Good luck Lighthouse! It has been a pleasure over the last few years on the few times we met.

Oh African Grey's (Loki's species) can live up to 70 years on the average. I was just using 10 years for an example for "how long could you stand hearing the same thing over and over" for?
-
Hehe, The one thing I keep telling Hockey Mom (My wife, obviously) is that anything we teach Loki is something we must be willing to hear for the next 10 years, every day, over and over. That seems to limit some of our idea's.

She's gorgeous! Does she talk??
Also... its going to be a long season for the Leafs....
[/ QUOTE ]
She doesn't talk yet, only 16 weeks old
And I agree about the Leafs, but it's all for rebuilding, so I'm ok with it. -
This is Loki, my baby african grey parrot, showing her dominance over the likes of Lord Recluse! I'll have to make her a hero alt now
Death to Recluse! -
Actually, I've already solved that little problem of the Aim and Buildup recharge times. Alternate them per fight
, With the other AoE's I have, it's enough to kill em all, back and forth, too keep up to that 15 s/mob spree. ((Well, 22 second as of right now ... but who's counting :P))
-
[ QUOTE ]
How often is RoA up?
[/ QUOTE ]
With what I have now, on the way of IO's, I don't have everything in my build above yet, once every 22 seconds. And that's at 131.25% Recharge. When I have everything, including SB from my Apprentice (buff Bot) I'll Be at 193.8% Recharge. So 60% faster.
On Mids, it tells me that without SB and all those IO's, it's 18 seconds, so add another 50% +Recharge ... maybe about 15 seconds .. maybe a bit less. Fast enough that I wont have to wait between mobs. -
[ QUOTE ]
Why even give your buff bot a travel power?
you have recall Friend
There has to be something more self-centered you could put in there. He is your buff bot
[/ QUOTE ]
Oh I wasn't going to, however, he kept drawing aggro, so SS A) Keeps him up to me, and B) reduces his threat level to 0, so as long as I'm alive, so is he. It was a pain to wait for him to catch up sometimes too.
I didn't want to origionaly, but, I figured why not.And I couldn't think of much else that I wanted in the way of buffs.
Oh, I also think I might have to ditch the idea of the healing pool. The only reason I was going to take it was Stimulant and the occasional rez, but ... the little bugger keeps running out of endo lol, damn him he needs stamina. -
This got the wife completely
, she was reading out loud while I was making some toast, and it had me until the "Removal of sound" ... but not her hehe. I had to ask her what the date was, got a good groan out of it. Good thing was, it reminded me to call into work and tell them I won't be coming in today ... Being my day off ... got my boss pretty good.
-
Well, since the servers are down, I took the liberty to make my Apprentice's build via Mids. As you can tell, it's quite unplayable on it's own, but having it run along side of my Archer it should be a nice helpful buffer.
On the most part, his entire roll, other then having Increase Density on auto on my butt for the buff, is to be there for me to reach over and click any keys I need. I.E. Speed Boost, Invisibility, Stimulant (I'd spam that, but it doesn't do Knockback, and doesn't have the Smashing/Energy Resistance built it) All this, as well as giving me Assault, Tactics, and Maneuvers. With Maneuvers and Grant Invisibility and slotted they way they are, that's a bonus 13.4% added Defence against everything. Giving my Archer 17% to all but Psi which will have 25.7% ... not to shabby.
Just going to have to figure out how to get both Rain of Arrows going at the same time .. hmm *starts yoga*

Well, time for another guide .. guess I should update my other 2 sometime hmm.
This is my guide for A farming Archery/Electrical guide:
before I start, if anyone who reads this, had read my "How to reduce Farming/Powerleveling" post a week back, please note, I never said I hated farming, just that it was an idea to reduce it, instead of the Dev's doing something far more drastic.
Here we go:
Alrighty, I'm not going to get into the nit-and-gritty of leveling, other then saying that from lvl 20-28, this build rocks in Dark Astoria for solo street grinding. Took me about 2 days and made easily 20 million in rare drops. As for farming, it's pretty straight forward, sneak up or hide around a corner, Aim, Build Up, and open fire with Rain of Arrows. finish them off with Fistful of Arrows and Static Discharge (in that order for possible redraw time, which is always under debate) Other then that, rinse repeat.
Also, if you're curious about the actual archery power breakdown, check out Luminara's guide The Archery Codex for it is far more detailed then I think I could get into. Though I will bring up, on her guide she states that Hasten is not required. I agree, but as for Farming, the faster Rain of Arrows comes back, the better.
I will say though, if any of you were wondering about the "Apprentice" in the post title, this is an idea that I know a few people try. If you dual box (2 computers and 2 accounts for those who have no idea what that means) make yourself an apprentice to run along with you. Mine is a lowbie ((Currently only lvl 14 and climbing)) who has one goal, follow me, and buff me ... and gather extra lewt. The build I'm going for on my Apprentice is a Kinetic/Archer, to keep with the theme. I can post his possible future build later if anyone is curious (it is, and will be, a horrible playing build, but perfect for it's role). I will say though, that his entire role is to speed boost, and Increase Density ((stacked 8-10 times negates the need for most mez protection)) me whenever I need it. As well as having a ton of other buffs like Leadership, Grant Invisibility, and the healing pool so he can rez me if needed.
As it stands, I barely have a third of the sets on this guide as of yet so I'm still working towards it, but I ever so look forward to getting them all *mischevous grin*

I've gone into RV a few times with my Ice/EM, built the way she is too, which is way more a herding/PL'ing build then for pvp. And I have no problems with Defence. I've been in a few fights that I figured I'd lose, only to be long fights that I win in the end.
-
-
Oops, should have read where to post my guide, i'll try that again:
My Ice/Em guide:
Ice/Energy, the new baby Regen (IO sets included) -
Welcome to my guide!
Allrighty, I'm not going to go into explicit details on each power, there are allready plenty of Ice tank guides (Like Tundara's) and Energy Melee guides (Like GladDog's) out there. But I will touch base on a few of them.
Why all the +Regen?
There are a couple answers to this one. Primarily, downtime, I hate waiting to run into the next fight, and with this build I rarely need a healer on board. Second, I figured that having 44.5hp/second regenerating during a fight is not exactly a bad thing.
Ice armors:
Okiedokie, Other then being able to herd very well with this build I'm going to bring up Chilling Embrace and my Lack of Icicles. I origionally had Icicles, and found them usefull, but once I hit 50 I decided I wanted recall friend instead. I have found that I can herd perfectly fine without icicles, so it's not a "must have" power. Now some people I've seen have no Slow enhancements in thier Chilling embrace, this baffles me. Chilling embrace, if you're herding, is absolutly fantastic 3 slotted with Slow IO's. Add those to the Pacing of the Turtle "Chance for Recharge Slow" IO I have in mine, and everything around me is slowed to the point that they can attack me about a third of normal. For a Defence heavy build, that's more important then anything else, since a third of the attacks, means a third of the chances of them landing a hit on you.
The second power I'll bring up is Hibernate. Some people out there only use it from time to time so they only 1 slot it. I can understand that, I don't use it that often, but with 1 slot, if you do need to use it, you lose aggro while you're healing, and if it's needed again in a hurry, you're in trouble. I have on many occasions found that I've needed it more then once a fight, especially if there is a team wipe or anything of the sort. 6 slotting it, to me, is the best bet. And this power, mixed with all my +Regen set bonus's allows me to toggle it on around 20% health, and turn it off (At full health) 6-7 seconds later, fast enough that I don't lost aggro, and with the recharge bonus's that I have it comes back in about 45 seconds. And in PvP, I'm sure it will naught but annoy the bajesus out of anyone you're facing since it would have a 15 second downtime.
The last thing that I'll touch base on quickly is Energy Absorbtion. Some people only use it for Endo recovery, which I use it for as well, but it's best used if while herding. If you grab 15 or so baddies, Line of Sight herd (LoS herd) them around a corner then use EA, I find that I rarely ever get hit afterwards. The bonus to defence is fantastic on a large group. Though I will say that if you're down to 1 baddie, or an AV, it's bonus doesn't help all that much.
Other then that, the rest of my Ice powers are slotted as expected, and used as expected.
Energy Melee:
I only have one power that I'll mention, since I'm sure I'll be asked about. Bone Smasher. I know how good of an attack it is. But I found that with my Regen build I needed the slots elsewhere. So it, and Barrage are both 2 slotted just for the Rope-A-Dope 8% regen bonus's.
Strange slotting:
4 slotted Health. I did this so I could keep it at max regen (103% ENH bonus with the ED reduction), as well as add a nice Numina's +12% regen into it. This way it gives a nice 93.2% regen, unlike the normal 79% after 3 health Enh bonus's.
(Base: 40%. 3 slotted: 79.28%. My slotting: 93.2%)
3 slotted Fly & 2 slotted recall friend: Same as Health, just so I can squeeze another 8% regen from each while keeping fly at max flight speed.
2 slotted hover: 10% regen this time
Play style:
Nothing unexpected here, Just run in, round them up around a corner using LoS herding. Turn on Hover for the little added defence, Pop Energy Absorbtion - Build Up - then open up on them with Whirling Hands and Fireball, using Total Focus and Energy Transfer to widdle down any boss or Lieutenant so they all die around the same time, which helps against runners.
One fun fact though after level 45, is that this build works wonders on CoT. After 45 you face Ice Thorn Casters, and them hitting you with ice attacks for 7 damage is just plain fun. This is great for that elusive arcane salvage people vie for.
