1) Anyone figured out how to dual-box on the Mac client? On windows, I just start up one instance, let it load, and then start the other.
2) Any ETA on when this gets to pointing at Live (not Test)? -

Bug Description: Adjusted Targeting IO set no longer grants its +2% damage set bonus for having two slotted in a single power. I noticed this because my global damage bonuses were smaller in the Combat Attributes monitor. In the detailed monitor I can account for the bonuses I retain as coming from other sets, and there are no 2% bonuses listed. This is new as of I13.

Bug Description:
Outfitted 4 2-slot sets of Zephyr IOs onto my blaster -- in Fly, SS, SJ, and Hover. Initially on slotting the sets (2 IOs, 4x) my +Def as monitored in Combat Attributes properly increased -- for both ranged and aoe. However, a few minutes later on zoning, the bonuses disappeared from my +def and do not appear to have returned. Toggling the travel powers doesn't seem to kick-start the bonuses either (nor should it).

Still would like to hear from Smurphy why he's chosen Pain MM ... from a min/max perspective my sense is that Dark or even Traps (depending on how bad nerfs end up) are more effective for hard targets (e.g., AVs). Maybe even TA.

I was going to do this with 2-3 of my accts on the next 2xp weekend, but just for myselfLevel pact some toons, farm like crazy. But I thought I was extreme with 3 accts lols.
Why Pain MMs btw? Set is weak IMHO compared to Dark or even /Traps depending how bad the ultimate nerfs are. -

I made a fire/fire blaster because it seemed interesting and I do both solo and pickup groups with a great deal of success, and I get invited back, so I don't think I'm seen as slacking or letting others carry the load. Basically, I've got the two single-target ranged attacks (flares and fire blast, I think?) fully slotted and can generally fire one after the other pretty much continously and not burn much endurance, and that chews through minions pretty hard. For LTs and bosses, I'll use inspirations, plus Aim and Buildup and lead off with the sniper attack, and the high damage short range attack if they get too close to me. If I'm soloing, I'll use Ring of Fire to hold the bad guys out of melee and light them up. It's very rare that I'm in XP debt and I'm level 32 now. I took Fire Sword Circle and the other PBAoE, but I only use them if I'm completely surrounded and can't get out, I'll use my Insight and Enrage inspirations, fire those two off, and pray.

Fire/Fire remains a great combo ... damage plus more damage! Your melee AOEs are also a great addition when teaming assuming someone else can hold or control aggro. Continue to enjoy your burning goodness! -
Be careful because the surpression times on FF +rech mean it could surpress itself over and over again ... see Inventions Lab forum for details.

Don't forget to buy those Steadfast Protection Res/Def IOs, they give relatively decent +res (esp the lvl 30 ones) and +3% global def!!

All the lvl 40+ recipes I'm checking (all of them) are basically trading at 1/4 of their crafting value. Niche seems DEAD for now.

That error is normal, you can dismiss it and the game will run anyway. It just means the emulated graphics system doesn't support some instruction CoH uses, it can work around it usually.
Make sure you're using Crossover GAMING, and not Crossover or Crossover Pro.

The game still launches, then I can get to the character selection screen, but when I log in I usually crash as soon as the zone loads. Or right afterwards. Like, I'll zone in, and then as soon as I start to move, or if I move the trays around, it crashes. Is it a graphics-setting issue?
I am using an application called "CrossOver Games" so I imagine that's the right one you're talking about.
Any tips on doing the install "properly"? -
I dl'd the trial verison of Crossover ... I'd appreciate some input from anyone who has successfully installed COX. I dl'd the game client updater and ran it (under crossover, which I think created a pseudo-"C drive" in one of its default "bottles") but I'm not sure I did the install right.
Now when I run COX I get an error saying something like "GL_Vertex" not supported video driver ...

this doesn't happen when I run the version I installed on my Vista installation on the same MacBook pro.

Your understanding is wrong. Energy Torrent in the EPP is actually KnockDOWN (KD) not Knockback ... it's a mag 0.67 (I believe) just like FootStomp which makes it KD on even-con or higher mobs. I have it on my /SR and love it. It also can be slotted with 2 damage procs (Posi, Explosive Strike). -

I've seen the Ambush summoned by Rommy actually make it up to the tower a few times. They come up the mountain side and jump onto the tower. Takes some time though.
Most of the PUGs i've gone up there with don't seem to find it any easier.
That said, most of the PUGs I'm with also get pwned by the Ambush on the platform if we stay down there. I always warn them it's going to happen, and even try to assign scrappers or brutes to "Ambush duty," but it still seems to pwn people. And I'm stuck taunting the healing nictus so I can't get over there and tank the ambush.
Then again most PUGs I'm with also let the summoned essences pwn them -- nobody uses their AOE controls against the summons, they just leave em there shooting at people. I try to taunt but sometimes I'm too far away occupied with the healer.
Any suggestions on this.
Also my runs lately are around 1.35 to a tee.
Time sinks are the 2nd mission (crystals) where basically killing every ambush takes time -- and most PUGs can't do the "skate through" (Cheaty-Face) strategy well, so we always have to kill all.
The 3rd mission is also a huge time sink -- it seems more laggy lately even at the console (as does the 4th mission). Any suggestions on speeding up the general killing? I've tried keeping the team just ahead of the bridge and pulling generals back to the team, but the ambushes still pwn people. And when I try to just get peeps to kill the gens and move ahead to the next general, there's still a lot of dying.
If either of these could be done faster, we could get this down to an hour at least probably. -
Had an exceptionally fun bug this morning on Freedom where in the last mission, there were actually 2 versions of Romulus standing on the steps. One was the full nictus version and the other was the 3rd mission AV version.
I was able to taunt the Nictus version to the far end of the platform alone. The essences stayed behind with the other version. Because the essences were still in LOS with the nictus Rom, he consumed them when he died. After his 4th death, the TF ended. But for kicks we went up and beat the snot out of the other Rommy who was just standing there. Good times! -

You clearly run with teams (PUGs?) that don't whine when you try the tower strategy. -

OK thanks. I was more interested in seeing the targets and the combat logs on the screen. And showing what powers were being clicked, when. I think I'll need a fraps-type to do that.

Update - except most people [censored] about going to the tower and trying to pull him rather than killing everything. PUGs are making me angry.

Tried to do it the Cheaty-Face way with a PUG and frankly the first 2 mish were unmitigated disasters. No way we could take down the mobs w/o dying and squishies always got pwned by the sploding crystals. I think you need a team that's got the right buffs and knows what they're doing.
That said, we did pull rommy to the tower which is just awesome. -
I recorded a demo of RWZ Challenge but it doesn't show any of the UI (target, chat etc.). Is that info there and just hidden? Or do you need to specify it shows when you first record the demo?
I wanted to post it so peeps could see the RWZ Challenge.

When you are in the first 2 mish, how do you not aggro all the stuff around the crystal or around the sibils -- I'm assuming you all have stealth of some sort (IO plus SS maybe), but when you engage the crystal, don't all the guards around it (the squids) pound the crap out of you?
EDIT: I watched the vid and it looked like you just ran in and took the hits as you killed the crystals -- yet i know on my WP scrapper all that neg energy dmg really pwned me, from the mobs around it. And squishies always die when it explodes. Maybe Elec has better neg energy damage or you were really buffed nicely.
And the ambushes don't follow u past where the crystal was? Didn't know that.
Have to try pulling Rom up on the tower. That is awesome. Neat
EDIT 2: Watched the vid -- you guys move so fast together as a team I get the sense this wasn't primarily a PUG? Most of the groups I've done this with, people don't even know how to stealth past mobs or, in the last mish, do the thing where you all basically went up to the tower. My teams (all pugs) couldn't get up to that tower unless I went up there and used Vet Team TP to bring everyone -- and then someone would not take the TP, or someone would back up and fall off the tower
I have to give kudos to what looks like a team that really knows what it's doing. Even in the third mish, the way you went right to the bridge w/o aggroing -- again nbne of the teams I've been on can do that, someone always aggros or runs off to the side.
