Quote:Unsurprisingly, blame the giant eyeballs.. . . and "Invisibility detection" are definitely in the mix.
Even worse, the guys with the -defense have crazy +to hit, so they can punch right through your defense to start the debuffing.Quote:There are also heavy mezzes and if I'm not going senile lots of -Defense.
You can take breaks during a Dr Q. The last few times I've done it, we took dinner breaks. Yes, I've done it enough times to refer to "the last few". And it usually doesn't take 5 hours. I think my best time, which just happened to be a good team - making zero effort to 'hurry', was around 3:40. Around 4-1/2 hours is more typical.Quote:Doc Q 5 hours (for argument sake) 122 Merits
Synapse 2 hours 58 Merits
Sister Psyche 1.5 hours 50 Merits
Moonfire 1.5 hours (or less) 32 Merits
----------------------------------------------------------------
TOTAL 5 hours (probably less) 140 Merits
With around the same investment of time I can earn more merits doing those 3 TFs. I can take sanity breaks between TFs as opposed to 5 straight hours of grind (or splitting the thing over 2 days). -
Aware of what? The lag in the ITF? Seems like some selective memory on your part. They most certainly have posted about the lag, in depth, and discussed the probable causes.

Quote:My badger was my first 50. He hit 50 long before merits came along. He has close to 4,000 merits, having already spent well over 2,000. If you play a lot, you can't help but end up swimming in merits.I guess I just don't play enough... The most merits I have on any one character is about 350, and that is my main badger that I play the most. I know that if he hadn't been 50 already before merits came out, I wouild have had a lot more from the TFs and arcs I did along the way.

Use the little button that looks like a postcard to insert an image. The code will look like this:

I just grabbed the logo at the top of the page since it was there and already being loaded for each page anyway. Just like your avatar, the image has to be hosted somewhere else. -

Ironic badge -- very disappointed

You don't want to go max height unless you have a specific reason. I've gone max height exactly twice ever.
1) To team with a friend whose character was female and max height. (She had blue skin and was wearing a bikini and high heels, but that's not relevant.
)
2) For contrast. I have a character who normally looks like a mousy librarian (conservative clothes, glasses) but changes to a max height catgirl (yay Science Booster).
If you want to be noticeably taller than most of the people around you, go about 6' 6" on the (almost useless) scale in the character creator. -
(shrug) Look at his location:
That kind of stuff always drives me nuts. If something is going to be seen over and over, by many people, put in a little extra effort. I once saw a store with a sign that had letters two feet tall that said "STATIONARY". Yeah, we know the building isn't moving. What's your point?Quote:Location: Warning, Experineces on the net may change. -
Quote:No.Please for the love of Pete take EXP AWAY from AE all together. Then you will find out who\ss really using AE for story telling and who isnt.
I don't PL and I don't farm AE missions. But, if you take away the XP in AE, I'd use it even less than I do now.
When I use AE, I play arcs for the stories. I look for arcs by people I know. I look for arcs that I have heard good things about. If they took away the XP, I simply wouldn't bother.
Am I being perfectly clear? I play AE for the stories and if the arcs gave zero XP, I would not be playing them. Maybe I'm weird, but I like to feel that I'm making some kind of progress while playing. It can be XP, prestige, merits, but I need something. -
Well?
List of winners?
Screenshots?

Quote:Going back to the original post; I don't think there has actually been a 'rise' in this type of behavior. We've had people making this observation for YEARS. This has always been going on. You just happened to witness it X times in one week so it stuck in your mind.Recently I have noticed a rise in the "We need a tank!" or "We need a healer" mentality, even from people I would consider as veterens with 30+ months under their belt, or otherwise intelligent players who have the awareness to join TF related chat channels.
It's like all those threads we see where people have 'proof' that the randomness of drops is broken. It's all about perception. You got lucky and went a month without running into morons. Then you drew the short straw and got back-to-back muttonheads.

No. Adding content is good. Deleting content is bad. Even if YOU don't happen to care for it. No one ever has to do the old Positron TF again, if they don't want to. But, if someone does, it's there.
-
hmm... maybe he likes task forces a lot?
I blow all my merits on random rolls when my characters get to around level 35 and they typically have between 300 and 400 merits at that point. I noticed a few days ago that I forgot to do that on one toon. He's level 41 and has about 600. If I didn't blow them on random rolls, I'd have quite a few toons with over 1,000. I continue to play toons after they hit 50. Also, I have a blaster with XP turned off at level 37. He has about 1900.
So a 'non-main' toon could easily have 900. -
We've run Positron through Manticore in order. However, I know some people are using toons in the level range and may not be keeping up and might not be 35 in time to run Numina if we were to do that one next week.
So.... this Saturday, I'll be running the Ernesto Hess TF (level 25+), followed by the Katie Hannon TF (level 30+).
As a reminder, both of these contacts must be unlocked in advance. I will have a character who has them unlocked but, if we end up with two teams, we'll need someone else who has them unlocked. (Or I can start the TF for the team, then quit team and start it for the other team.)
1. Ironblade - Jenni Everywhere (WS) for Hess; Agent Pitchblende (earth/rad) for Katie
2. Simian Stalker - whoever needs the badges
3. AngelicaVenger - Taxi Glowstick (rad/rad defender)
4. Gillian Boardman - some kind of bunny
5. Brain Boy... I mean Psy Kid - tentative
6. Ullikummis - Palms of Ash (fire/em tank)
7. Dr A Science - Battousai (scrapper)
8. Arrowny - Karen Redfield - Katie TF only
9. Cortikal - Cool, needing two teams again. -
Well, we had 11 people show up, did some recruiting and rolled with two teams of eight.

Quote:Sorry, but you are wrong. There are plenty of "top supergroups" that got high in the ranks without farming, grinding, whatever and who are about the people. I know. I run one. And I know of (or am a member of) several others.Just to add to everyone else's comments, the "top supergroups" are the supergroups that have farmed the most prestige, plain and simple. Very rarely will you run across any friendship or camaraderie in one of them. As a member, you are merely a tool to get more prestige to keep them in the top slots on the server, in a warped competition with other supergroups doing the same.

Quote:You make it sound like you could end up running that arc again and again. You can only be given ONE of those contacts. You can only have one contact per origin for each 'level band' (i.e. 10-15, 15-20, etc). That wouldn't be a good idea, given that there are a lot of duplicate contacts with the exact the same missions. The Vahzilok Plague, for example, is available from four different contacts. I don't know about you, but I've never been super eager to fight techno-zombies in sewers.
Additionally, you can have contacts outside the origin structure (like the ones in Faultline, Striga, RWZ, etc, etc). -
You can. With the emphasis on LITTLE. After all, Superman had alien technology and Batman was a billionaire.
-
I'm not sure when it was fixed, but I can tell you it's working now.
I did a flashback an hour ago and both of us got all the challenge badges that were set. -
Are there options for the 'Useful Salvage' and 'Large Listing Fee' prompts? It doesn't look like those are getting fixed in the foreseeable future.
-
On 9 toons out of 10, I couldn't tell you what power I'll be taking for my next pick. When I actually get to pick a power, I'll read up on the options and pick one. The only time I know in advance what I'll be picking is at certain key levels - like Stamina at 20 for toons that need it, the nuke at 32 for blasters, etc.
-
You feel some need to discriminate against people in the 35-39 range? What's wrong with the Imperious TF? We KNOW what the level range is. It's a fine TF for 40+ characters.
