Yes, but without you guys specifically saying that they were non-transferable in any way, it's not a false assumption to think they could be sold on the market. I've certainly never heard the Devs say something like, "You can get rare salvage by doing Task Forces 47 times in a row hoping for the random rare drop, trading in merits for a random roll and farming for the 22,000,000 it will take to buy a single critical piece on the market."

Quote:That's not the way I'd describe it. Admittedly, someone who is Natural is going to use Technology to some degree and it's hard to draw the line between the two, but "building" and "acquiring" would have nothing to do with it from my perspective. Col. Rhodes donning one of Iron Man's old suits and becoming War machine isn't Natural, he's Tech. Batman is on the cusp of Natural/Technology, fairly evenly balanced between the two. The Punisher, though, is Natural. The guy in a robotic suit could be Natural or Technology; the implication of being Technology (from Positron's comments in the Origins of Power arc) are that you built the suit yourself, while for Natural it's gear you acquired. You could equally argue that someone in a magic suit of armor was Natural.
That's how I see it. -
Quote:Read the book Proofiness: The Dark Arts of Mathematical Deception by Charles Seife for a look at how numbers can be twisted and torn to serve whatever ends you please.Dunno actually.
I just know that it always seems like numbers on some stat sheets can be seen moving from a mile away like a game of Three Card Monty -

Quote:Figures don't lie but liars figure. How's that saying go? "Numbers dont lie, but liars make the number"
These numbers are just sales, though, correct? NCSoft used to have subs as part of their info, too, but I think they did away with that. Two months after GR, Virtue and Freedom are consistently full, so subs must be doing pretty well. A $40 sale is probably equivalent to a monthly sub, after overhead, expenses and sharing it with retailers. Might even be less take-home than $15. -
Quote:That's funny. Also, interesting note: George Perez supposedly created Deathstroke during his run on Teen Titans as a nod to another of his own characters introduced during his run on the Avengers at Marvel... Taskmaster. So Deadpool is a knockoff of a DC alt of a Marvel character. Heh.
-
I didn't include Taskmaster because he wears a skull-like mask in every appearance I've seen him in, including the recent Siege. Same with Crossbones and Destroyer. (The recent Destroyer miniseries was pretty good, btw.) Vengeance is a Ghost Rider, basically, so if we're counting all the ghost riders individually then we'll have quite a few more characters. Atomic Skull and Doctor Phosphorous I'd never heard of before and had to look them up, but they definitely count. Maybe not Dr. P technically, since you're really seeing his skeleton through his skin, but it works for me.

Beats me; I loathe Deadpool and am not too familiar with Deathstroke. Lobo was a rip of Wolverine, though. (Of course, if we really pull the "inspired by" train out of the station, almost all of the original Timely/Marvel characters come from DC and many of DC's characters come from pulp sources.)
Quote:And having a skull for a head is a pretty common thing to do in comics. -
Except larger, one hopes. The new warehouse map pretty much just looks like a recolored version of the standard one. An entirely new set of maps set in an 120-year-old mansion-type hospital? Sweetness. Not gonna happen, prolly, but sweetness if it did.

Quote:That's what I had envisioned for Masterminds back in the day, actually. I was terribly disappointed with what we ended up getting. At the very least we should've been able to choose what the group looked like instead of being stuck with pre-chosen toons. The pets briefly outlined in that accidental slip of the incarnate first five slots (which went to normal test, not closed beta--so it's fair game to discuss here IMO) were all praetorian enemy group based: ie. a praetorian clockwork pet.
Honestly, this appeals very little to me as I tend to enjoy tight themes and concepts build-wise, especially when it comes to something as overtly aesthetic as a pet. But incarnate pet customization would be the bee's knees IMO if I could not only name my pet as MMs do, but select its power sets (or at least the aesthetics), modify the colors of said power sets and create a complete costume for my pet/npc sidekick using the CC.
And to make this wish list even MORE unlikely, would LOVE LOVE LOVE it if the costume of said hypothetical incarnate pet was tied to my costume slot, allowing me to customize that "sidekick's" appearance to match my character's varied looks.
Greedy. I know.
It would be beyond awesome to be able to create an entirely new character to be our sidekicks, making a tailored-to-suit companion. Robin for Batman, Speedy for Green Arrow, Bucky for Captain America, Krypto for Superman. (God, I'd love to have a superdog sidekick! And I know the hordes of catgirls would love supercats as sidekicks.) -
Quote:David outdid himself on that hospital. Hopefully we get to see more than just the lobby and the recovery Room, as in other hospitals.I wouldn't assume that's all that's in Issue 20.
This, for instance, isn't explained:

Pretty sure that this might be somewhat new also:

Quote:All's fair in love and comics. I watched Batman: Under the Red Hood the other night and DC has clearly ripped off both Deadpool (Red Hood) and Red Skull (Black Mask), so turnabout is fair play.Brainiac supported by what looks like forces from Apokolips no less.
Hmmm. I guess that means that in the wake of JLU's final episode, Destroyer, it turned out that Luthor did also resurrect Brainiac. Who then took over Apokolips and chose to invade an alternate earth rather than get trounced by the JLU yet again. Perfectly sensible choice in as far as comics logic is concerned.

Freaky. Anti-knife activist stabbed. That's irony for sure. Stabbed in the ***? Not so ironic.
Also, I've been ill, too, so it's kind of weird to see this thread title. -
The best thing about it? CGI Jeff no longer lives in Uncanny Valley. He looks great, now.
Second best thing? Friggin' lightjets. Imax 3D, day one, no questions. -
That is something I'm not opposed to. I hope it's that way. Oh, I hope, I hope!

That's if the thing drops for you. Guaran-damn-tee you *will* spend a billion on a single Incarnate IO if they become available on the open market. I know that's what *I* would sell one for.

Quote:It does seem crazy overpowered, which brings up the next question: what the heck will we be facing that needs nearly unlimited Damage and Endurance? But soloing Giant Monsters sounds like serious fun. Those look powerful! While I look forward to slooooowly making my way through the alpha slot, I can't help but be curious about how being an incarnate effects the rest of the game. Would it make some things too easy?
I'm sure it's been considered, tested, and tweaked in beta.
My fear is that it's going to end up like purple IOs -- hard to get single ones without farming, nearly impossible to get even a partial set. Since prices for purps are in the 150-300 million range, I'll never be able to afford even a single one in any reasonable time frame. Incarnate IOs will likely be an order of magnitude more difficult to acquire.
I guess it's time to finally give in and have one of my toons on Freedom start farming AE like crazy so I can earn enough Influence to afford this stuff. Two billion ought to be a good start to get a couple of them. -
Quote:All the answers to why the Midnighters did/will not go back in time to prevent the Rikti invasion are held in the Book of K'Gar.Seriously! If I had done everything one's Hero had theoretically done, I'd go straight to the Midnighters pre-Rikti and say "Just a heads up, your people are going to die in the dozens (maybe hundreds) because you alone had the power to prevent a war that should have never happened."
