Being a Claws4brutes nut, I'm amazed that I'm actually more excited to see the new animations for Super Strength and Martial Arts.
I have a feeling MA4Brutes! might be in my sig shortly. -
Three endurance redusctions in your Invulnerable toggles is overkill, you only need one per toggle. What is killing you is Tough and Acrobatics. You have no endurance reduction in those at all and they use almost twice as much endurance as your Invulnerable toggles.
Also, Combat jumping has a very low endurance use, but I'd put one in there anyways. Just remove the one you have in Super Jump...there is no reason to waste a slot by putting an endurance redux in super jump. -
I don't care if I get in or not as long as they pick good beta testers so this thing get get to live quickly.

Claws is a horrible set for PvP.
I love it for PvE though and can't wait to have a claws/fire brute.
[/ QUOTE ]
Depends on your build. Most Katana and Broadsword Scrappers have a hard time defeating me in duels, but just yesterday I was taken down by a claws scrapper. When your cast times are that quick, damage procs can really add up. -
1. Martial Arts for Brutes.
I have a feeling I'm going to love MA when issue 16 drops and I can change some of the animations to punches. It's really going to suck that I can't roll an MA Brute :/

Here's a question: What stops you from taking SJ and just NEVER using it to its full potential? It would LOOK and FEEL like what you are proposing (at least in my head it does), and it would not require any Dev time.
[/ QUOTE ]
I think I raised a good question here... that everyone has ignored.
[/ QUOTE ]
Sorry, I actually thought I had responded to you but proboably got sidetracked defedning myself. The truth is your idea is exactly what I do right now. It kinda works, and will likely be the best option I get, but when your jump speed is twice as fast as your run speed it kinda ruins the flow so to speak. You get this stop/go momentum thing going on. -
Why do all these [censored] hover over the suggestion forum? I had an idea, some of you think it's stupid, you let it be known....now get a life and move along. Seriously what is wrong with you people? You just keep repeating the same thing over and over. I UNDERSTAND YOUR OPINION and I don't need you to post ten more times to confirm you don't like it.

Well....for the past 4 1/2 years I have stopped into PvP about every 6 months. I usually spend about 20 minutes there and remember exactly why I never PvP, then leave for another 6 months or so.
However, I want the Day job accolade for logging out in PvP zones so I went into Recluse's Victory the other night and ended playing for a bit. I actually found a team and had a reallt fun 2 hour PvP experience. Ever since then I have been messing around in ther a little bit every day, and while there are still idiots in there...I've been having a pretty good time. Crazy I know. -
So I was trying to figure out how much recharge it will take to have Focus/Shockwave/Gloom as my attack chain. I've been trying to get into PvP lately and I think I might make my first dual build character using this "tankmage" pvp build as a second build. Hope Focus and Shockwave stay ranged attacks

Seriously? My suggested Travel pool is all about being super athletic. It's about running faster and jumping higher than normal folks can. Reacting quicker and hitting harder. How does a quick disorienting uppercut not go with that?
If you think my idea stinks...fine, but don't just look for things to pick apart. Especially if you have to make things up. You've stated your displeasure a few times now. I get that you don't like my idea and feel it offers nothing new or interesting....so mission accomplished....I get it...you can move on now.
-
They can easilt make it so taking Combat Jumping greys out my suggested toggle and vice versa so you can only take one or the other. Not a big deal really.
As far as adding new travel powers in general, I think stating that they won't be adding a 5th power to existing power pools just because they haven't previously mentioned it is seriously flawed.
Personally if they add new travel powers I think the best way would be to just add a new pool called "Travel" They could add as many travel powers in it as they want to. No other type of powers, just travel. Set iy up so you still have to take a tier one power from one of the existing travel pools to unlock this ne Travel pool, and your set.
I think the underground "mole" travel could be done, my idea could obviously be done, a customizable platform you stand on could probably be done. I doubt very much we'll ever see swinging like spider man or vehicles, but there are plent of travel ideas that would be quality additions to this game. -
All good ideas IMO. As far as making your enemy jerk and thrash about as you empty both clips....the electrocution animation would actually work great for that. I would love to see that.
-
Being dismissive of what? You said the Devs won't add a 5th power to travel pools....I just asked why. They added a 5th power to epic pools. they've done alot of things in the past year that weren't expected. I'm just curious if you had a persoanl sit down with Castle or something? What makes you so sure?

Well, it could do that animation as you suggested, then finish with a rude gesture at the end in order to make up the extra time.
[/ QUOTE ]
This made me laugh -
Well like I said, using the animation I suggested isn't important. The idea is to get any alternate animation for Eviscerate. Nothing more.

I'd agree having Assemble Team as an alternate choice would be best, but then people would whine that all the travel pools should get alternate options for the tier four power.....can't win.
[/ QUOTE ]
Well, what about Grant Fly as an addition to the flight pool?
[/ QUOTE ]
They aren't going to add a 5th power to any travel power pool.
[/ QUOTE ]
Why? It helps to give an explanation instead of just stating you opinion as fact. -
We can debate the technical meaning of natural till we are all blue in the face. Maybe I shouldn't have used the word natural. The point is the travel power I suggested is combination of boosted jumping height/speed and boosted running speed that I would enjoy and I think others would as well. Better than swift/hurdle/combat jumping and sprint can provide combined, but far less than superspeed or super jump. Call it whatever you like.
-
Well we did get alternate flight animations. It is possible we could get alternate jump animations, or even alternate TP animations. Actually, alot of the new change costume emotes would work nicely for alternate TP animations.
-
[ QUOTE ]
maybe the devs could ad new jump animations, like flips and such, to add parkour feel into the game
[/ QUOTE ]
I like this. CO has this with thier "acrobatic" travel power and it's pretty cool. You basicly put your arms out when you jump and keep your feet togethr like a diver, then do a front flip as you start to decend. Not sure if that could work in this game, but it would definelty give the travel power in my OP a unique feeling.
Even just getting something like this added to Combat jumping would be nice. -

How am I combining Fitness and Fighting pools?
[/ QUOTE ]
You've added a melee attack to a pool that's based on Mobility. How is a punch helping mobility?
[/ QUOTE ]
Superspeed has Flurry, Flight has Air Superiority, and Leaping has Jump kick. I gave my pool a simple low damage punch to try and follow that setup.
[ QUOTE ]
You've got a Sprint toggle that apparently would stack with Sprint and gives you a defensive boost and immobilization protection, replacing the need for Weave or Combat Jumping.
[/ QUOTE ]
The sprint toggle is exactly the same as Combat Jumping but with a run boost instead of jump boost. Very small defensive boost.....same as CJ. How is that replacing CJ and Weave?
[ QUOTE ]
Then you've got a power that nearly directly replicates what Swift and Hurdle already do. That's two powers for the cost of one. Yeah, that part of it is new.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm not explaining it a 5th time, but the actual travel is stronger than Swift+Hurdle and it is a toggle. What your trying to say is Super jump is the same as Hurdle+Combat jumping or Super speed is the same as Swift+Sprint. This is just false.
[ QUOTE ]
And lastly you've got a power that duplicates what Hasten does combined with a buff more powerful than Aim and Build Up combined.
[/ QUOTE ]
This was a filler power that I tried to get creative with. If you don't like it fine, but it's less than half of what Hasten does, and less than half of what rage does....not excactly over powered IMO.
[ QUOTE ]
Actually it's really a combination of Fitness, Fighting, Super Speed and Jumping with Blaster powers sprinkled on top.
Sorry, never going to happen. If the devs ever make a new travel pool you can be sure that it will be a NEW travel pool, not a mishmash of other pools slammed together so that you can make the tightest build possible.
[/ QUOTE ]
Again, this has nothing to do with making a tighter build. Instead of taking CJ and Leaping on most of my characters I would take the two toggles from this one instead. It's comical how you folks think I'm trying to pull a fast one when all I'm doing is being completly staright forward and honest. This doesn't make for a "tighter" build in anyway that I can see. -
How ironic your calling me ignorant. You can't just take hurdle and Combat jumping like you say becuase then your still slow as hell. You also have to take Swift and leave Sprint toggled on. Thats three power choices, plus slots and your still not going to be jumping quite as high or running as fast as the travel power in my OP. I've explained this like 3-4 times now. I don't get how your not understanding it.
Superspeed gives you a boost of 350% to your run speed. Swift (35%)+ Sprint (50%) gives you a ttoal of 85% boost to run speed. The travel power in my OP would give you around 150% boost to run speed. About twice as fast as Swift+Sprint, and half of Super Speed.
Super jump gives you a boost of 2780% to jump height and 250% to jump speed. Combat Jumping give 200% to jump hieght and nothing to jump speed. Hurdle gives 166% to jump height and 125% to jump speed. So together CJ+Hurdle will get you 300% boost to height and 125% to jump speed. My travel power would give you around 5005% boost to height and 175% boost to jump speed.
So no, this travel doesn't already exist. Even if your use three power choices to get CJ+Swift+Hurdle slot them and use Sprint...you still can't quite equal my travel power suggestion and you have borked your build in the process. This would give you ONE travel power. -

Hey - question.
Why is the Defense Crash the same for Brutes and Tankers? Brutes have .75 Defense modifiers compared to the Tankers 1.0.
When Unyielding from Invulnerability debuffed defense, it had -5% Defense to Tankers, and -3.75% for Brutes and Scrappers. There's precedent. Is there an actual reason or is it just an oversight?
[/ QUOTE ]
That is a good question........Castle?
