My favorite: anything by PuffyShirt. *Snifff* I miss good ole' Puffy. He always put a smile on my face.

Puffy... SuperParrot... London... All classics.
The ones we have today pale by comparison. Not even nostalgia talking there, these guys were something else.
And good to know you were cool about it States -
Mmm, you'd best get special flying privileges over there.
Or, there'll be DOOOOOOOOOM!!
Good luck where you're going Vyv!

21 out of 21, though I'll say that about 4 or so of those were just lucky guesses :P

Hades wasn't being selfish there, not really. It was his purpose as a god to watch over the dead and the underworld, and guide the spirits in their new home. When they started reappearing above... Yeah. It's not evil. Evil would be wanting them trapped in the Underworld to torture them. He just wanted the balance restored and his duty remain. The three Fates were all whacko at that point too. It's very human, and only as evil as human evil usually gets. Plus, Zeus didn't just zap him, he asked him to stop, but the man really wanted to help people. So, yes, he zapped him, but constellized (Woo English) him in respect.
But of course, technicality. Before I stop though, as I remember about Aesculapius... I remember that he had the uncanny ability to listen and understand animals, and it was that way that he learned great medicines. Or was that Menestatius (sp?)... I can't remember.
For the record, Discord was a demi-goddess. She threw, well, discord. She would start the wars that Ares would rush off to fight.
Anyway, back to the point. That's right. Zeus' lightning bolts were carved by the Cyclops', as were Poseidon's Trident and Hades' cap of invisibility. Statesman's powers don't derive from a particular artifact, but nor did any of the Pantheon gods. It was their godliness that enabled them to wield those powerful artifacts.
I think it's possible that Statesman is like Zeus' champion. Or... Zeus' INCARNATion-sorta *dundundunnn*. Remember, the gods and goddesses, while in their mortal or animal forms, didn't really retain their godliness to the same extent. Mortals couldn't survive to even glimpse at the likes of Zeus, since his power was such. Maybe Statesman can wield some of his power, and hence, that be why he can 'call on the power of Zeus' lightning'. Or at least summon some of it.
What I'm also interested in is... How might Kheldians fit into this? If they do at all? It's all in the CoH bible, so it's quite possible that Kheldians and their development are related to the revealing of Incarnates and... Incarnation.
Going by what someone else said, Statesman representing Zeus, Synapse as Hermes and so on... You think the Incarnate AT might actually be reincarnation of a god or messiah? -
Well, like someone else said before. Evil wasn't really a term the Greeks had or used. Ares was bloodthirsty, but not evil. Nor was Hades, Zeus, or any of the others. They were a lot more human than most deities of most cultures.
I know the intentions were good, but no need to dumb down the facts. Remember, you're talking to comic geeks who often are also mythology geeks. -

Yeah but Jack is a greek-myth nut, so I'd put my bets on it being something (even if just in name only) tied to greek mythology.
On the other hand...nothing is stopping Jesus from kicking the door down and turning all the water in Lord Recluse's body into wine.

Hehehe, and kicking the butts of the entire Greek Pantheon?/em groan

Zeus' father was Cronos, who was King of the Titans and, for his time, the premier god. Cronos was son of Gaia and the Sky, whose name I can't remember. Zeus is, I believe the youngest of his brothers and sisters, since he was the only one to be saved since his mother (whose name I also forget) had watched each of her children be consumed by Cronos.
But yes, Hades is far from evil. He's just a bit of a sad character who lives in general solitude in the Underworld, save for when Persephone spends her part of the year with him.
As I remember, Zeus got along far better with him than with Poseidon. So I'd consider Hades an unlikely case for the source of Recluse' power, that is, supposing that Statesman's power is derived from Zeus.
Also, as I remember, Zeus' lightning bolts are created for him, or at least were at first when he returned to face Cronos. They weren't an inherent power he pulled out of his beard, they were... well, crafted.
It's possible that Statesman actually got his power from whomever crafted the lightning bolts (can't remember who now). However, only Zeus can truly wield them, so Statesman could be borrowing the powers when he uses that ability. Remember, he's 'calling upon' the power of Zeus' Lightning. Doesn't necessarily mean he fires lightning from his fingertips. -
Name: Carla Livelle, aka. Kinetic Force
Eye color: Mutation side effect produces glowing red eyes.
Hair color: A dark red which isn't quite maroon but unique, being a smaller side-effect of her mutation.
Skin color: Tanned, but still obviously Caucasian
Height: 5'6"
Age: 20
Human?: Mutant
Strengths: Her mutant ability to absorb almost any kind of direct energy transfer gives her near invulnerability. She can redirect this energy to enhance her strength, and manipulate it in a large variety of ways. Most commonly in her fists, but also in the soles of her feet to launch herself long distances. She has extensive experience fighting conventional and hi-tech enemies and a degree of dogged determination. She also has a strong sense of duty towards her teammates and taking shots for them.
Weaknesses: Her abilities grant her virtually no telepathic resistances or defenses, so she is fully vulnerable there. She also has a fear and distaste for magical and unconventional enemies, such as the Circle of Thorns and the Rularuu. The idea of her powers being ineffective because of a particular rune, or incantation shakes her to the bone, and she makes a point of leaving such foes to more appropriate heroes.
Personality: Carla is a really dedicated heroine. Her father was a hero, and she wants to stand up for the same things that he did, and truly hopes to make a difference both for the people she's saving and people she's fighting. She also hopes to project a positive image of mutants to a society which is still unsure of how to accept them. While being heroic, she's straightforward, serious, and often takes the initiative as leader.
Carla is from some unheard-of town just far enough and just close enough to Paragon City to make it both distant and desirable to one day visit. Small, and farm-based, the town didn't really give Carla much to look forward to, and she dreamed of going to Paragon City to do something interesting with her life. Her mutation came to fruition the night of the Rikti Invasion, and that day changed her forever. She arrived in Paragon City to answer Statesman's call for heroes, and it's generally unknown what happened to her between the eve of the Rikti Invasion and when she suddenly appeared in Paragon City. (Fanfic in progress)
When not playing hero, Carla is a much more lighthearted and carefree person. All semblance of normality for her was lost during the Rikti War, she lives to make the most of what she has. -

Well I'll say one thing.
After watching the trailer now 33 times, Foreshadow is growing on me.
But Positron's still the most badass by far. (Though, nice punch, States!)

You counted? I don't like counting these things. It makes me feel better about my life. -

The city/buildings screenshots to me looked like Gotham city, Gothic and evil looking. I loved it. If they thought they were being pushed for I4 to come out faster, oi! The CoV push/draw is gonna make I4 look like no one wanted it at all. I so cant wait for it to come out or even go beta.
[/ QUOTE ]
I agree with you on the look of the city from the screenshots, looks like Batmans Gotham city.
I'm not sure how they are going to 'integrate' it into CoH, like will it be a different city off somewhere or is it a niegboring area (like a NYC burough) that is older/more run down/poorer or something.
[/ QUOTE ]
It's a completely different city in a different country (I think...) Think of what the Cayman Islands is to the USA, and that's what the Rogue Isles are for the CoH/CoV world.
Therefore, it's not going to be directly incorporated into the CoH world. Heroes have Paragon City. Villains will have the Rogue Isles. -

I even saw him using Crippling Asskick. Even geko wouldn't take that power and he designed it.
[/ QUOTE ]
Actually Foreshadow uses Thunder Kick, followed by Dragon's Tail.
[/ QUOTE ]
I think it's just CGI flair. That's a kick to the mid-section to knock away the baton, which sends the poor sucker tumbling forward, and a roundhouse axe-kick to his back to really knock him down.
Throwing CoH rules on these vids is like saying... Positron's blast as he gets up should be in the game as "Knockdown Recovery Blast."
I know I know, more fun that way. -

I posted this answer on another thread, but I'll pass it along here. The new guy from the trailer is Foreshadow.

*gasp*
That's the name of one of my first characters in this game! My second, and my first main. His color coding was black and white too! He was a Grav/FF controller... but Jeebus. Awww. I feel hurt. I made him a full year and 2 weeks ago -

Isn't there already a hero named Black Scorpion?
They made a really crappy SciFi show about it awhile back...
Hope it's not Marvel
[/ QUOTE ]
Marvel has a 'Scorpion', who's a smaller guy with a hi-power green tech suit and a big stinger, which is his main weapon.
There's enough difference between them that I don't think we can worry about a link. -

... Fine. But he's got Flurry.

And did I see Freedom Phalanx Trainers fighting Arachnos?

You mean Freedom Corps

I wrote that at first, then thought "Wait a minute, why would there be a Freedom Corps if the adjective's already taken by the Freedom Phalanx? I must be mixed up again." -

Some new screens as well

*heart stops... and starts again*
You know, now I can see it. That screenie with the wolf-dude tearing up a new one on those Arachnos troopers was probably a player-makeable character. Those lower-leg options are there in the creator.
And did I see Freedom Phalanx Trainers fighting Arachnos? -
Having watched the video again for the umpteenth time...
That IS a split cape on Statesman. Very cool. Statesman's ahead of the hero crowd on fashion. -
... Theory.
Statesman, Positron and Manticore are all devs, featured there. I won't count poor Synapse who got his butt whupped.
Sooo is the Martial Arts dude a dev? -
[ QUOTE ]
The movie would be so much more awesome if it was possible to actually download it. I hate relying on Flash for something like this. -_-

It's in the CoH movies list. -
Really want to see some names now. Have the names for all those new CoV AVs been released?
I think the Martial Arts dude is new to go with the I4 costume options. Still quite cool though.
Might I say, Manticore, Positron, you guys rocked in the vid, even though you got the short end of the stick

She looks like the person to the right of Statesman in the loading screen to me, which would make it orange and blue as opposed to red and black.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm pretty sure the woman to the right of Statesman on the loading screen is actually the Miss Liberty prototype. She's not red, white, and blue, but is otherwise very similar. You don't see this woman anywhere anymore, though. Also, I think the woman in the background of the promotional newsletter has short hair.
[/ QUOTE ]
I saw another website which listed her (unofficially probably) as another older patriotic hero, since Miss Liberty is (I'm guessing) comparatively new and young. I can't remember for the life of me what the name was, or what the site was though.
Edit: I figured Miss Liberty was a FF Defender, considering Dominatrix is.
