Me too, but I'm distressed that all of the "Recommendations for DC" threads are gone.
  2. Brisco beat Kolchak? Wow.... I really don't know what more to say.

I think it's 48 hours, but still more than long enough.

    There were finalists?

I see your point. To be fair GASOTPS (wow!) was made after the official awards and I don't think it qualified to be nominated in any of the PC Awards run since it was created. Wait, just checked and I take that back. It's contact was nominated and won the PC in December. The other two, Best New Author and Short Arcs it did not quailify for nomination.

I'd settle for the rate of HoF approaching the rate of DC. Now that I think of it though, when was the last time we got a DC that wasn't the winner or runner-up of an Aeon's challenge?
A non-challenge DC? Jeez six, seven months, maybe more?

The Golden Age Secret of the Paragon Society is in the same category in my book. I have recommended it for DC in the new thread along with several other people, but I don't think anyone is monitoring that or they don't have the time to play the arcs listed there. That's another good reason to adjust Hall Of Fame down.

That's not what he's saying. What DM said is that to write a review of something that you knowingly don't like is rude. For myself, I personnally don't like tv medical shows. So, for me to write a review of a Grey's Anatomy where I describe the show as a turgid snorefest and amend it with the statement that I don't like tv medical dramas would, according to DM, be rude. I don't know that I would consider that rude but, it certainly does pass my definition of trolling.

If this were the case, and I have no idea whether it was or not, then I would find it odd that he would choose the one arc of hers on a topic he knows he doesn't like to review.

Bear in mind that playing through someone's story arc and writing up a detailed critique is actually quite a large time investment.
...and if Venture had actually done this the rest of your statement would mean something.
  15. Let me kick off this thread by suggesting:

The Golden Age Secret of the Paragon Society Arc#344596 by @Wrong Number.
  16. Today is the birthday of one of the “Grand Ladies” of MA (and my wife), Wrong Number.

For all the effort and work that Wrong Number puts into MA like creating/promoting the MA Arc Finder, the MA Super Team, MA related P.E.R.C. events, her reviews and all the other stuff plus, being a super nice person why not give her a birthday gift of playing one of her arcs? I know it would make her day. Happy Birthday love!

Here is a list of her arcs I cut and pasted from her .sig:

2220 Trademark Infringement – Save Paragon City from being sued out of existence!
84420 Death to Disco! –2009 AE Awards Nominee Best Original Story
2019 Have a Blap, Blap, Blappy Day Kids! –Solve a beloved kids TV host’s disappearance.
259920 In Poor Taste – 2009 Player's Choice Winner Best Comedy
344596 The Golden Age Secret of the Paragon Society - Drama, 5th Column, WW2
  17. My nomination for best new arc:

    #346904
    Against the WickerWork Khan!
    @Clave Dark 5
  18. I want to say I'm surprised that anyone noticed the cryptic reference for my thread title. It was meant to add a little levity to the thread as I am a fan of Swift's dark sense of humor. However, I am completely serious about the farm situation. I don't know whether the devs have truly reversed their opinion on the issue or whether they no longer have the motivation to shut down the farms, but the end result is the same in that it sends the message that they are currently ok with current level of farming in MA. To be honest, I genuinely don't care what the non-story tag name is, I just want one to exist so I can avoid the content.
  19. Since it seems that farms are now accepted by the devs as a legitimate uses of MA, given the prevalence of them now, I would like to make the following request. I would very much appreciate a Farm tag added to the list of mission descriptions. That would make it easier for those of us who are not interested in this use of MA, as well as those who are, to make better use of the system.

While I am glad that you enjoyed the arc and am flattered by the nomination, I am unfortunately most likely ineligable for the nomination because I, in fact, have four published arcs.

355351 - The New Paragon Society Reborn
356773 - The New Paragon Society Reborn - Conclusion
115846 - The Spider and the Fox
81318 - Old Dog, New Trick

What is confusing is that the last arc is published on my second account (the first version of K 10 is on this account on Justice, hence the arc appearing there). Thank you for the nomination, however. It is very much appreciated.
  21. What you are all not getting is that knocking an arc from 5 stars basically condemns the arc to never being played again. The irony of this is that we are left with a large percentage of five star arcs that are ticket farming missions (one of them was actually bold enough to announce it in their briefing dialogue). So, as the system stands at the moment, rating an arc less than five stars is basically saying it is worse than a farm.

How I rate arcs is something I developed awhile back based on my concern over this happening. I pretty much rate everything that makes an attempt at telling a story 5 stars.
This is by far the largest percentage of ratings that I hand out. My second largest rating, as a result of the farms becoming so commonplace in the 5 star ratings, is to one star the arc and report it as a farm. The last two ratings I hand out are 1 star, literally for an arc I would never like to see played again or no rating for obvious works in progress. To date, I can still count on two hands the number of story arcs I have given a 1 star to.
  22. My votes for the Best Custom Characters are:

    2) Wrong Number's The Firecracker Kid
    3) Fem Fury's Erica Lashion, aka Escalation

No, she has never said that. Her argument consistently has been that this is not even close to a reasonable example of it. This, as you have admitted yourself, was the most reasonable solution under the circumstances to force a surrender. As such, it falls far short of the criteria of being evil for the greater good.
  24. My votes for Best Custom Group are:

    1) Wrong Number's The Wannabes
    2) Bubbawheat's Matchstick Women
    3) Poptarts Ninja's Space Ape Armada

Clave Dark 5's WickerWork gets an honorable mention as my valueless fourth place vote. I loved the whole idea and the tie-in to the CoH canon.

I also wanted to comment on Laser Jesus's Freedom Militia as I thought the arc was great in that it is pretty much the first time I genuinely felt like a comic book villain. As strong as some of the CoV content is, the devs could definitely learn a lot from playing this arc. The reason I didn't vote the Freedom Militia is that there bios fall into the standard trap of "my powers = my bio". Sorry, but that really turns me off.

My character vote will be following soon but, I just wanted to comment on rule five (the you don't get a first place vote if you're nominated thing). Had I known that this would be the rule going into this process I would have insisted that K 10's nomination be pulled as I feel that no nomination is worth me losing three points of voting power.
