  5. I used to love it, admin in leagues, was part of the PvP committee thing, been in every league from the start, done the ladders, etc.

Lately I could really care less about it. Just became to much of an arms race for me and more of the same thing, fighting the same 20 or so people over and over again, hoping around, ice, fire, zzzzz.

Think I am becoming a non fan of MMO pvp and will stick too FPS games for my fix of that gaming environment.

If the all access multi pass doohickey comes to fruition, I'll play TR. It's a fun diversion from CoX. But I can't see dropping CoX for TR. Maybe, in a couple years, TR will have grown enough to have all that they wanted. But for now, my heart stays in Paragon/Rogue Isles.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Yep. Exactly how I feel after playing TR since Feb. A good game, but not good enough to tear me away from CoX.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Aye. Played for about 2.5 months. Just didn't get the feeling I get when I first played CoX or currently when I play CoX.

I was really really really pulling for TR also. I wanted a Sci-Fi MMO, but I just couldn't get into it.

    Cheers!

Wow...it's gotta take someone with some pretty darn good organizational skills to keep all of those events and groups straight.

    Nice...

We couldn't do it without Monkey. She is the glue that holds us all together.

To those of you who wish to state that the PvPEC is a joke and does nothing for PvP, I ask: What have you done for PvP? Do you help it flourish or do you sit by and make petty arguments and attack all those around you? Do you help PvP grow or do you give reason for people to not participate? Stop the degredation of PvP. People complain that the devs pay it no attention, and the devs say it is a very small part of the community. The answer seems simple enough, get more people to join it and the devs will take note. Constant badgering of people does in no way make them wish to play with you.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Test Server pvp came before the PvPEC. The Arena League came before the PvPEC. Some of the most talked about, and remembered match-ups came before the PvPEC and this ladder. Many of those that took part in those events, or watched from the sidelines hoping to one day become a part of that are here now, you ask what they did for PvP, you need only look to what came before you.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Some of the best times I had in the arena were those original leagues with the drafts, and the early server vs server matches. A large part of that though was the community. A lot of people I really enjoyed playing with are no longer with the game.

    Cheers!

And my advice to all the new SGs is that. Don't take things too bad, because every SG out there has been destroyed before pleanty starting up or at some point. My advice is after a night you get beaten by another group, just form up a discussion on your SG website or wherever you want to and figure out what's going on, is it:
    Spikes not happening fast enough
    Spikes not coordinated
    Buffs weak
    Healing not on time
Lack of survivability skills on the group's part as a whole
    Disorganization
Whatever you think really made an impact on your ability to do your job and figure out how to help fix it, do spike practices, small-size internals to help with more basic skills, really be proactive about it.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I don't think any of us did after practices on Thursday. Even when the margin of defeat was one or two kills less or we had a couple more kills we saw it as an improvement. First time I had teamed with HR but I know a lot of the names from over the years. Just takes practice, can't gel and get better over night. I just want to compete, winning is nice, but playing is just as fun. Matches are better than no matches.

    Cheers!

Anyone know if Hellraisers fought? I couldn't make it last night, and Terpman is no longer playing CoX, so curious if someone else took up the helm.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    !!!! Terp gone?

Yeah Hobo, we lucked out and got some new people so we have a team. Still could definitely use your help. I'll pm you our practice schedule. I guess i'm the one running it now.

    [/ QUOTE ]

*shrug* That is what he told me on Monday.
  16. [ QUOTE ]
I hadn't heard that Terp's no longer playing, but that's certainly sad to hear.

HR was there last night. I know they fought the Freaks, but I can't remember what other groups. They took on quite a few.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Ok cool. I showed up on Sunday and no one else did, sent a PM to Terp and he wrote me back and said his account had expired and he was not going to renew, said @battlewraith was going to take over lead, but I don't know who that is on the forums, and still waiting for an accept to my global friend invite to that name. Had baseball tickets last night and couldn't make it, hopefully will be able to make it next time whenever that is.

    Cheers!

I live in Hillcrest, but work downtown. But I park for free downtown, so short travel for me.

Who knew we had so many San Diegoans roaming about. Should have had a meet at the NC booth.

    Cheers!
