Quote:But it's not nearly as bad as Jones Soda. Turkey and Gravy flavored soda anyone?Wait, but then... if Mountain Dew is not Diet Dew, is there a non-diet regular Mountain Dew flavored... dew? Mountain Dew confuses me with all it's crazy limited edition flavors.

Quote:Thx for the feedback Enrious...I didn't neg rep you, but I did pos rep you to "restore the balance" :PTo the anonymous coward who neg repped me with "A sadly useless post..." in reference to my pointing out that Hellsminion had answered his own question, I'm very sorry that you lack the reading comprehension of even a second grader. It also appears that in a life-or-death situation requiring you to excercise your intellect, I personally would place my bet on the fruit fly that would be competing with you.
And to that person, I don't think it was a useless post either
....somehow, I have a feeling that "reputation" is going to be one of those things that I will want to disable... -
One thing I noticed about the new "sidekick" system is that the level caps have been removed for the hazard zones. I'm sure this question has been asked, but I'm feeling lazy right now.....what if you're solo? Does it automatically bump you up to the minimum level? For instance: New character, level 1. If I go to PP, does it automatically put me at level 7 (or whatever the minimum level is)?

My loins get excited when I think about the benefits and fun times that Going Rogue will bring

My blaster, Pew Pew Thwomp, should be nerfed because he's just too awesome.
I was on a boss farm team about a week ago...everyone wiped except for me, as I was happily hovering away from the melee mess. I can't begin to say how wonderful it is to have an AR/EM blaster with the Fly pool. It's an instant sniper's perch -
My googly moogly sense tells me that drop rates will return to normal once I16 goes live.
Also, I can't wait to go through my demon and freakshow missions with pew at +2 with minions and lieutenants, scaled for a 8 person team (but I'll probably start with a 6 person team first) -
'Cause I've got a golden ticket
I've got a golden chance to make my way
And with a golden ticket, it's a golden day -

Quote:This is why I love living in the Pacific NW. Not only does the summer temp average around 85, there's no humidity. I vacationed in Florida earlier this month (actually ate gator there tootake a vacation up to Dallas. It's not that bad up here. Well 90's, but our triple digits are over hopefully. Been real hot this summer.
), and just visiting there for a week reaffirmed why I moved out of that state. I do miss the beaches tho.....the water was sooooooooo warm. If Oregon's ocean water was just as warm, I'd never go back to Florida again (well, the wife's family would have to move here too, but that's just a minor detail)

Quote:Unlikely...Sept. 1st is less than a week away and open beta hasn't even begun. Additionally, open betas "traditionally" last a few weeks. Even if open beta were to start tomorrow, there will still be a few weeks before it goes live....I am so convinced that issue 16 will go live on 9/1, that I took that whole week off from work to play the game...so much to do....so much to do!
....unless, of course, you are using the wrong terminology, and you expect open beta to begin on Sept. 1st, which is entirely possible.
EDIT: Well, open beta began today, so let the few weeks to "live" begin -
Quote:A truly wise postI think there have been many who have been part of the community who would be deserving.
Some for information
Some for disinformation
Some for forum help
Some for game help
Some for humor
Some for being nice
The problem comes when you want to recognize them with something other than your good word. That equates to a simple popularity contest, and as such, some people will always feel deserving (Whether they should be or not).
IMHO, rather than something where others can feel bad for not having, if you wanted to recognize someone for their help......
Just say so to them. -

It's dreadful to think about, but summer's winding down
Gonna break out the BBQ tonight to fix up Tropical glazed chicken. Should be quite tasty

I nerf the drop rates every time I log on....a fraction here, a fraction there. Eventually I'll have enough fractions for a whole number!

Quote:Well I've search Red Tomax's City of Data and Paragon Wiki for any reference to "physical perfection" and there isn't any, so it's definitely a new power. Is it limited to the Body Mastery Pool? That remains to be seenActually, looking at the article indicates it's part of Body Mastery!
The bit about Dev's Choice and Hall of Fame seems odd since Hall of Fame seems to have dissipated from the collective mindset and Dev's Choice have slowed down a bit as well. -
Quote:You see! Tomorrow! Tomorrow!
The sun'll come out
Tomorrow
Bet your bottom dollar
That tomorrow
There'll be sun!
Just thinkin' about
Tomorrow
Clears away the cobwebs,
And the sorrow
'Til there's none!
When I'm stuck with a day
That's gray,
And lonely,
I just stick out my chin
And grin,
And say,
Oh
The sun'll come out
Tomorrow
So ya gotta hang on
Tïll tomorrow
Come what may
Tomorrow!
Tomorrow!
I love ya
Tomorrow!
You're always
A day
A way! -

Quote:*humble bow*First and foremost, WB Philly. If you need any help getting restarted after the fire sale you had when you left, let me know.
tl;dr for HellSimian
There are no grammatical errors in the post that matter in a game's forum. The most flagrant, strictly prescriptive error is "a lot," use of which is more an error of diction. In casual settings no properly trained editor or other grammarian would fault its use. Just as no properly trained editor or other grammarian would allow it to stand in academic or professional writing. I tend to view words like "unsubbed" as new coinages, and I've seen many instances of abbreviation-turned-word in casual, scholarly, and professional discussions: you should feel free to make up words, so long as the new words' meanings are fairly clear to your audience.
I'd argue that the name of the game, City of Heroes or City of Villains, would be italicized, since those are the names of the major work, and Going Rogue would simply be placed in quotation marks since it is more like hte title of a smaller part of the work: it's more like a chapter than it is like a book; more like an episode than like a series.
A closer look reveals a few more things that I'd not worry over in casual settings: "Aug 15th" should maybe have a period after the abbreviation; "Rouge" is actually Rogue, but my spelling and typing suck, too; "Oh, and WB!" this comma might not be necessary, but I generally have to look up comma issues to be sure. It may be separating an exclamation, "Oh," from the rest of the sentence; it's certainly not separating two independent clauses: "WB" could be thought of as an abbreviated independent clause since "welcome back" has the implied subject "you." Without looking it up, I'm inclined to keep the comma because the sentence looks a little hinkey without it (the smell test).
As for spelling grammar wrong...your awn you're oan.
*I didn't consulte CMoS, Bedford, or APA for this, but I can cite pages if it would help: I'm within arm's reach of Chicago, APA, and three grammar handbooks. None of the American grammar handbooks or style guides says anything substantially different about grammar, punctuation, or usage. The style guides--APA, Chicago Manual of Style, and MLA--differ primarily on issues of formatting and citaton. I've spent a good deal of time reading them, cross-referencing answers from them, and tutoring young accolytes in their arcane lore. It gives me little joy that this knowledge will likely haunt me forever.
When in doubt, you can contact http://www.uwf.edu/writelab/grammar/ and have someone whose job it is look it up for you.
Thank you, good sir, for the correction and explanation -
Quote:I dunno...that sounds pretty fancy to me :P Last night, I picked up this fantastic Carne Asada tri-tip "roast" from Trader Joe's and had that while I was gettin' my CoH on. SOOOO delicious!!!I like pretzels or popcorn because they're easy. I also like baby carrots, by themselves or with dip.
I'm not as fancy as Hellsminion_CoH, so my dip involves opening a package of something (ranch dressing mix, dip mixes) and pouring half the package into one cup of Fage Total 0% Greek yogurt. One cup of the yogurt has 120 calories and 20 grams of protein. You can mix it with any dip mix and it tastes great. (I know someone who combines the yogurt with chocolate pudding mix, but I can't vouch for the taste of that first hand. It sounds terrible to me.)
I mostly drink water, coffee, or iced tea. Occasionally I'll have a glass of wine, a rum and Coke, or whatever else is around. Drinking champagne and playing is always fun!
