that's nicely done Burning_Brawler. Only thing i would say is about the placement of particular characters, in that the central hooded figure merges a little with the two characters to his left and right imo, due to them all wearing black. Two contrasting coloured characters might work better if you have them available. I do like how the other characters fan around that central guy tho, good composition

Quote:There's a free software package you can download called GIMP (graphical image manipulation program, or somet) It very similar in functions and processes to photoshop, and completely free, i've used it for all my artwork, comic creating, etcBefore Photoshop, there was this thing called a Xerox machine, you could make copies at varying darknesses... Try that and some white out. Sorry just trying to save you $700 and or pirating.

Heh, brilliant bio mate, and humourously written too. I like

Quote:Fan-stonking-tastic!! The best costume i've seen for a while mateMost recently however, Timepulse was born. Electric Control/Kinetics Controller.
For my own speedsters, i have/had two worthy of note. I think everyone knows British Hero: Rad/DP defender, ex SBS soldier who through a radiation explosion, gained the power to control his own and other peoples metabolisms... and he's got some guns...
My other speedster was a homage to my love of the British MotoGP, the Repsol Racer, but i quickly deleted him for fear of copyright repercussions, shame as he was good fun for a his short life, MA/SD scrapper
hope you like -
lol Techbot, read my mind, i was just about to design a steampunk vader

Here's a few of my helmeted characters.
This is a manga inspired suit of powered armour.
Euro Fighter wore a suit of armour based on a fighter jet.
The Pyrofire Bug wears a fire beetle based armoured suit.
Formula One's costume is based around the Grand Prix.
Blades of Ra wears an ancient golden mask from Egypt.
and last but not least, my main character, Robot H3NRi base model and upgraded stealth model. Although technically, not a helmet as he's a robot

Quote:hehe, no, it's about changing the definition of the packI have no idea how you equate re-colors to changing physical geometry but... um... yeah.
@ Samuel, i do agree with what you're saying, i also like to use pieces in ways they maybe weren't at first envisioned to be used, but you must see not every piece can be changed to work with another concept. Tech armour legs will never look like a skirt, a pirate hat will never look like a motor cycle helmet. For me steampunk is that much different to other genre's, i'm not saying don't try to use it in other concepts, just don't be disappointed when it won't fit, lot's of other pieces also won't. -
Quote:No, it's like releasing an eagle head pack with the option to make it a cow head, erm, cows aren't eagles. This is like saying the eagle head shouldn't be tintable blue because there aren't any blue headed eagles and "blue" isn't a defining eagle head color. And no one should try using the eagle head for anything else because it says "Eagle", darn it and so that's what it is.

then don't use the steampunk pack for that character. Same as i wouldn't use the animal head pack if i was making a human character. I'm just saying steampunk is a very definable look, for it to be a steampunk pack it has to look steampunky, to then change it to look like something else, it stops being a steampunk pack. I'm the last person to argue against using costume pieces in every different way, shape or form, but to moan that a steampunk pack is disappointing because it's all steampunky seems a little silly.

well, it's just that wedding dresses, and martial arts and cyborgs can be all different colours, whereas steampunk is very much defined by that brass metal, brown leather look. imo, if it's not a brassy/brown valve and gauge fest, then it's not steampunk, it's just... tech. Just imo

Quote:can i just ask, without any connotation other than my own curiosity, what colours 'would' you expect a steampunk pack to be?It just bothers me that the artist put his or her own artistic vision ahead of customization and gave us pieces with very limited use for no real justifiable reason. It's gotten to the point where I cringe every time I see an orange or brown steampunk costume.
Personally i can't wait for this pack, i have a real interest in the alternative steampunk era, ever since reading The Difference Engine by William Gibson and Bruce Sterling. Expect costumes when it goes live -

I made this costume ages ago, but never played him, or even had an idea for a powerset for him really... guess he'd probably be an Assault Rifle/somet maybe...
He always seemed russian to me tho

K, got my first character on Virtue, The Pyrofire Bug, claws/fire scrapper, and quite good fun so far. He's inspired partly by the insect related thread (some great costumes there) and partly by wanting to use the vangard claws. Hope to meet you all ingame soon

Hi all, I was solely on Union server but will certainly be making some new characters so i can join you guys. My online time is a little sporadic at the moment but i'll hopefully see you around. Global is now @HenriRoxx.

Hi guys. Afraid i'm going to have to bow out of this competition. Life is crazy busy at the moment and i just don't have any free time for art, gaming or even trolling the forums at all it seems
Good luck to those still competing and hopefully i'll get time to look in and see the entries each month. -
Just seen this thread and thought i'd add my main, Robot H3 NRi. Spines/Regen scrapper hero on Union. Dunno how many people have said to me, 'A Spines Robot? Can't imagine how that'd look...'
Kinda looks like this
Will add bio in a sec.

k, and here's a bunch of randoms, including a snowboarding dude who was going to become my Ice Dom but I went with Sub Zero Man instead, and my Fish Man who i wish i could use but just can't find a powerset for him... anyway, use and abuse as you wish

I've always loved making big powered armour suits, but never have a toon to use them.
