  1. Vanguard Lancers - One Year Anniversary Events

ONE YEAR. NO SURRENDER. NO RETREAT.

A special unit of the Vanguard, the Lance was formed for rapid strike and response missions involving extreme combat operations. These 'Lancers' were selected from Vanguard recruits deemed unsuitable for use in the Vanguard's other divisions, and hence considered expendable. Operating under the Aegis of Lady Grey, the Lancers distinguished themselves in a year of almost non-stop combat. Come and join them as they celebrate their first anniversary and their continued survival and success - despite the odds!

    ==================================================

It's been a fun year and now it's time to kick back and enjoy. Everyone on Triumph is welcome to come along and join in the open events! It'll be one week or action and more is always better!

    Schedule of Operations

    Friday, June 24th

    General Assembly & Group Photo

    Lancers Only
    8:30PM EST

All Lancer personnel will assemble in the base for a brief address by the Colonel and a Group photo. All personnel are invited including Blackguards and freelance associates. Uniforms are requested but not mandatory.

    Rikti War Zone Sweep
    (Immediately following the Assembly)

    Everyone welcome!
    ~9:00 PM EST

Following the Assembly, Lancer forces will gather in the courtyard west of the Vanguard Compound and then move out into the Rikti War Zone and clear enemy forces from the Malta Base, the Council Headquarters and then sweep north, past the Mothership and take on the Rikti forces north of the Crash Site.

Any and all assistance is welcome in dealing with the Rikti presence in the War Zone.

    Saturday, June 25th

    Lady Grey Task Force

    Everyone welcome!
    8:30 PM EST

Once again Vanguard forces will engage the Lord of the Lineage of War and discover the mystery of the Honoree. Lancer forces will assemble by Lady Grey in the Vanguard Compound prior to forming teams and launching operations.

Heavy Rikti retaliation is expected subsequent to this operation and additional forces may be needed to repel Rikti dropship incursions over Paragon City.

    Sunday, June 26th

    No events scheduled.

A day of rest in honor of those fallen.

    Monday, June 27th

    Rikti Mothership Raid

    Everyone welcome!
    8:00PM EST

An all-out assault on the Rikti Mothership! No defense put up by U'kon Gr'ai and the Rikti Magi will deter the Lancer forces from disabling the Mothership. We'll likely run more than one, depending on interest.

The group will start in Fort Plum at Point du Hoc and move out from there, taking down the pylons and then attacking the Motherhsip itself.

    Tuesday, June 28th

AE Arc - "A Disaster Waiting to Happen"

    Lancers Only
    8:30PM EST

While the arc will be available to everyone, the initial run will be for Lancer members only. Find out exactly what went wrong with Project:Oilcan and why there isn't an army of Tin Mages running around.

    Wednesday, June 29th

    Incarnate Trials

    Everyone welcome!
    8:30 PM EST

League up and run through a BAF and a Lambda! Take the fight to Praetoria and stuff Emperor Cole's forces back in their own universe! Lancers forces will gather in Pocket D and form leagures prior to the assault.

    Thursday, June 30th

    No events planned.

Breathe deep. We all need a rest.

    Friday, July 1st

    Synapse Task Force

    Everyone welcome!
    8:30 PM EST

Penelope Yin has been complaining about the psychic stalking of the Clockwork King for some time. Lady Grey has finally suggested that something be done about it and has tasked the Lance with conducting this mission. The Herald has obtained permission for a Vanguard operation within the borders of Paragon City specifically to locate and apprehend the Clockwork King. Synapse of the Freedom Phalanx has agreed to assist in these endeavors.

    What could possibly go wrong?

Fight endless armies of clockwork! Defeat giant robots on the streets of Skyway! Drive off Penny's would-be boyfriend! All for 58 merits and a badge!

City of Heroes has been an unending adventure
and it's due to the amazing people involved
    - players, GMs, & developers -
    Thank you all!
  2. As a favor, if you're going to put out a Vanguard theme pack, could you include the Vanguard chest emblem from the 30 month veteran reward?

    Just for completeness sake, y'know.
  3. I can understand how if a map has a significant error in it, it needs to be fixed. What I have a problem with is how this was implemented.

I have a published arc that's been up for weeks. All of a sudden I get a batch of zero star no comment ratings and I'm wondering why. A friend runs the arc and mentions to me that enemies are disappearing and appearing - which I know occurs when you've got more items on a map than it can hold. I go and edit the arc for the first time in weeks and I see that the burning forest map is gone and has been replaced with the ruined Atlas map.

    Gee, thanks.

It would have been nicer to render the arc "invalid" than to leave it up and running with a different map subbed in for the removed map. A notice in the patch notes that certain maps were being removed would have allowed me to address the problem myself.

How hard is it to say "We're taking these five maps out because they need to be fixed. We'll have them back as soon as possible, please be aware than any missions using these maps will have issues until this occurs."

I still haven't seen any official announcement that that's what happened. If this is a bug, then I have a huger issue - my map was randomly replaced with an incorrect map! That's a MASSIVE bug.

I'm going to unpublish the mission since it's now unplayable and there's no way for me to write around the map since it's core to the entire arc but from my end, this stealth removal of maps while leaving the published missions using those maps still running and playable is a massive fail on the part of the devs.
  4. Forgive me if this has been asked before, but when they say "One entry per person" is that one entry per individual, or one entry per individual per category? If you can only post one entry, why would anyone apply for anything except "Best Overall"?
