((I read through about the first half of the thread, so please forgive me if this is already in here.))
Scirocco (to LR): My Lord, perhaps if we put all the villains in these isles to work, instead of pitting them against each other, we could launch an assault on Paragon.
Lord Recluse (hands on hips): Watchu talkin' 'bout, 'Rocco?
Scirocco: Oh for...I'm Arab-American, Dammit!
Lord Recluse: ...I'm going to have to go to that sensitivity training thing again, aren't I? -
Jhon was very cnfused by the sudden change. He had blacked out for a bit, and a fight was calming down. He turned to Lady Halifax, "Um, what exactly happened?"
-
Sunday, 2:30 PM, Washington D.C.
The pastor stood before the grieving people, all sitting together, for the burial of one of their own. Family, friends, government officials, all filled with feelings of sadness. As the pastor spoke about this man he'd never met, the people cried. They cried, and they weeped, and they maoned, and they sobbed.
Many others poke that day, all talking about this one man with whom they all shared a connection. Afterwards, once everyone had said their peace, the corpse, sealed inside his coffin, was lowered into the earth. Ashes to ashes, dust to dust.
The people eventually left, scattering to their various homes and houses, to grieve further. But, that was far from the end. In fact, it was the beginning. For a proverbial wind moved the ashes, a gust that stirred up the dust.
Thursday, 1:43 AM, Washington D.C.
Six feet and eight inches below the earth, something stirred. After three days of solitude and immobility, something decided to move, to rustle, to come to life once more. A man, young and in his thirties lay inside his coffin, in a suit, believed to be sealed away from everyone and everything. Except, it was not. It was aware.
Muscles, long atrophied, started to move. Bones creaked, neurons started to flash once more. But, something was different. Something else was there, something new, something foreign. Flesh, started to fall away from the skeleton. Not rotted, simply detached. Roots creeped across the bones, and leaves sprouted. The suit, picked out with love and care as the last thing people would see this man in, likewise fell apart. It started to shred, as the newly growing plants tore through it, just like it did through the dead flesh.
This thing, this amalgamation of plant and bone, pushed out against it's surroundings. It thrashed and spasmed, eventually loosening the earth around it and breaking out of it's wodden prison. It dug swiftly through the dirt, emerging from it's grave like something out of an old horror movie, one hand out of the dirt, pulling the rest of it up, lightining flashing and a heavy rain falling.
The creature stood upright, covered head to toe in thick leaves, roots, and vines. The occasional bit of bone was visible underneath, as well as the thing's skull, devoid of vegetation, except for the top, where leaves grew in a mockery of hair. Inside the skull, a strange mix of plant matter and grey matter existed, forminga mind that was vaguely aware of what happened. It died, it came back, and now it was curious.
As the rain splashed down on it, the creature sprung off, leaping and running with great acrobatic skill. It jumped away from the graveyard, towards the city, and towards a place it held some unknown significance, and where it knew it needed to go, if it ever wanted to know.
It headed towards the Pentagon. -
((Hooray, standerdized testing is over!))
Jhon had been staring out into space, barely listening to what had been going on around him. He suddenly realized what he was doing.
"Oh, sorry about that. It's the pain medication the doctor's have me on. I kind of blank out sometimes." -
((Sorry, I will post, just a little bit later. We've got standerdized testing going on right now, and it's eating up my time.))
-
"Yeah, the doctor's told me the same thing. They said that with as many bone fractures and breaks as my leg has, super-powered healing has too mant risks to be effective in this case." Jhon said, while digging through his pocket. He pulled out a Snickers bar, opened it, and took a bite of the half-melted candy.
"So what about you? Why're you two in here?" Jhon asked, swallowing the candy, and holding it out, offering it if anyone else wanted a bite. -
"Hali, then." Jhon said, "And yes, I'm lucky to be alive, and just be battered as I am, and not far worse. Many of the inactivity reports we recieve at the station come from this metallic [censored]," Jhon's voice showed quite a hatred for the Clockwork King, more than the average hero, "no matter which version he's from. Plus, it would be a kind of passing the torch if I managed to take him down, so I'm glad I at least survived the experience to have the torch handed to me." Jhon said with a laugh.
-
((No, he's out of armor, he's definitely Jhon.))
Jhon managed to walk over to where the others were, and tentatively introduced himself.
"Uh, hello. I'm Jhon Vask, I just arrived here at the Clinic."
Jhon looked nervously down at the metal exoskeleton covering his leg.
"Injured leg, you see."
[ QUOTE ]
Hali turned to Jhon at his introduction Hello Jhon* I am Lady Halifax I am please to meet you
[/ QUOTE ]
Jhon was relieved these people were friendly, and not like some of the "antiheroes" who liked to register in Paragon.
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Lady Halifax."
[ QUOTE ]
And this little dear is Jaime. She placed her hands on Jamies shoulder, who was busy stuffing her face. She doesnt talk so much Hali cleaned Jamies face with a napkin having no problem with the cold aura around the little ice-sprite.
So how bad iz your leg injury that brings vous ere?
[/ QUOTE ]
Jhon waved to Jaime
The injury is pretty bad. I got smashed up by the psychic clockwork king pretty good. Tore my armor to shreds, and tossed me into a burning pile of rubble. I'll be here for a few months, the leg's broken in quite a few places. I'm just glad the doctors were able to salvage this piece to use as a healing device."
Jhon pulled out a chair and took a seat by Jaime and Lady Halifax. -
Jhon walked (as best he could with the large hunk of metal on his leg) into the courtayrd after he placed his luggae in his room. The doctors said that he would be here for a while, so he might want to get comfotable. He saw that there was a meet and greet going on, and he decided to go check that out before it was over, if he could make it.
Jhon, after a slow, slight limping walk, made it to the meet and greet. He entered, and saw a couple of people sitting, and talking.
"Well, the doctor said I should make myself comfortable. Nothing more comforting than friends." Jhon thought to himslf, as he walked over to introduce himself. -
((Alright, I'm finally going to join this thread.)) Jhon Vask strolled through the courtyard of The Clinic, as much as he could without his suit on. A tall man, standing around 6'3", with blonde hair, and piercing black eyes. He wore normal clothes, except for his right leg, which from the knee down appeaed to be a robotic exo-skeleton. It was a modified remnant of his battle suit, and the only reason he's walking right now.
Jhon is better kn own as Red Iron, the younger brother of the famous hero Blue Steel. Red Iron is also a police hero, although he uses slightly different methods than Blue Steel, wearing a modified PPD Shell to fight crime. He recently went up against an old family nemesis, The Clockwork King, although it was the psychic version that Portal Corp was trying to bring down. Red Iron attempted to face him down, and although he was successful, his right kneecap was fractured heavily, and his right shin was broken in no less than 5 seperate places. He was admitted to The Clinic for a stay of recovery, allowed only this one piece of his suit, and even it was altered to remove weapons and strength inducers. It was now instead outfitted with a cast, and a medical drip, to promote the healing of his leg.
Jhon was fine with taking a break from the heroing business, although he did miss wearing his suit, which he was quite used to wearing at almost all times. He had grown used to the kinetic functions, the energy blasts, and the strenth inducers. But, he was willing to give it up for a few months while hs leg healed, and he took a nice long vacation.
"I'm just glad I'm not in a wheelchair or something" was Jhon's only remark, as he took his luggae to his room. -

The blonde man continued to rock back and forth in his seat. "I'm the Itsy Bitsy Spider, and my brother is Arachniphobia. We work directly for Arachnos. His implants let him make us toys to play with, and lets him shoot out goo. Mine let me get hit a lot and hit back." (OOC: They're a robotics/poison mastermind and an ss/invuln brute respectivly) "I'm supposed to work for ?Arachnos and help them find what they're looking for on mersoteaz, and he's going to sell Arachnos the meteor fragments in bloody bay. Once we earn enough money, we can both buy upgrades. Would you like to see my implants?" Itsy Bitsy Spider asked, pulling off the padded gloves on his arms, to reveal some-what skeletal robotics hands, with small generators humming away in the center of each. "The little thingys in the center let me do my stuff It uses kin...kin....some kind of energy. I forget what it's called." The blonde man slipped both of his gloves back on, which seem to silence the humming. (OOC: The gloves/suit are the sinister costume, and the skeletal robotics hands are the robotic claws, not the skeletal robotics costume pieces.)
-
The blonde man grinned at the knife. "My big brother told me to come here. He told me to work here, and that he'd be working in Bloody Bay. He said that we'd get enough money from selling our findings to Arachnos for another upgrade." The tall man rocked back and for slightly as he talked, his hands on his knnes. He acted somewhat like a small child, despite easily being 35, or even older.
-
"And what exactly is the Black Portal Project?" A tall, blonde man leaned over from his seat, asking his question. He has spikey hair, and heavy bags around his eyes, as if he hadn't slept in days. He was almost gaunt, although no skin was shown beyond his face. He wore heavy leather with large, red spider-like patterns on them, heavy work boots, and spider like metal playes on his shoulders and boots. His face twisted into a half-crazed grin, and he appeared to be someone who might have just escaped from the Zig's mental hospital.

Heya everyone. I haven't been on the forums very much, but I've been playing since issue 4. I think this is the right place to post this, it was either this or the protector forums. I'm currently (as in while I'm posting this) playing a kinetics/rad defender on protector, and was wondering fi anyone else was on there who might want to Role-Play with me. The character is low level (level 2) but I'd like to role-play with anyone, regardless of level. His name's Bi-Scope, and he's under the atlas statue. Thanks, and I hope to join a forum-role-play soon, once I've got a little more time.

CC = Crowd Control (Immobilizing/Holding/Sleeping extra enemies)

Depending on the context (especially in a non-combat situation), this usually means Costume Contest.
