Quote:Have you been away from the game for awhile? Or has at least your character been logged off for awhile?I started the group. I have never heard of a Super leader. I promoted 1 to commander, and that seems to be all i can do.
The Super Leader is a rank introduced in Issue 14. There can only be one Super Leader per super group, and the Super Leader can change rank permissions for every other rank, including regular Leaders. When Issue 14 went live, the Leader who had been online the most recently automatically became Super Leader of the group. If a Super Leader character is offline for longer than whatever your super group's auto-demotion period is (could be as little as 15 days or as many as 45), then the next Leader who logs in becomes Super Leader.
There's no way for a Super Leader to take permissions away from himself, so if you can't promote someone, then someone else has become Super Leader of your super group and changed the permissions. Or there's some funky bug happening. -

They've NEVER released an issue to Live on a Friday. Issue 2 (as well as Issue 6) was released on a Thursday, and caused lots of problems for that weekend, but not being able to do instanced missions wasn't one of the problems.

Quote:Powers customization is great and all, but honestly the QoL improvements Issue 16 is bringing deserve almost as much fanfare as PC in my opinion. This is great news! I wish that I had looked into i16 more. I was kind of disappointed when I thought it was just the custom colors thing. The more I find out about it the more I like what is coming down the pike.

There's this announcement on the main website.

Quote:Tuesday and Wednesday would be a more accurate statement. Thursdays are uncommon for release days, given that there have only ever been two issues released on a Thursday (Issue 2, which caused lots of headaches for NCSoft employees who had a VERY long weekend because of it, and Issue 6, which had to be released on a Thursday to coincide with the headstart for City of Villains).I didn't figure they'd release it on a holiday, but I'm hoping it's today. Supposedly they have a history of releasing stuff on Tues & Thurs.
If we don't see it by tomorrow (Wednesday), then it'll probably be next week or even later.
New Issue release days:
Monday - once (Issue 15), twice if you count City of Villains
Tuesday - 8 times (Issues 1, 3, 7, 8, 9, 10, 12, 13)
Wednesday - 4 times (Issues 4, 5, 11, 14)
Thursday - twice (Issue 2, 6)
Friday-Sunday - 0 times -
They updated the Going Rogue website after the initial announcement was made. It now includes more lore information, as well as some info on the new powersets.

Quote:I don't know that there'd be anything "wrong" with it (and it's not MY stance, btw... it's one that I see Paragon Studios having). It'd definitely be harder to sell a game account like that, if you weren't also selling the master account along with it, since the person who was buying the game account could never truly have full control over it. But that doesn't mean people wouldn't still try.I've often wanted to ask someone who had this stance -
Let's assume both accounts are under the same master account - What is wrong with transferring one character from one account to another, when the master account would still be the same?
However, from a business point of view, it doesn't make a lot of sense for them to allow it even if selling the game account wasn't an issue. Now that we can have a lot more character slots than we used to, if people were allowed to move all their characters to one account they could do so, and it would mean the closing of many of those "secondary accounts" that might otherwise remain open (or be re-opened periodically). -
Quote:There's no way they'd allow this, even if all that information was the same. It would still enable people to sell characters, because once the transfer was done you could just change the info on file.Same EXACT name, address, phone, email, and credit card info. ALL of the information (save the characters, obviously) must match.
If anything is different, it won't work (my husband and I have virtually identical accounts save our names - same address, credit card, everything, and we can't move one of my characters off his to mine).
No ifs, ands, buts, or maybes... this isn't possible and won't ever be. -
Quote:I wasn't even in the Closed Beta for Issue 14 (Wrong Number mentioned in this thread that my arc was played during Closed Beta, but that was incorrect; I didn't even write it until Open Beta had been going on for a couple of weeks).Nope. A LOT of arcs got DCed in closed beta and were already there when open beta started. Very few got added during open beta and far as I can tell none of those were transferred over when i14 went live.
My DC arc, Saving Synapse, received its DC in Open Beta and then got transferred over to Live.
Quote:How did pohsyb find out about all those arcs he DC'ed? He went into the Beta Testers channel and just asked for arcs to DC. I don't recall any Devs coming into channels like MA Arc Finders (I've seen pohsyb lurk there and a lot of the reviewers inhabit that channel) and ask anyone to recommend an arc.
Also, while I don't recall pohsyb doing much talking in the MA Arc Finder channel, he definitely *is* a member of it. -

So I've got my main badger logged off in Cimerora to earn the day job badge there, as well as the Time Lord accolade (he already has the Ouroboros day job badge). I didn't think he'd been there quite long enough to get the badges, but I logged him in this morning to check anyway.
When I logged in, I got the "Badge Earned!" message, and the chat box says I got Cimeroran and Time Lord. For a moment, the "Most Recent" category in my badge listing showed only those two badges and no others. Looking through the Accolades listing, I didn't see Time Lord listed, and when I went back to Most Recent, Cimeroran and Time Lord weren't there anymore, just the other most recent badges I've gotten. The placeholder for Cimeroran still shows that I need about 13% more time to get, which is actually about what I thought anyway.
What makes it stranger is that the two badges show up when I view my "Personal Info" box. Here's a screenshot showing Time Lord in my personal info box, as well as the chat message saying I got the badges and the incomplete placeholder for Cimeroran.
I'll check in a few days when I should legitimately get Cimeroran (and Time Lord) and hopefully it'll be okay then.
EDIT: So I just re-logged, and now the badges are showing up in the badge listing. I guess I was wrong about how much time I had towards Cimeroran, but it's still odd that they weren't showing up there at first... -
Quote:Actually, Aug 31st being a Monday makes it unlikely to be a release day.
Actually, the only time they've ever released anything major on a Monday, it *was* a "boxed expansion." City of Villains came out on a Monday, but other than that, no major update (i.e., an actual "Issue") has been released on a Monday or a Friday. -
Quote:You don't have to have a badge to enter RWZ like you do the Midnighter Club (and thus, Cimerora). Currently the only thing restricting access to RWZ is level, and with Issue 16 that's going away.Wait..! This can't be right...
You will still have level restrictions on when you get the Midnight Arc entrance. Without the midnight badge no access to Cimerora.. without access... no ITF.
Isn't that the same with RWZ..? Then again. RWZ is a known location.. while Cimerora is a secret... a time portal...
Also, right now you can get the Midnighter Club badge at any level simply by being teamed with someone doing the last mission of the Midnight Club intro arc (i.e., you don't have to be the mission owner), so with Issue 16 you should be able to get a lowbie into Cimerora just by making sure you've teamed with someone doing that arc first. -
Quote:If the first round really was "a trusted few," it probably wouldn't include those who haven't had active accounts in quite some time.Maybe I am wrong on this, But isn't the first round of invite the lightest. SO only the a trusted few get in the first week. Then it ramps up.
(I got invited to the Closed Beta for... Issue 13, I think... while my account was briefly inactive. It got me to re-sub a few days earlier than I'd planned to.)

Yes, they need to fix the server status page. It's currently stuck on the page as it was on June 24th. Until recently, refreshing the page would eventually make the current one show up, but that apparently doesn't work anymore.
There are several threads about this already. -
Quote:Heh, that sounds like a cool idea! But they can still slip in little tweaks after the final testing phase - just because the most recent test patch notes don't mention PLing your avatar in the MA will now turn your costume white with red spots, doesn't mean to say they haven't slipped it in just before they applied the patch
Seriously, though, they don't "slip in little tweaks after the final testing phase." Whatever's on Test is what's going to go live. Now, if there were exploit fixes on Test they wouldn't have put those in the patch notes, true, but they don't "slip" stuff in without it being on Test first. -
Quote:If only there were a place that patches were tested before going live, and if only there were a place that patch notes for said test patches were posted......and as usual when there's a new patch, there's no news about the patch.
Yes, I'm tired and grumpy today, but... I ha..I fu.. I friggn.. hrmmm... I "don't like" the lack of information! -
Quote:My problem's been fixed since disabling Cooliris (although judging from some other posts here that's obviously not the only thing causing this), but yeah, using that url for the forums was how I was trying to do it, and I still couldn't stay logged in with Firefox.Maybe I'm just being evil here, but everyone still having problem after using http://boards.cityofheroes.com instead of any old URL? It was enough to fix my problems.
Remember, those who can't stay logged in with Firefox are reporting no problems with other browsers like IE and Chrome, so it can't be a simple incorrect url issue. -
Look at the bottom of the server status page for the date. For the last month or so, the server status page from June 24th will appear, showing all servers as being up. Refresh that page until the current one shows up to see the accurate server status.

Well, it *is* one of the regular maintenance periods (Monday and Friday between 9am and 11am EST), so yeah, it's probably just maintenance...
