Id choose a roomful of these over your 9 foot long Australian spiders.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I agree... the half-baked red-neck americans are harmless
  2. I can tell you that Australasia was hit pretty hard too. I still don't see what singling out an American economic climate has to do with NCSoft not wanting to achieve customer satisfaction. Mind you, for every single intelligent and thought-provoking american that I meet, there is always one half-baked red-neck that finds it hard to construct a sentence before blurting out ridiculous gibberish.

How about the concept of keeping a (presumably) a reasonably well paying job in the current American economic climate? or are too young/apathetic/oblivious to grasp that

    [/ QUOTE ]

Is the current American economic climate that much different from the current global economic climate? As I'm not an american, I wouldn't think so. But I may be wrong.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yeah, the economy is pretty crummy in the US...particularly in California where Paragon Studios is located. The state government's budget is in shambles, real estate has been in decline for the last 4 years, tons of homeowners are upside-down on their mortgages, foreclosure rates are through the roof, the number of available jobs are in decline as employers layoff workers to cut costs and the state's unemployment rate has been hovering near the 11% mark over the last couple months...meaning over 1 in 10 people in the state are currently without employment (the highest unemployment rate in over a quarter-century).

Not exactly the best of times for a Californian to be putting their job on the line...

    [/ QUOTE ]

Sounds pretty much like the current economic state for the majority of the global community.

BaBs is probably muzzled from saying anything it about this until Posi has.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I'm not going to comment on it for two reasons.

One, it's way outside of my department. I wasn't involved in the decisions and know absolutely nothing about what was done to who or why (outside of very broad generalities that everyone is already aware of).

Two, it's entirely a customer service issue. It's against the forum rules to discuss customer service issues here on the forums. And whether anyone wants to believe it or not, I'm just as beholden to the rules of these forums as the rest of you.

I was perusing this thread, saw reference to 'Man of La Mancha'--a play that my wife did props for in college--and pointed out that the Golden Helmet of Mambrino was actually a shaving basin.

I probably should have paid more attention to the original topic of the thread and the unintended attention that having a link to an OT post in the Dev Digest would bring to it, and for that I apologize.

I'm glad you feel no sense of responsibility for the actions of a company in which you are employed with.

    [/ QUOTE ]

So, you'd prefer that he break the forum rules, talk about something that's not even remotely related to his job description, and by doing so, probably risk his job, for the sake of being perceived as a better employee. So, if he does that, and he gets fired, your upstanding employee is now gone and you're worse off than before.

    That's a nice no-win scenario you've set up there.

    [/ QUOTE ]

How about.. I'd like someone to openly take responsibility for it and not just pass the buck.

Is it too hard to understand that some of the customers of this game would like something along the lines of this but for the MA/Exploit/Ban/Character deletion [censored]-up?

And if BaBs wanted to convey how sorry he was on behalf of NCSoft (kinda like Posi did for the badge revocation) it would be 100% more than what we have now; NCSoft sweeping this under the carpet.

    [/ QUOTE ]

How about... seeking out a proper employee then? It should be painfully obvious that BaBs isn't that employee, and berating him for some apparent lack of resposibility when he has no power regarding the situation is pretty sad.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I see where this is going. If you or anyone else would like to post the name of the SOLE person responsible for this [censored]-up ('cause it's clear that you don't think the company as a whole is responsible), then please by all means, let me know who you think I should be berating.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I'm not suggesting you contact ONE person. I'm suggesting you contact customer service, which seems to be the portion of the company that was responsible for multiple parts of this... mess. Escalation (if possible) should (hopefully) eventually get to someone with the ability to handle the issue, even if they lack the authority to make public statements about it. I say hopefully because i have no experience with whether customer service actually works that way. If you still feel the need to broadcast to a wider audience and include the rednames, you might try a forum other than Justice for better coverage (assuming you haven't already done so). And to reiterate, I've no problem with anyone voicing their complaint to BaBs on the hope he might be able to carry concerns higher up. But expecting a concrete response from him and berating him when it doesn't arrive just comes off looking like petty flailing.

You mean like posting in a thread that got locked, like this one?

What an epic thread... what satisfies me most though is the fact that most of us are engaging in a serious discussion about the actions of NCSoft in the last 12 months; and when a red name finally comes in and makes a comment, it's not to address any of the real issues that we have with their decisions. It's a poor attempt at humor that has relatively nothing to do with the majority of the thread.

Thanks for not listening BaBz.... I guess some things never change.

    [/ QUOTE ]

BaBs is an artist... you really think of all the Paragon employees he'd be the one to comment on the original topic of the thread with anything important? And additionally, if an official response WAS forthcoming, you expect it to happen in a Justice forum thread?

I'm a developer... if I go to a forum for a game I've worked on and talk about company policies I am at best, talking about stuff that is way outside my job description and none of my business, and at worst, risking my job by talking about such things. Even if said forum is full of the best and greatest people on the planet, I've got no business doing that sort of thing. And they've got no business expecting me to.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I'm not sure that I can second guess what the development staff are going to do next. We've seen in the last 12 months that they've done a lot of things that even Nostradamus wouldn't have been able to see coming.

I just call it like I see it... Why can't you and why can't they?
