Hmm. If I were you, I'd check for a voodoo doll, Aero. *nods sagely*
[/ QUOTE ]
Those dolls actually originated in European magic and have little to no connection to African Voodoo -

As if that would work. It seems to me that, in general, the publics impression of Video games is tainted the same way the gaming communities view of a PVPer is tainted. It doesnt matter if their are exceptions or if it is even the majority. It is the few bad games/players who warrant its removal.
The gaming community is much smaller yet we can't come to some sort of reasonable understanding about that. How are we supposed to alter the perception America has on video games? Insanity is insanity anywhere. You can't reason with it.

I'm getting dangerously close to expressing my opinion on this issue, so I'm going to let a cliche do it for me.
"It's better to light a candle than to curse the darkness."
If you underestimate the value of a single person with the drive to do something great, well, I don't know what to tell you. Except that somehow America did manage to win its independence way back when it took on the superpowers of the day. I think that's inspiring enough to show that anything's possible in this country, y'know?
The one thing that gets me frustrated, though, is seeing outrage and frustration become impotent rather than productive. Issues like these, where it comes to culture, are more about willpower then they are about financing or numbers.

But you still needed coaxing to fight for those same rights during World War 2 though -

Hey Paladin. Valid. Specific suggestions?

Me neither... And saddly/luckly my contry is alot less sue-happy then the US of A... so no one would bother....

Don't have one either.
If past trends are any indication, my country is likely to follow the US's lead in whatever they decide for computer/videogames.

You live in the UK? generally speaking we've often rejected more "elaborate" calls for laws over issues like this, hell this subject came up again last September and was quickly ignored into oblivion. -

That is too cute, DB! I especially like the look.
Sovereign, Dragonberry is scaly from head to toe, being a dragongirl and all. So nothing's going to show unless she's REALLY excited.
[/ QUOTE ]
I know, I just liked the fact she wears a scarf and leg warmers but no pants -

But if you do... please.. please.. please... find an Outdoor location and take the screenies during the Daytime cycle. SO many times I see Players showing off the 'perfect screenie' of their characters.. and it was taken down some in-game dark Alley at Night or some sewer-mission, and you need a blow-torch to make out the silhouette of their body.
[/ QUOTE ]
I have trouble sometimes with low level villains but it's generally not an issue. -

Actually, someone with some decent editing skills splice in Superman from Superman the game in place of Statesman and send it back asking for their opinion...
[/ QUOTE ]
Why stop there? With video editing and related software so doable these days, a hobbiest could take that same soundtrack and substitute in various promo-video shots of everything from 'Superman,' to 'ToonTown' to 'Hello Kitty, Online' and make this even more of a alarmist-farce hilarity than it already is.

Do it with Care Bears and My Little Pony. -

I'm extremely disappointed that an image of Statesman would be used in such a way. I know that we designed City of Heroes to appeal to "children of all ages." My proudest accomplishment with the game is that many parents (including my brother) play with their children...sharing, I hope, the same joy for the comic book world that I've had ever since I was 8. I cannot express the shock that I felt seeing that a character created by Cryptic would be used in the same sentence as Columbine.
[/ QUOTE ]
If that footage is copyrighted by NCSoft or Cryptic, I recommend you contact the producers of that film to have it removed. By using images of Statesman, the filmmakers not only impugned the noble (and American) ideals Statesman represents, but also destroyed any credibility they may have possessed--City of Heroes is not a violent or base game.
Statesman's inclusion into that trailer constitutes slander. It utterly misrepresents City of Heroes.
[/ QUOTE ]
Wouldn't it be possible to use their blunder AGAINST them? Get the word out there.. throw in the American ideal stuff.. show as many people as possible what all this BS about video games really is.. alarmist propaganda. A few people are trying to spread fear and terror to the masses through ignorance. Shouldn't we be doing everything possible to uncover these types of people for what they really are?
I just know doing nothing won't work..
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes but people already know they're politicians, we can't vilify them any more than that -

Ominous Music? Check!
Exaggeration? Check!
Clear focus to let anyone follow their reasoning from point A to point B?.........
It's the same style of scare tactics/scapegoating that has been around for over a generation.
[/ QUOTE ]
And if you'd swapped out the "violent" bits and put say, Jewish people in there and described how they're destroying our society you could have had a Nazi propaganda film.
The same old tactics never die. -

Because we live in a world today that likes to blame others for our own actions rather than taking account of our own indiscretions.
I guess next they'll target books as well for being violent, especially history books, what about news programmes as well? what then happens when there's nothing left to blame these "problems" on? -

I've lived in Korea for 5 years... some are a little partial the the "C" spelling (there is a legend that during the Japanese occupation of Korea, that the Japanese changed the original spelling that of a "K" - so that it would folow Japan alphabetically)

Yeah this pretty much explains it:
K or C -

I'm obviously no match for any of you. Seriously. This is all I got.
But each has a backstory to them!
Green Regis: Backstory in Signature.
Blue Ruby: Girl born with 3rd eye. She later on in her life learned that her eye gave her the ability to make powerful mental projections and manipulate force.
Prince Corprus: An ancient french prince, cursed by a fortune teller to live for eternity. He is skilled in necromancy, and is trying to use the magic to put himself to his final rest.
Beetle 21: A fashion model who was captured by Crey. Expirimentation turned her into a rhino beetle-woman, with strong armor and incredible strength. Of course, she's really angry that she's a monster, now.
Diamondgard: Profile in Sig.
Shaded Fox: A robotic assassin built by the same people who built Green Regis. He was built to kill him, and has claws. As well as lightning reflexes and special equipment.
Firestorm Viper: Sig.
Destruction's Dawn: Blue Ruby's sister; she was born with the ability to both project bolts and make shields of energy.
Demon's Redemption: Sig.
Fury Link: A youth born with the ability to endlessly spout radioactive energy, he uses golden chains to contain his imense power.
Hagane-Tatsujin: I wanted to play Green Regis, but not be Green, so this guy was the result. In the end, I guess he's just his sidekick.
Bloody Battery: A mutant born a humongous monster, he was a huge, flesh-eating monster as a child, and even as a grownup, he likes to feast on the flesh of humans. His human food eventually gave him electric powers.

Love the look of Shaded Fox -

I hate spandex. >.> Sometimes I'll make a tights alt costume for one of the girls but generally, I'm not a fan. I think it looks boring 90% of the time, and I don't enjoy playing character concepts that call for the look. Just personal preference.
I'm one of those weirdos who plays this game obsessively but doesn't really like comics. I'm more of a manga fan. All I need are some outrageously oversized weaponry and I can pretend I'm playing City of Manga.

Not a big Gatchaman fan then? -

I think my newest hero would better fit the Calender. As i'm told he is more hotter then Mr. Awesome (and less creepy smiley).
Captain Cosmic
