  1. I'd also like to know what time this will be. I logged in last time it was activated and got to play with the costume pieces in the creator for a second but had to go to work so I couldn't mess with anything else, then when I got home it was gone. If it's going to go that quick today then it would help to know what time I need to hang up my hat on live and head to test.

I'm in for Silver Mantis. I'm loving getting to know redside better since, sadly most everyone I know in game plays nearly exclusively blueside so it's been difficult for me to break over. I'm loving the feel for Lady and I wanna take her all the way with this team, though I rolled an alt that I'd also love to work on sometime, only issue being that on the off-nights I don't usually have a ton of time to play. Guess I'll just have to see how things work once my work schedule regularizes.

During the i15 beta test, accessing the Supertailor often caused players to assume the glowing model texture that's displayed on the 'select body type' screen while changing their costumes. This was visible to other players.

    [/ QUOTE ]

We need an option like this without a glitch. I SO want a glowy energy body for one of my toons. That or at least the option for making a pattern/color glow where it's used on costumes.

Anywho, I'll hopefully catch it this time as I want to try it out and see how it all works, and hopefully help work out any remaining kinks so we can get it to live as soon as possible. I've got a size-changing scrapper that could use his signature power.
  4. I think everyone can agree that Ms. Liberty went off the deep end a LONG while ago. Even Ghost Widow and Kalinda comment on how she's more "holier-than-thou" than other heroes. Plus from what I saw of her in the comics she seems to think a bit too highly of herself and her right to enforce "justice".

I can very easily see something going on with her in Going Rogue where she might become some sort of grey area alignment , because her heart really is in the right place, she just takes the approach of "It's alright to curbstomp a three-year-old if he backtalks".

Sounds like fun to me. I have a plot stewing in my head for a fun little arc, nothing too heavy, but I've got an alt I want to roll and it'd be a good way to tie her into the Brimstone Club. I'll work on that tonight after the team or something if all goes well.

Since Reichsman is the Axis Earth version of Statesman, is there an Axis Earth version of Ms. Liberty? and if so, what is her name?

I may dabble with an Arc if I can come up with something that's not totally ridiculous.

See, the whole schtick that I have in mind with Lady Hellfrost is that she was already a powerful psychic and mystically inclined, so she joined the Brimstone Club as a way to move up through the world, but somewhere along the line she jilted the wrong man after using him for his influence and took a dip in the river, in the middle of winter under a sheet of ice. Basically as she was drowning and freezing the death she just kind of called out with her psychic abilities and because she'd become so twisted she ended up summoning a horde of Hellfrosts, who offered her a pact. She gave them her soul for power and eternal youth and beauty, and gained her ice powers. Basically this lays the foundation for both her powersets and her "I'm a sexy corpsicle" appearance.

As you put it, that explanation makes the Brimstoners more legitimate mages in their own right, where the COT are literally spirits posessing normal humans with mystical ancestors and using powers that way.

Anywho, I think I'll get thinking on an arc to work on and see what I can't throw together.

And final note: I'm gonna be on tonight trying to farm for my cold-hearted badge. Anyone think they might like to join me? It's really slow going solo. I'll be on Lady Hellfrost so just drop me a tell if you're on.

    HTTT Reunion?

I'll most definitely be running Lady Hellfrost on Sunday. I work tomorrow morning then have all Saturday night and all Sunday off, so I plan to work on badges for her on Saturday (Aiming for coldhearted first, then if that gets done at a decent time I'm going to take a Rogue Isles tour for exploration badges.), then Sunday it's gonna be level time.

Question: Are we planning to wait until 8 on Sunday or possibly starting earlier since most places close early on Sunday and people will be home and online sooner?

Aaaand last but not least, I just read over the COT history again this morning and had the notion storywise that The Brimstone Club could be not necessarily Circle of Thorns but rather just one of the various hellfire clubs about at the time, though full of genuine mystics and psychics, so Zoria latched onto them in his bid for Oranbega, and when he founded the Circle he ganked a huge number of followers and members. Gives a good solid reason for The Brimstone Club to hate the Circle, as well as why they have a bit more varied abilities than the thorns. Not to mention it frees us up from having to say that our toons are posessed by the spirits of Oranbegan mages. I for one know that Lady just happens to be a wicked woman who sold her soul to Hellfrosts. Yes/No/Maybe So?

Actually, as we were going about the mission I paused for a moment, clicked on the mission tab and pulled down the mission info and could read the mission blurb. Still didn't get everything, but at least something.

I may try my hand at an arc for the team sometime. Have to see how much free time I have.

If anyone is still on today I have this HIDEOUS THING sitting in the back of my head nudging me and saying "Hey, you know you wanna roll a Mind/Thorns and pass it off as Lady Hellfrost and Dr. Wormwood's kid"

I blame this ENTIRELY on the good doctor after his comment about their children being "Pale, addicted to opium and MEAN."

I'm just waiting to see if they take the most requested power set ever, Dual Pistols, and put it in Going Rogue to force folks to buy it.

I'll be buying GR anyways, but I'm curious to see if they offer Dual Pistols and Demon Summoning as a seperate purchasable package, or if buying GR for $50 will be the only way to get the set.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Dude, everyone is gonna get those sets. They'll most likely be released with Going Rogue, but a free update for the game in general should flesh them into any archetype with access to it. They'll have to do some kind of general update to the game when GR is released, otherwise redeemed villains won't be able to see powersets for heroes or vice versa, as that's how it stands now. Not to mention there would probably be some glitchy things going on without at least a slight tweak to the game now that different archetypes are running around everywhere.

All this tinfoil hattery going on is grinding my last nerve. Everyone seems thoroughly convinced that you're only going to get Dual Pistols and Demon Summoning if you buy GR and I just don't know where it's coming from. Yes, super boosters exist, and yes Super Science has the size change thing included with it, but that doesn't mean that we'll have to pay for new powersets when they come out.
  12. Mmm... I've got a couple that I'm quite fond of.

My absolute favorite name I managed to land: King of the Internet, Bots/Traps MM

    Skinnybones, a voodoo witch/demon with spines/dark armor
Johnny Fabulous, MA/Regen right now but when power customization drops he's getting re-rolled with pink energy blasts. XD
Colorguard, Shield/SS tank with an all-american theme
Scarlet Saint, TA/Arch defender in golden age-esque style
The Man in the Hat, Dark/Psi defender, looks like he belongs to the Illuminati.

I'm really surprised I managed to land King of the Internet and Man in the Hat, but I'm not gonna look a gift horse in the mouth.
  13. I've always wondered but I can never find any info about this, so I figure I might as well ask.

What happened to make Dark Astoria the way it is? I know there's a plaque in game that mentions a vow by Statesman to restore Dark Astoria to the way it used to be, but I've never heard what caused it in the first place. I know the Banished Pantheon have something to do with it seeing as they're the sole enemy group there and most BP missions seem to take place on instanced maps of Dark Astoria. Love the zone, but I'd love it even more if we knew more about it.
  14. Rial, you apparently didn't pay attention to the quotation marks. What you stated as reasons for your ASSUMPTION was indeed common knowledge. The assumption that you made and claimed was common knowledge was in fact an assumption.

Yes there are limitations, but they also said that without retooling the way powers are animated they couldn't do power customization, so who's to say what has been done in addition to color changing while they were in there tinkering? You don't know any more than the other players on the forums so kindly stop stating your assumptions and conclusions as fact. Anything leveraged here other than what is stated directly by the devs is nothing more than your opinion on what might happen. All it takes is a simple "This is how I think things are going to go" preface to your post and it's all good. Otherwise you just sound like kind of an arrogant [censored] who assumes he knows exactly how the inner workings of the development team go.
  15. Exactly. It could happen. Produce your degree in game design and programming and then prove that you work for Paragon Studios and I'll agree with you. However, that ISN'T "common knowledge". For all we know we MIGHT be able to have a sniper rifle for the snipe attack and not for the others. Nobody knows yet, and I for one am looking forward to the expanded info we were promised next month. Who knows what might be in there? Nobody but Paragon Studio employees. So in the mean time I'm more than happy to enjoy the thought of having my blue-fired Will-O-Wisp dominator and if power customization turns out to be even more elaborate then whoopie. If not, then who cares? I can still have blue fire. Quit over-stepping your bounds.

I think Power Customization will only be the ability to change the color of powers.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Fix'd. You don't know for a fact so stop stating it as a fact. Likely as that point of view may be, unless you work for Paragon you have no way of being certain.

We'll have more info next month so just suck it up and wait. We'll see how it pans out then.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Actually, his entire post was stated as if he knew for a fact things about PC that no one outside of Paragon Studios can actually know. Your criticism should be leveled at that entire post, not just the line you selected.

    [/ QUOTE ]

So it is, but I was lazy and didn't feel like fixing the whole thing, and that line in particular irked me. I see stuff like that happening way too often around the forums with people stating things as fact when they have no authority whatsoever to do so.

  18. Err, yeah. So I saw. Anywhoozle, Posi did say that we'd have more info on that in July, so hopefully that'll include some semblance of a timeline for releases.
  19. Rial, the site for Going Rogue references i16 in the subscribe link, implying that i16 is the one to coincide with Rogue. I didn't say I knew for sure, and really the sources thing was more a figure of speech. Also I said that it would release simultaneously, not after. Not in so many words given, but that's regardless.
  20. [ QUOTE ]
I know the DEVS are not going to give us a release date but can they tell us the order of items coming out? Is i16 next or will it be Rogue?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Sources point to: "They're the same thing"

i.e. Going Rogue will be released as the expansion for purchase of the full game with Praetoria and side-switching abilities and all the nifty stuff, and when it's release i16 will go live to give people access to all of the stuff that the playerbase at large needs for the game to continue functioning, like the new powersets that people will be running around with, the ability to process rogue characters in new settings, any new missions that take place on primal earth, that sort of stuff. You'll have to buy Going Rogue to take advantage of everything, but i16 will have some nice goodies for everyone.
  21. Opprime: I heard talk once that if Illusion was to be proliferated to Villains that it would be best suited to be re-tooled into a MM set, which makes plenty of sense. the Phantom Army, Spectral Terror and Phantasm powers could become permanant summons, take out blind and flash to replace with the minion upgrade powers, Spectral wounds serves as one of the attacks, and group/superior invis could be replaced with a couple of non-hold attacks. It would take alot of work but it suits a Mastermind as a summon set better than it does a dominator really. Though I will admit, I wouldn't at all mind an Ill/Psi dom.

As for other proliferation, I'm all for it. Given, things like Ice Brutes that are literally going to nerf theirselves aren't going to be a good idea, but that seems to be the exception to the rule. Hell, heroes have Dark/Dark defenders, Dark/Dark tanks, Dark/Dark scrappers, are people saying that good guys can wield the powers of darkness/death/the underworld but villains can't have certain sets because it makes them too "heroic"? Please. At the moment I'm eagerly awaiting Psi blast being ported to Corrupters. I want a Psi/Kin very badly and a defender of the same build just doesn't flesh out the way I'd like.

It's just a matter of time before we get all sets that are eligable for proliferation out of the way, it just hasn't happened yet. Going Rogue is the big priority now and promises alot of customization, so hopefully once that's on shelves the devs can devote more resources to things like proliferation and other player requests. They've only got so much man power, but I believe they've got the best interests of the players in mind, they just have to go about it a bit more methodically than some people would like.

  23. Jumping back a couple posts to the Nemesis thing:

I was led to believe by the in game info attached to Fake Nemesis that each one of them is basically a sentient decoy, though not to the point of believing that they ARE Nemesis. Rather, they know they're just minions, I've even heard one say something along the lines of "If I take this guy down then Lord Nemesis will surely be proud of me and give me a promotion!". However, Nemesis himself is also fully capable of taking control of any given Fake Nemesis at will like so many remote control automobiles, to the point of speaking directly through them. I seem to remember a friend telling me about a mission where you're sent after Nemesis but you find a Fake and the real one speaks through it to tell you "Enjoy the decoy, I'm like a bajillion miles away right now, nya nya!". So to make a long story short, the Fakes are fully sentient minions who just happen to look like Nemesis, but the real one can control and speak through them at will.
  24. Again Rial, this is all happening a couple of YEARS after the fact. (And yes some people got ticked about the vet helmets until they realized that you'd have to be subscribed for 4 years to earn them, so anyone who gets them has well and truly earned it.)

If you're that bent out of shape get out of the discussion for Going Rogue and go make a thread in another forum where we don't have to skip over your gigantic, mis-spelled wall of text to continue with the discussion at hand. Thank you.
  25. Even still, it's as Attache pointed out, that's two out of nine attacks. It's an exception to the rules, not a precedent. And either way, I'll say it again: Guns are inherently a ranged weapon, and scrappers are melee. Unless you intend to have a set were you go around slapping people with your gun 7 different ways and maybe firing off one or two shots (which would still be ridiculously and unrealistically short ranged) then it just doesn't make sense at all.

We already have pistols for masterminds with thugs just like dark blast for zombies. It's a ranged set by nature and the whole pull of the idea was to make it into a full set based around the moves that are already there, just fleshed out to a full powerset in it's own right. I will however agree that MA proliferated to a blaster secondary could work just swimmingly and I'd very happily make a DP/MA blaster. That concept can work well, a gun-slinger with martial arts training in the event he runs out of ammo or is forced into a melee situation. A melee fighter who shoots people... isn't a melee fighter, he's a gun-fighter.

Anyway, like I said, this is just my two cents. I'm not re-examining my opinion on this, not because I think I'm right and you're wrong, but because it's an opinion. I think it's an idiotic notion, and you don't. And you're entitled to that, I'm just pointing out why I think so.
