  1. This is the first problem I've had with TigerDirect. Now remember I deal with TigerDirect Canada. Different company for the most part.

And DaosX, just because you like WACOM, doesn't mean everyone in the free world does nor does it mean that the other companies making tablets make shotty products.

Also, some people don't have 300-500 dollars sitting around to waste on something just because it's a brand name product.

The defective tablet I got was a fluke more then likely, no different then the time I got a defective MotherBoard.
  2. [ QUOTE ]
I think that's just a coincidence. WACOM tablets are ~usually if not almost always in excellent condition and can take QUITE a beating...I've had mines for probably 3 years now and still works like new. Maybe give them one more chance?

    [/ QUOTE ]

No coincidence. The people that work for WACOM treated me like complete and utter crap everytime I had to contact them for something. I don't deal with companies that treat me that way.
  3. newegg doesn't ship to Canada so that isn't an option. Secondly, I didn't buy a WACOM, I loathe WACOM with a passion after having to deal with them about my last tablet.
  4. Ok. So I had to return my tablet because it was defective right? They told me once they recieved it they would ship me a new one. Well, it's been over a week and today my mom calls me.

Mom "Trish, did you get any email or anything from TigerDirect?"

    Me "No. Why?"

Mom "Because they emailed me saying that they recieved the defective tablet and my account has been credited for the total amount plus the shipping to return it."

    Me /e jaw drop.

What the hell is wrong with these people?? I got an RMA for an exchange of defective merchandise. All the emails I have back and fourth with them and the other company I had to deal with are titled "Exchange of defective product." I KNOW that the people I was dealing with KNEW that I wanted an exchange, not a return!

    *grumbles*

I'm going to go kill someone now.

Learn to adapt. Thats all there is. Everyone was so happy because they could post nearly what they want and it wouldn't matter even though it may not have followed the rules. Now that the rules are more heavily enforced, people lash out that they can't have their "fun" anymore.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I'd have to go read the whole thread again. But for me, it's not that "fun" posts and such are getting slashed, it's that the ones that are insulting/rude/disgusting and so on aren't getting the boot.

    [ QUOTE ]
Well, why can't I have fun going around exposing myself to people in real life? I mean..its the thrill of the moment, and the old cops didn't care. But now these new cops are getting me everytime I do it but just giving me a slap on the wrist. So I guess I'll try my fun more before they really put me in for good.

Feel free to rip apart my post

    [/ QUOTE ]

So...When do we get the videos of you doing that?
  9. [ QUOTE ]
I can be decent. Its just sometimes well..only one life to live, so I can't be nice 100% of the time.

Plus..I could go into detail about myself but I'd rather not publicly on some of the things I've done..its a personal thing.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well I'd like to think that everyone is human and has done something not so nice at least once in a lifetime.

    We're all going to hell!

And right now, we've hit the point where this thread should be locked because it's severely derailed.

But if the mods do lock it, are they being efficient and doing the right thing, or stamping on the posting rights of innocent forum goers and ruining the community? Discuss.

    [/ QUOTE ]

No, they should have locked it a long time ago.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Everything that can really be said about moderation has been said. Now we're just repeating ourselves because we keep paraphrasing each other in bad ways.

    Good times!

I prefer the broken record scenario myself.

The reason some replies are deleted along with ones that don't look to be harmful is because any reply "chained" from that deleted one is deleted also unless you reply differently. Thats why harmless posts are sometimes wiped when a forum breaking post gets wiped.

I figured everyone knew that by now...

    [/ QUOTE ]

    ZOMG, we know that.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Riiiiight Kali. Everyone knew that. Just look at a recent post you quoted.

WoW looking better for you? I bet the boards aren't moderated there.

    [/ QUOTE ]

About as good as the SWG boards were anyways.

And um, UpLink, you were pretty rude so you kinda deserved that reply.

    [/ QUOTE ]

So I'm supposed to be hurt by that? No one is perfect, except the ones worshipped on the forums.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Oh please, that's a huge load of bull. And I never said you should be hurt by it. They are just words on the forums. You were rude, you got a rude comment back and they just keep going.

    [ QUOTE ]
My "rude" comment was alot less harmful then some of the other stuff I've seen by you or just some of the posts others have made in this thread.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Wow Uplink. I used to actually think you were a decent guy. But please, continue to try and attack other posters like myself. I assure you it's no skin off my back.

I've had a few posts modded, and I've had a few traffic stops. In both cases, I'd broken the rules, gone out of bounds, and I knew it. I didn't curse the guy who caught me doing it.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    To extend your analogy:

What if you consistantly saw the same cop at an intersection, and consistantly saw him ignore people running a stop sign but only stopped you? In fact, what if someone ran said stop sign right in front of you, but you made a "rolling stop" and he pulled you over and gave you a ticket? I think you might wind up cursing the guy that pulled you over.

I think this is a better representation of what many of us feel is going on here.

    [/ QUOTE ]

That is almost exactly how I feel. Damn traffic cop!!!! *shakes fist*
  15. [ QUOTE ]
    [ QUOTE ]

I would welcome that. I got a warning for echoing a playful jab at another poster (using the same exact words he used). I got a warning, he did not.

Inconsistency is the problem, not the moderation.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Actually, the guy who retaliates is always more likely to get pegged than the guy who starts it. It's a fact of life.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    That's an awful broad statement.

Valk was in there too. According to another poster who claimed to actually speak French, it sounded like the OP used a translator to begin with. Dunno, I don't know enough French and I don't know the person who said that well so, maybe.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Damn, can't believe I missed that.

    And what's wrong with streudel?

    [/ QUOTE ]

I happen to love Streudel and am now tempted to go make some.
  18. [ QUOTE ]

To take the counter point - there are likely thousands of posts made in a week. It would be incredibly difficult to read them all, so it's likely posts get skimmed and if something catches the eye then it might get trimmed (and sometimes, trimmed too extensively). And sometimes threads go very quickly from good to bad, so it might get away from them.

On top of this, I have to assume that mods have other responsibilities over just reading the forums all day. So "heaven forbit" that some posts, out of thousands per week, get missed. If anything, it suggests that mods should get a lot more delete-happy, because that will catch all problem posts.

    Final point:

And if your post does get deleted for good or ill, what has it cost you?

    [/ QUOTE ]

That's a really nice thought and all. But when someone uses the "notify moderator" button, that should likely send up a red flag saying "Hey look over here, somethings a miss". Yet for reasons unknown they are left behind even though they break more then one forum rule.

*shrug* Some sort of methodology behind the modding would be nice instead of just randomly picking and choosing.
  19. [ QUOTE ]
I've got a better example. Thankfully, it finally got pulled but... No, let me just explain it.

There was a post in Player Questions, in French. If you ran it through a translator, it called the sh** and the devs should be killed, or something like that. Pretty much, French was used to bypass the profanity filter. So, a few folks posted the translation and asked the OP what their question was, yada yada. Every post with the translation was modded but the OP remained. Finally, myself and another posted explaining that OP should be run through a translator because it was offensive and we both notified our own posts. Instructions for the mods kinda.

Our posts were modded out but the OP remained. At one point, that thread had every post except the OP deleted.

I am seriously confused by that. Posts explaining what the OP said were modded but the OP, full of profanity was fine? So, if I decide to cuss out everyone, if I run it through BabelFish first, it's ok?

    [/ QUOTE ]

So I should be making all my posts in french when someone needs to be told off? Sweet. How the hell did I miss that post anyways? Wouldn't have even needed a damn translator.
  20. [ QUOTE ]
Again, I point to Athyna's example. That post is still up.

    [/ QUOTE ]

It seems that they are just randomly looking at posts and going "Oh, I see something bad" and then use their magic mod buttons. Heaven forbit they actually remove other posts that are worse, that would require reading.
