He just said, that it will start when the feature starts. They don't give exact dates for things that are in the process of being debugged.

    [/ QUOTE ]

We'll have dates when we get closer to it. So, for right now, it's still in testing and "a little ways out." Or, as some prefer "Soon™."

Since this has come up so often, I guess I will leak a feature of Issue 8:

You can change your title at any of the following levels:

    15, 25, 35, and 45

At 50 you can change your title at any time.

You need to visit a trainer still to change your title and they "don't stack" (in other words, if you don't use your level 35 change, you don't have two changes when you hit level 45).

There is no Influence or Infamy cost associated with this.

RAWK. This is better than I could have hoped for.

Whew. I am jet lagged all to heck. Plus I caught the E3 flu that is going around AND had a Howies Monster Energy Drink Hangover (TM). Thanks to Obsidius and his leet camera I still look ok in the pics despite being low on end.

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone that came by the E3 booth to say hi or that came out to Howies to play Saturday. It was great to meet everyone. I know I took a few more pictures with you guys so I expect to see more out there soon!

I met so many fun people - from finally meeting sweet DJ Jester in person, to Nylonus who brought me a Starbucks card and a stuffed bear on behalf of Virtue, to Dave Williams from AEG who agreed to maybe make a CuppaJo card to Mantid who is a forum star in his own right, to the lovely ladies of MMORadio to discovering that when SagittaryGold and I stand next to each other we create a dynamic force field that makes cameras useless! Plus I got to hang out with the very funny Matt Miller and Serdar a ton. It was a great time - thanks to everyone!

I tried to find you at E3, but you were nowhere to be seen! ... It would probably have helped if I knew what you looked like, but still...
  4. Okay, I'm really getting jazzed by this news, but I have a semi-related question.

When bases were first introduced, it was said that the devs were going to be watching the prices of things, their use, etc to see if anything needs adjusting.

Has the decision been made the current prices are fine the way they are? I'm in an SG made up of casual gamers, and I gotta say that even though we've got a LOT of members, we're still ages away from getting anything even close to a working base. We can barely afford to get our hands on a working power and control room right now, let alone a teleporter, hospital, or workshop. And the nice luxury features? Forget about those, we're unlikely to ever get our hands on those.

I'm not looking to get a base tailor made to base raiding for dirt cheap, but it seems to me, personally, that casual SGs are not going to be managing to get most of this good stuff for a long time under this price structure.

    AT reps?

    [ QUOTE ]

Does each AT have a rep or is each AT supposed to be getting one? I think I've heard of _Castle_ as being the Stalker AT rep, though he does a lot of communicating to the community. Are there any other reps or are there going to be? Does anyone know?

    [/ QUOTE ]

That was the plan. As everyone knows, though, plans only work until you actually engage the enemy.

I'm not sure what the status of this is, but we've not forgotten about it.

I recall when in April of last year I first discovered CoH, and appreciated the simplicity, fun and addiction of it. Now it's developed into a nightmare where the voices of the masses remain unheard unless they are singing praises to something that was once great.

Quoted for Truth. This is exactly how I feel. I LOVED how the game was a year ago. It was a game that I actively told my friends to play.

Now, I'm telling them to save their money.

    What does that say? Really?

    I5

Coming from someone who looks to have just got the game, I hold very little weight to your statement. We've been playing one way for over a year.

This is not the same game that most of us bought at release. I didn't pay for the game as it is now, and I am not going to keep paying for it either. My account runs out in a little under a week. Until then, you better damn well believe that I'm going to let the Devs know exactly why I'm no longer going to pay to play this.

I have very little to say here that hasn't already been said.

I5 is not fun, and I haven't felt like logging in since the first time I did after it was released. I did the Croatoa TF, got a witch hat, said "Oh, that's cool," got a screenshot, and logged out.

I am not enjoying the game. I haven't even experienced the instability I've been hearing about because I HAVE NOT FELT THE DESIRE TO LOG IN.
  9. Doesn't SR get slow resistance with Quickness?
  10. Fraktal's post was a thing of beauty, I could not have put it into better words than that.

Having said that, I'm going to add my own two cents here.

I solo. I LIKE to solo. I have a handfull of friends in real life, let alone in this game. I'm lucky to see two people from my friends list log on in the entire stretch of three or four hours that I play.

I don't like pickup groups. If there is ANYONE here who can tell me that they have never once had a single bad experience in pickup grouping, I will eat one of my CoH manuals. (I'll top it with a bunch of other stuff, but I will eat it.) Pickup groups invite idiocy. Sure, a good amount of the time you don't get idiots. With some regularity, however, you'll get a group with a person who just doesn't know what they're doing. That person that you look at, and wonder to yourself, "Idiot or EBay?"

For those of you with massive groups of friends, this isn't an issue. Believe me, if I could get everyone I knew to play this game and always group with me, I would. I LOVE to group with people THAT I KNOW AND TRUST. It doesn't happen that often, though.

When my friends are on, they also tend to want to play the game too, sometimes solo. What do you do then? Hold your friendship up as incentive to make them group with you? Anyone who tried that with me would very quickly find themselves without a friend.

I don't mind the grouping aspects. I had an absolute BLAST doing the Respec when I was successful. I also had more than a half dozen nights where I felt like I wasted my time because the pickup group I got on for the respec was dumber than a hole in the ground. That is not an experience I like to repeat.

There are soloers in the game, we like to solo. We'll group when we WANT to. I can't speak for everyone, but when I don't wanna group, I try to avoid situations that call for it. I have avoided ALL forced grouping missions that were offered to me, because I don't like being forced to group. Every time I did the respec, or a TF, I did it because I wanted to.

The devs didn't think ahead, everybody exploited and it will probably be fixed next year.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Um - actually, this is exactly how we planned it. We had fun with it. And people seem to be having fun with it (hence the several threads). So, um, no, this isn't exploiting, IMHO.

Statesman, I too wanna add my name to the list saying "Thanks!"

This event is absolutely awesome, and I can't wait to get back into it tomorrow. I also can't wait to see what's coming at Christmas.
