do something. Just thrusting a bit of clay or some paints at you and saying 'make something'. Yes, it's fine for the 'free your mind' crowd who already KNOW how to use the materials and the tools, but not so hot for those of us who come at it fresh. Mind you, I've also been more inclined to draw actual things, like fruit bowls, lamps, sandwiches, dogs, towels on a rail, etc. than painting a ziggly blue line down a canvas with a splash of black and standing back and going 'that's my soul'. I'm not even kidding, one guy the other class got an 'A' for that. I sure as hell hope his evaluation was a masterpiece because his final art piece sucked.
My evaluation rocked, but my final piece sucked too. I don't even remember what it was, but I remember it sucking. I went on about samurais and ****** horsemen in it.
ANYWAY, that was entirely off the subject, which is the luminosity effect/versus empty space debate.
personally, I like the crystal ball like that, but I do see Faery's point and I like to hear this kind of thing. -
I get what you're talking about, but the ball is supposed to be luminescent like a pearl lightbulb. Ergo, you see no features. I could have done the surrounding glow better to make that more apparent, but my white pencil is about the size of two knuckles of my finger. X)
As for the moon, it's not meant to be prominant. It would and should be overshadowed by the aurora, as that is a reaction against the atmosphere and is therefore closer. -
I sucked at Art at school, though I did end up in three dimensional studies when I'd applied for two dimensional. Oh well,
-
yeah, we're pretending the hand in the bottom left doesn't exist for the purposes of this exercise, XD.
Also, nail varnish remover for the win. Even if it smells. -
The Magician
Representing Action, Concentration, Power and Conscious Awareness. Winter's Knight, probably my best friend offline and former house-mate, might seem very chilled out, but tends to be on the ball. One of the best tanks I know and my ideal ice-tank.
Trust me, in real life, her player is a cryomaniac and has frozen pretty much everything that comes in his path. Those things he doesn't set on fire, of course. XD -
the thighs are a little long in proportion to the lower legs, but she has a lovely slyph-like quality to her. Don't be shy about making hands bigger. They are difficult, but you can really enhance an expression by the placement of hands.
-
he looks like he's checking his nails for soot.
Nice style.
-
XD
If I was any good at PvP, I'd challenge you on the spot. However, I'm not so it's all good,
rock and roll, Enven. -

Okay, so here's the deal. I just got my hands on some grey scale markers, and I got a little 'carried away'.
I KNOW Scarlet's boobs are bizarre, but after the trial I had with her face and getting her mouth a little more central, I'd lost interest with the symmetry of the rest of her anatomy, XD.
Anyway, this is an experiment with shadows to see what I like and how I like it.
As usual, crits are welcomed and encouraged. -
but everyone loves transgender talk. I've seen Fanfiction.net, I know how it goes. XD
Back on track: I look forward to your SECOND chibi, Morgana, -
you really need to change your avatar.
some of us rely on 'em! (because clearly I'm a grey cat, oh yes)
-
I concur with Swissy. It's always a worry to see how your stuff is received. Let's just say your first chibi is about a million times better than mine ever was, XD
Since Swissy is much better than me at manga/anime style, listen to her. You have bold colour though, and that's a definite plus for me. -
Eep, double post.

Nothing ground breaking is happening except an introduction to the usual suspects that Grey works with. I'd like to point out that Scarlet's hair isn't actually black, it's just very long and it looks silly unshaded. Until I get grey markers, her hair will be black. What the hell, she could just be dying it.
Also: Alex's costume is STUPIDLY complicated to draw, even when he's just sitting around and you can only see his knee and shoulder. Hooray for cunningly placed teddy so I don't have to draw all of him all the time.
Edit:

Alex is a pain to draw because he has too many buckles. Also, my brush pen ran out in panel 2. Spot where for a point. Good job I had a spare one. -
I hate it when you get wrist ache. Have you tried a warm towel wrapped around it? I find that helps mine.
-
yeeeah, I noticed the spelling error after I posted. Go figure Tetanus has an 'a' in it! D: I never would have guessed.
I'm going to the art shop with my frugal funds to buy some decent paper and some grey scale markers. As it really needs tones other than BLACK! and WHITE! -
you know, for a line I didn't script and I came up with while staring at the paper (everything else sketched in) going 'uuuh ... what should he say?' ... it gets a positive response. Most of my BRILLIANT ideas at 3am don't,
They get cries of 'oh dear god, what's he done NOW!', and 'who changed the sg colours to PINK!'.
Thank you all, ^_^ -
Only a writer?! Pah! Pah I say!
I did debate whether or not I wanted to write in caps, until I remembered I always suck very hard at it. I'm dyslexic so half way through any word I'm writing in caps, I go into lower case because I've forgotten I was using caps. XD (I'm the person they invented Caps Lock for) -
It was three am. I couldn't sleep because I had a monologue stuck in my head! D:
Power-cuts are not my friends, they occur to spite me just as I'm about to save something. It's true.
Anyway, here are the fruits of my labours. My hand hurts.

I need some grey markers for scaling. o_o everything should not be black and white, this is not Sin City, for the love of small pogo stick using cats!
I really ... really need a cup of tea. Don't be shy with your opinions, if you think I suck, say so. :P I'm a big nutter, I can take it. -
*takes 5 pun damage*
MEDIC!
Nice one Sar,hooray for EED's return! We missed him.
-
"Playful's" a much kinder word for us than the usual, XD
We have been accused of far far worse. -
Recently me and a few friends, in a fey fit of humour, created a themed SG on Union called the Alley Cats. As you may expect, you have to be a cat and under five foot to join, other than that, everything's optional.
Here we have just six of the cats, clockwise they are:
Puddlykins the dark/sr scrapper who answers only to Cat as he hates his name. The Circle of Thorns are responsible for him and his sister, Pipette (not pictured).
Mr Mephistopheles, the fire/elec blaster. He answers readily to Toffee and has somehow become the unofficial leader of the Alley Cats even though Maau (not pictured) is meant to be. Well, Maau is probably too busy being asleep to care. They are cats after all.
Shiiba, the illusion/bubbles a princess from another dimension were cat people are the norm and she is full of questions as to why the cats of this dimension have allowed humans to run so rampant.
Mr. Shnookumz, the elec/elec blaster. He was hit by lightening so many times in one day the God of Cats took pity on him and made him 'his champion'. At least, that's what he tells everyone.
Swifflekins, the radiation/arrows defender. She ran away from home as soon as her owner named her. Some people just shouldn't have cats.
And lastly, Misslekins, the martial arts/invulnerable scrapper. He's a rough and tumble tom who's on the run from his family after they decided to neuter him. He only picked a fight with a few dogs ... and foxes .. and other toms ... and that annoying kid with the air pistol. A real lady's man and more raw sexuality than most people can take.
