Quote:Exactly. I didn't know the forums existed initially and didn't register on them for over a year. And I don't post much, either.I'm an example of this. I've been playing the game since 2008. I didn't register on the forums for over a year and don't post that often.
What? The word "much" is entirely subjective! -
Kick the staged download to the curb and just use the NCSoft Launcher. Yes, it doesn't let you play while downloading... but it WORKS.

Quote:Cap Buster is for defeating Redcaps, wherever you find them.Is the only way to get Cap Buster to kill the 330 redcaps? Paragon Wiki not totally clear. I thought you could get it just completing the Snaptooth (DJ Zero) mission one time?
There is another badge, Toothbreaker, specifically for defeating Snaptooth (5 times). -
I got nuthin' on the mouse problem.
Quote:Recommended by whom? If you're talking about the FAQ on NCSoft's web site, it's full of wishful thinking. Try turning the settings down, maybe by a lot. If the problem goes away, that means your system is underpowered.First of is stuttering and a terrible performance at the recommended settings for my system.
That's an awfully low-end graphics card for this game. Also, you really need more RAM. You're running a 64-bit version of Win7 and you have 2GB? This game can take around 1.3GB all by itself. -

Quote:Let me expand on this.If you have Saved Costumes that you want to keep, you make extensive use of player notes or you have AE arcs that you may want to revise then you may want to copy those over.
"If you have Saved Costumes that you want to keep, you make extensive use of player notes or you have AE arcs that you may want to revise then you..."
SHOULD BE BACKING THESE FILES UP ON A REGULAR BASIS!
Seriously. When you have a hard drive crash, or some other incident that causes a lost of data, if the data loss is permanent then the only correct explanation for how it happened is "I was lazy and/or stupid." I've seen people with their livelihood stored on the computer lose it all because they had no back-ups.
I remember an audio file that was making the rounds years ago. It was a guy calling tech support. They had serviced his laptop and, in the process, had wiped the hard drive. The only copy of his doctoral thesis had been on that drive - "Two years of my ******* life!", as he phrased it. Gee, too bad, dude. You messed up.
If you have ANYTHING on your computer that you don't want to lose, you should be backing up EVERYTHING.

Go to the forum section for your server and:
1) See what global channels are active for that server. If there isn't a list or post about it, just ask.
2) See if there are any scheduled task forces. Infinity, for example, has task forces and trials with sign-up on the forums. Same day and time each week; different task force (usually we start with Posi 1 and work our way up in level). -
Home, home on the ranch.
Where the beer and the cantaloupe...... -
Yeah..... I'm thinking that anyone talking about "dead realms" doesn't actually know the game well enough to have an informed opinion on the naming system.

Quote:Huh... I remember that game.I'd written a free game series for the Apple II, "The Wonderful World of Eamon". It was free, people could make copies as they wanted, they started to spread.
I had a Radio Shack TRS-80, then Commodore Amiga, then IBM PC - but a friend of my brother had an Apple and had that, one of the Ultima games and some other stuff. -

Quote:It's not a question of 'need'; it's a question of 'want'. We want them. By "we", I mean "most of the players".Honestly, I don't see why we need unique names in the first place.
Quote:Of course it's a bit late for this now. But City2 is only, what, five years away?
Quote:Why, when we already have an infinitude of excellent names to use? -
Similar to last weeks TF (Imperious), this is a co-op task force so characters of any alignment can join.

Quote:Coincidentally, I have the same response to your post: So?No offense, I like you, and you've helped me out with a couple things in the past, but I really thought you were above measuring parts you don't even technically have.
Insert my stock response to anyone who does this: So?
I found her post amusing.
Don't actually care whether or not anyone else did. -
Quote:What, were you trying to solo the spawns? All of my squishy characters have this problem unless they follow someone tougher who can take the aggro. Why should masterminds be any different?I retired him when the BAF/LAM came out because he just couldn't keep up. He wasn't soft caped and his low health meant he would die every other spawn. I just stopped playing him because I knew that no matter what I did he was useless in the new endgame.
And yet, despite this low survivability that you claim makes them useless, I have six squishies (controllers, defenders) up to level 50+3 incarnate status.
Not seeing a problem. -
Quote:Question: If all you're interested in is the Hero Merit, why are you actually changing alignment?Because saying something can be done and actually doing it are two different things, I continued to run tip missions and confirmed hero status this afternoon, then ran SSA1 for my weekly hero merit. I think this is pretty neat -- it takes 10 days to go from hero to villain and back and confirm hero status again, but since you can have 10 vigilante tips already run without being a vigilante yet, and can run your SSA immediately after confirming hero status, you really can do two SSA's 7 days apart for hero merits while still making the full round trip journey.
1. Run 10 hero tips and a hero morality mission to confirm alignment.
2. Run 10 hero tips and a hero morality mission to get a hero merit.
3. Repeat step 2.
You can get a hero merit every 2 days using the tip system. -
