My question is, what ever happened to massively's City of Heroes In Game item from Comicon 2008. You know, the one that was posted here:
The Official Community Announcement
And here is the massively.com web site
Massively.com, still waiting
Yet almost two months later and still says we will inform everyone ASAP. Now at least, from a marketing standpoint they could at least say "hey, picked out 10 and have informed them". it's almost as it they seem to have forgotten.

I wish the interview had talked about something other than the character creator. I mean the character creator is not the only diferentiator that makes CoX great. To focus on that, repeatedly, like six times, when being spoon fed the opportunity to trumpet so many other things, thats a PR bungle, no offense.

I just bought mine for my primary account. Cant wait to get home from work and fix my Bot character and play! Woo Hoo!

Hi Bruce and welcome. The question I have, which might get modsmacked, is what drew you to City of Heroes/Villains instead of to that other Superhero MMO that is being developed that you have a pretty intimate and detailed understanding of?
I am not trying to stir up trouble, I am very interested in what you saw as strengths of CoX over that other one, or were you even offered the chance over there? -

The "Numa Numa" song?

I had some friends from the Navy send me their version. Kinda disturbing their version was. -
babytoons was gunny, but not dark. I liked Infamy best.

Ugh Facebook. I am close to being forced to putting Lighthouse on ignore because of the degeneration of CoH PR to that of Facebook.

They gave the Freakshow costumes from the last one they went to for those who couldn't go, but only a certain amount of people could get it, if they have a log in to Massively.com or made a new account and then posted a comment.

Yep, still awaiting those results :/ -

I run a Inv/Mace Tanker. Ran her to 50 about two years ago. Cant say this guide would have helped me. I am not saying its bad, I laughed a couple of times, but not real useful in the scop of trying to make Mace appealing, or making mace appreciated, or even explaining how to make mace fun and useful.

Well my play experience has shown me that I am not gimp. I think the real issue here is that the Arachnos VEAT's (all of them from core to branch) really present multiple different paths to follow and I feel that none of them are really "gimp" I in fact feel that the Crab and Bane are weaker compared to the Wolf, but then again, that is a personal taste.

Good guide overall. I will say that when the RWZ is more crowded I see more Toxic Spawns. I have earned the majority of my halfway bar credit for Toxics sweeping the RWZ, been at it on and off for about 3 months. Other new content has slowed that a bit (plus I needed to get me some Coralax).

Though I had posted before on this. This is an OUTSTANDING guide and just cemented my love of my Wolf Spider.

Nice guide, but the green text is just about unreadable.

You know, this is the reason I bookmarked this. I actually force my spouse to read this. SHe is not a fan of the game (she doesnt get it to use her words) but she absolutely loved the Sister Flame's story. She smiled at me, then told me I need to grow up.
Oh well you can lead em to water . . . -
For me the backstory I would like to see:
- Brass Monday: I love Nemesis because he is a classic "Eternal" Villain. Perhaps also later with Nemesis being declared Emporer of the Americas (not Brass Monday). A big ole crush Nemesis' machinations Arc.
- The fight with Reichsman.
- World War II to a point, specifically the 5th Column, and Atlas
Many of the other ideas mentioned here are great as well. -
PerfectPain, you can always go and play those "new" games if you want. I think the inclusion of this and other microtransaction things are nothing but good for the game, they have made them optional, they are pretty cheap (at least by my standards). I turn off the in game advertisevemts (Jeter whatever shoes anyone?). I get to play the game I love and none of this new stuff impedes with that. To me its all good.

I think it's a good idea. I just had a discussion about respecs with my brother who recently restarted his sub. new players dont have the several vet specs available to many of the readers of this forum, and it is nice that the option is available. Long gone are the days where terribly unsatisfactory builds have to suffer through until they can run the respec trial in the 20's.
on a side note, please move lupin to a lower lvl friendly zone. A lvl 1 character can run and see the hero contact. Yes I know, why would you need to, but the degree of seperation between the ease of use with hero vs villain on this is pretty extreme. Can we get Lupin moved to port oakes or something?

Why would a level 1 character even need to respec?
As for this announcement, I am all for it. Options are good. I have burned respecs on some toons and saved em on others. I might buy one if I want it right away and dont feel like burning off 10 million plus influence that I can use on other things in game that I cannot click "purchase now" with like Set IO's and such. -

"This is a great opportunity for NCsoft to grow its expanding portfolio of triple-A massively multiplayer games beyond traditional retail channels," said Lisa Bell-Cabrera, vice president of sales for NCsoft's North American business. "

Okay, is this an admission that CoH is a minor league player (albeit the top tier of the minor leagues), or is there some other connotation I am missing beyond baseball terms here? -

Only other one I can think of is Turbine's Dungeons and Dragons Online: Stormreach, which updates similarly to CoX - large "Modules" every few months of free content upgrades.

Talk about a huge let down. it might have been the game that pulled me away from CoX as i was a rabid D&D player back in the day and finally there was a true D&D MMO. Then I Beta testedand then it went live
and then I came back to a good game.

That said, if you think for one second that any MMO with a subscription fee is any different, you are sadly mistaken. Sadly. Here's a sad face for you.

Doggammit I love the cut of your jib BaB! -
I too use Red Tomax's site to get the RSS of the dev and community Forums threads, delayed or not. The old and duplicative news on the official Hero and Villain feeds may not keep them on my Feed Reader for long. But any news is better than no news.

Holy Crap Monkies that was excellent!

I thank you for this utility spreadsheet and I also thank the the other poster for informing us about the shopping list thingy in Mids. Good information.
