I've been done with Defenders for a while now, I have a lvl 50 Kin and Emp defender that I love to play, but they cover that AT for me, I am more then happy to have the rest of my support characters be controllers, MMs, and CORRUPTERS. I also havent enjoyed blasters in a long time, so again, corrupters have replaced them for me, but that was even before GR.
I am glad that I will not get stuck as a scrapper if I want a melee hero that can bring some damage to the table, I am a brute fanatic, and would always prefer playing one of them, so that is 3 hero ATs I no longer feel a need to make (Well, 5 if you count epics).
GR didn't change much for me in that regard, but it did give me more options, which I am very happy about.
As far as where I start...I want to experience all the content and storylines, which you pretty much need 4 characters to do, and you almost have to do it solo, because you can easily make it to 20 solo before all the story arcs in a single path are done, teaming makes it even faster, but once that is done, it is unlikely I will make more Praetorians unless my friends all decide to make a group of new characters to go there, simply because I don't like being bound to the 3 zones. I think they are amazing, but the fact that I cannot just go jump in a mission in Talos or St Martial with my friends on a character I have been playing and enjoying is a deal breaker for me. I do not mind making a villain, getting them to 20, and starting to cross them over if I wanted them to be a hero. -
Quote:As far as this example goes, I think that is a great idea, but I have used the existing tank top to blend with tight pants before, for a smooth, sleek look.Sure. Not saying that this is in the queue or anything, but take a look at the tank top. Currently, it's a simple cut-out without any details. Now look at a real-world tank top (like this one http://www.undershirtguy.com/wp-cont...n-tank-top.jpg) and note the trim and stitching along the edges and bottom. Also note the subtle folds and even subtler fabric texture. These are things that could be improved in an updated texture. Would it still be a plain white tank top? Of course! But it'd be a lot more realistic and convincing.
I am not one of those people that would freak out about this change, it's an alt I rarely play, just giving an example of how even things like that can be used.
Personally, I really think this would be a case-by-case basis, and there will be people that will flip out if a piece is replaced completely, no matter how simple.
Still, I would love to see a not-skin-tight T-Shirt... -
I've been doing this mainly when my normal group is not around, and generally have different strategies based on how long I have.
If I am going for speed, I load up my favorite Ouro farm (Video Games Made Me Do It) at -1/x6 and run through that until I have 3 tips (most you can hold). I then drop to -1/x1 and then skip most of the mobs along the way. If by the end of the third mission I havent gotten a tip, I will either start cleaning up the map, or do the Ouro mission again until I get two more.
If I have more time, I generally go for killing all the mobs that I see (but not going out of my way to clear) for drops, so I will load up a newspaper mission and go until I have a tip, and set it to -1x4 (too many various mobs for me to want to go all out), and if at any point I run out of tips, I load up that same newspaper mission and go until I get another.
My tip drops have been rather good so far, I have gone entire tip missions without getting any, but 90% of the time I get one in a newspaper mission within the first 5 kills. I almost feel like the drop rate is different in newspapers/radios than other missions, because even in my Ouro farm at x6 I have gotten halfway through before getting a single drop, while on a two floor newspaper I had for a while where usually only 3 Malta would spawn on the first floor, I almost never had to go up to the second.
So 3D, you go to Dark Astoria and kill big mobs there for tip drops? Are you running a 50? I didn't know enemies that much lower than the player would drop tips...worth looking into. Half of my villain tips send me to Port Oakes anyway. -
Master of CoP? Enemies buffed, players debuffed? No enhancements or inspriations?
We could make this hard. -
Doh, didnt see this thread until now, just been going strait to the old one.
I was on as an archery/trick arrow corrupter, logged off somewhere into 11, and will be 13 by next run. -
Dorian Quinn, Archery/TA corrupter is in Nova, level 2, and a member of the resistance, ready for tomorrow!

So, this Wednesday, or next?

I would like more eyebeams in various sets personally. That's something that could fit fire, energy, dark, psychic, ect.
My biggest request for this would be that you take a look at what you already did for Super Strength and Martial Arts, and try to duplicate that for any powers that you do this with. If you take two super strength characters now, have them go through the same powers, but do different animations, TOTALLY new feel to the character now, they seem like they have different powers. THAT is what made the idea for me. Taking fire blast and giving them the option to use all the animations from Ice Blast would not help. -
Friend who hasnt logged into the forums possibly ever is having trouble, but his info is @Blue Light.ning, and he is bringing Charged Torch

I'd really prefer starting in Praetoria, and not having a SG until we get out does not bug me at all. I would rather be able to access Corrupters instead of setteling for a Defender I will probably be bored with, and get to smash some new faces.
Now, usually Isos involve multiple teams running, right? Couldnt there be a non-Praetorian team for those who dont have the pack, or want SGs badly enough to skip the new area? -
The way I see the alignment system, it barely changes my plan to have most characters be in the middle. You really only need one character you plan to play fairly often be a "true" hero/villain, because you can buy merits and send them to another character. This will take longer, but it isnt going to stop me from sending my stone tank to take on the strike forces, or anything like that. Some of my characters that would be beneficial to most any team, like stone tank, rad, ect, will be in the middle, while the characters that I perfer to play will be "Pures" for the merits.

Well, with the last name of Floyd, a nickname I have gotten many times from different people over the years has always been "Pink". (For those of you who dont get it, Pink Floyd...the band...). I used to fight the nickname, then became mostly indeferent to it, and finally just went with it.
At one of the jobs I used to have everyone in the office, including my boss, only referred to me as "Pink", and one of the people there always would write the word-of-the-day from dictionary.com on his white board. One day he came up to me very excited because the word meant pink. He showed me, and I thought the word Incarnadine sounded far more badass than Pink, so I started using it online. Since most people don't know what it means I usually do either "The Incarnadine" or simply "Incarnadine".
So yeah, the mysterious orgins of my username, finally revealed. -
I'll give it a whirl, @Incarnadine, will be on TimeTraveller

If I remember correctly the first time the mission was introduced it was limited to 5 times per person, the next year it was unlimited.
I cannot confirm this though. -
Nope, mission is repeatable now, was limited originally.
-
It has, but I don't remember where, I think I saw it in one of the videos of PAX or something.
Loyalist means you serve Cole and his empire, since these are the guys that are constantly invading Paragon City, started the Rikti War, ect, it makes sense that they would be the villains.
Keep in mind, you are not tied to this choice at all, like everyone else you will be able to switch alignments as many times as you want, if you do the missions we dont know much about yet. -
Why would you think that they cannot leave Praetoria? The official information is you do level 1-20 content that will pick your Praetorian alignment (Resistance or Loyalist) and when you finish the Praetoria zones you go to the alignment appropriate for what you were in Praetoria...Resistance is Hero, Loyalist is Villain.
People seem confused that this is like CoV when they released 1-40 content and later went back and did 41-50, while they may expand on Praetoria later, it is going to be 1-20 and then you leave. -
At this point I've decided on an archery/trick arrow corrupter, need TA to add to my collection of support types, and I have a build that will end up being debuff-debuff-rain of arrows-repeat, without purples. Really looking forward to this one. Really looking forward to playing with new costume pieces and all that, but this toon will be ready to go whenever the isolator run starts.

Rabble rabble rabble!
...RABBLE!
Seriously guys...chill. The content is not lost to us for all time, this has been something Positron has been working on himself, and I seriously doubt he will let it fall through the cracks after getting everyone excited, because it is not powerful enough.
I don't have a clue as to how "weak" it was, or how "strong" it was supposed to be, but seriously, would it make you happier to go through a 6 hour session of playing (or whatever) and being rewarded with Brawl II: Brawl Harder?
Let them make things more powerful! Complain about it enough, and they might just give us a second brawl to make us shut up. -
Quote:Just for the sake of ending this discussion and moving on, this is ONE of the places where it was said. Here is a video of the table at PAX East where Positron explained the Incarnate system, said the first level would be included in GR, and all that.Okay. Show where the Incarnate system was explained as being included with Going Rogue?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NT9O0HM2-QM (start about 6 minutes in for the info in question)
That being said, I fully support the idea of delaying something a little longer if it was not working as expected, ESPECIALLY if it is because it is not allowing us to become as powerful as the devs wanted. I know at one point during a Q&A session Positron said something along the lines of the Incarnate system will make us more powerful...and we're going to need it.
I hope that this does not delay issue 19 from being released sometime near the end of the year, but if it does, oh well. -
I was one of the people who did not get CoV at launch, and for those of you that remember, that meant I did not get all the cross-over costume options, I did not get access to bases (that's when those were introduced), and of course did not get to participate in any of the new content except the PVP zones. It sucks, but it also makes sense. I shouldn't get new content in Halo 3 if I don't go buy the new game.
GR isn't an issue, it was never presented as an issue, it is an expansion. Issue 18 is not big, but it's bigger then I expected. CoP was a surprise to me, and I'm looking forward to the new challenge. People who do not get the expansion get a heck of a lot more content then if they didnt get CoV at release. -
But you have to look not just at the new content, but the new options available people might (and will) be interested in. New powersets are big, but people could now choose any AT they want, and not feel limited to stay with just Heroes or Villains.
I consider myself a support based player, my current goal is to have a high level, if not 50, of every support power set in the game (kin, rad, ect). I'm kindof thinking a sonic character for my iso toon, but I've tried sonic controllers and they have major end problems, and its a power set I don't want every power of so I dont necessarily want it to be my primary, so my best option is corrupter. GR would give me the chance to do that with the next Iso run, and not to have to settle on something I do not want to play. -
I'd be interested in joining an Isolators team, it would be my first, and I am usually free on Wednesdays. My only concern is that I don't get off work until 7:30 eastern, so rushing home to get on I still might be a couple minutes late. Probably no more then 10-15 minutes late, but I feel it is worth mentioning.
And I think that, considering the timing, they should do GR content. The only thing with that, is how many people would not be able to play because it was required that they have a paid expansion that they are not able to, or did not plan on getting?
If there are any requirements, like themed powers, names, costumes, whatever, please let me know.
