P.S. For the poster who stated there was only red K, well, you are partly correct: there is still kryptonite, all colors and sorts, and over 100 pounds of the stuff is missing, presumably in the hands of a secret society of villians. Go read Countdown to Infinite Crisis (RIP Ted Kord).

    [/ QUOTE ]

No, I said that it was just Red K that takes his powers. The 100 pounds of Kryptonite is in the hands of The new Red Hood, who is supposedly Jason Todd.

Go read a small fraction of the comics I do.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Red kryptonite doesn't take his powers. Gold kryptonite did.

Comprehend and reserve a modicum of the comic book knowledge I have.

so, what's the story with raven out in striga isle? Anyone know?

He's an Angst/Dark Poetry post grad, a new epic archetype coming up in Issue Eight.

  3. No, Blue Steel is a Paragon Police Department endorsed hero. No affilitation with other heroes in Paragon. In fact, until beta, he wasn't even planned.

    Prove that Infernal's male.

    I dare you.

Aside from the five o' clock shadow? Well...
  5. Ah. But... Liberty's still a member of the Freedom Phalanx, right? And I s'pose that answers the "does surviving mean they actually lived?" question.

EDIT: I guess that also answers the "what happens to that (insert explitive here) Malaise?" question?

Welcome to the post-Crisis universe. It's strictly red kryptonite that takes away your powers, and that's not around anymore.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Actually, red kryptonite still exists, but it has to be created by a 5th Dimensional Imp. Batman, somehow, wound up with one and de-randomized its effect (again... somehow) so that it would make Superman's skin transluscent forcing him to absorb more solar energy than he could possibly need.

I believe the Surviving Eight are the members of the Freedom Phalanx that survived the Rikti War.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Again, Numina didn't survive, and Statesman did. But of course, Statesman isn't in the game, so you can't distribute the Unity Plague cure to him. I think the media concept of the Surviving Eight and the actual Surviving Eight from the game are different, or should be considering the circumstances.
  8. Well, I'd always thought it was the eight heroes who survived the Rikti War, which would be Miss Liberty, Backalley Brawler, Positron, Synapse, Bastion, Sister Psyche, Manticore, and Statesman.

The disputes are: Does Statesman really count? Should Numina be considered a survivor even though she, technically, died? And, should Miss Liberty be counted among them when she's considered Statesman's (I think is the argument) sidekick? There's also a minor argument over whether or not Bastion should count since he's a robot, but I'm sure he does.

No special costumes or builds needed. If you have a level fifty character and join the supergroup, you can have another alt in there, too. We have a "pee wee league" we may need you to join first while we clear out some of our roster.
  10. I have an alt on Virtue. Doesn't talk much, but he can be there for show at least. Fill out your screenshots and whatnot.

Now... do they sell tuxedos for ninjas?

Yes! Now you can swing a Skul about and not hit anybody in Perez. They've gone to Hollows at that level now... There's nothing in Perez people want at levels 7 to 12...

I remember suggesing that both of these zones be sealed off for one Issue and then reopened as normal parts of the city instead of hazard zones as soon as Issue Two came out.

    Spectral Terror

Enhanced fear effects are all well and good... but I think you guys need to kick it up a notch. I wanna' see puddles. Villains wetting themselves. Crying twin waterfalls and confessing their deepest, most embarassing secrets.

    So, how is Tyrant?
  18. I think I liked a suggestion another poster made once.

How about, at 40, characters are allowed to use Firebase Zulu as a transportation hub to deploy to other parts of the city easier. A Portal Corp building in every trial/hazard zone accessible through the Shadow Shard. So, instead of going from Peregrine to Talos to Steel all the way down to the Yellow Line to Atlas, you can go from Peregrine to Zulu to (say) Perez to Atlas. Or Peregrine to Zulu to the Folly to Brickstown or the Crash Site.

I thought it was a pretty good idea.

    *Entirely new cities to visit

    [/ QUOTE ]

This is what I'm banking on.

People who think there isn't much to this game, or much more to come, keep thinking of the game as an MMORPG more than a comic book. All this game really is is one big, every-telling comic book story. And in DC, there isn't just Metropolis. Or Gotham City. You have an entire world.

Ya' got Central City, Keystone City, Hub City, Coast City, Star City, real places like New York and Los Angeles, planets like Oa, Krypton, Bolovax Vik, Xudar, Zenn-La... other dimensions, which they've already dipped into a little.

Portal Corp and Kheldians were just a step. Pick up some comics some time, and you'll see an almost infinite source of creativity that can keep this game going with more and more new content.

What ever happened to the Malleous Mundi? That sounded way more interesting than PvP and this Council bunk.
  21. So, yeah... I was looking around on the Internet for stuff to write about. I draw a lot of inspiration from Mike Mignola's work, in that almost everything he writes he draws from establish folklore or mythology, so I spend a lot of time at Pantheon.Org.

Sometimes, I spill over to other sites, though. This mornin' I hit some Christian encyclopedia site. I don't know how many of you have read the Bible. I have, front to back, just to know what it was all about. Anyway, in Acts, this fella' named Simon asks Peter and John how he can perform miracles like Jesus, and they brand him a heretic, then he begs for them to pray for him.

I found out this mornin' that Simon later went on to lead a small religion in Rome, performing dark miracles for the Emperor Nero in an effort to emulate Jesus. Well, he was so into this, apparently, that he ordered his followers to bury him alive, promising that he would rise again in three days. He didn't.

Anyway, they called him Simon the Magus, since it was believed he was a Zoroastrian before he "converted," and magus was a typical title for anyone who followed the dark arts.

So, I wrote this little excerpt for my biography at my supergroup's website. It encompasses the whole of the Archmage accolade, from the Circle of Thorns to the Tsoo with a dropped hint at Giovanna and the Holy Church.

    Enjoy!
  22. I wanna' log a complaint about Halloween, too!

    Where'd my f'n rocks go!?

Thank our producer & Positron for the "trick or treat"...

Thank Manticore for the cool mythology....

And the Coven are NOT Carnival of Shadows guys...they're something else altogether. Hmmmmm.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Wicked. Well, then I hope to see 'em later on. They were pretty hardass ladies.
  24. Are the Coven really just Carnies? I thought so at first, but their models looked a little different. Still, even if they are, can't blame 'em for taking some short cuts for a simple Halloween event they didn't even need to do.
