Quote:Seconded, though bear with me here 'cause I'm not saying it about myself. (-:I'm here to add my, "You guys rock!"
Because it is so effin' true.
Even though I'm on the Titan Network development team, I want to pitch in my praise to my fellow programmers, database engineers, testers and input grunts, because I'm honestly impressed with how well they've performed their tasks ever since our projects shifted hands around the time of Going Rogue's release. People have been very quick to tackle issues, everyone has pitched in for every project in every way they could, and I'm extremely excited about all the new developments in the works; some of which haven't been announced yet.
The rough spots are pretty well smoothed over now. Developments in the coming weeks are going to be the best we've ever been able to provide.
The current hands we have on our projects are some top-notch developers, and I still say that after having worked with lots of programmers over the years. We, or I, or somebody, will be making an announcement before too long to introduce all the awesome talent we've got on board, but I'm just dropping in my two cents that I'm very satisfied with the way things are and the way things are looking going forwards. We're not short-staffed by any means; we have enough muscle to spare that we're putting it to use in all sorts of nifty ways.
This thread started a bit preemptively perhaps, but I don't hold Energy Aura at fault for that. I support his initiative, as he was doing what he believed was in the best interests of the community and since a potential problem cropped up, he was letting everyone know in advance. This turned out to be a good thing, since it got many eyes on the issue and the result is that now, the notion of Inherent Fitness becoming a problem has transformed from a plausibility into utter nonsense. (-: -
I don't think the conversation needs to go down this path, so let me clarify a few things:
Leandro's work was not illegal. I don't believe he used any information from closed beta, and even if he did, it's still not illegal. Even if something violates the terms of the User Agreement, it doesn't mean it's illegal.
NCsoft reserves the right to take action against their users' accounts or, if they feel they have suffered damages because of a user's actions, they can file suit, but working with these Fitness numbers doesn't qualify as criminal for any situation short of breaking into the Paragon Studios offices and stealing the data from their computers. -
I just made someone groan with a bad pun. Does that count?

Good news, everyone!
The short version is that the Inherent Fitness issue was resolved by the Mids development team and that your older builds will import into I19 Mids just fine.
The long version...
Energy Aura was able to make some different adjustments to the data to include support for Inherent Fitness. The result is two versions of Fitness that function exactly like the game: if you import a build with the old ones, those are the ones you get, but if you start a new build or remove the pool versions, you'll get the Inherent ones and not have the pool as a selectable option.
Diellan and I went over the Mids program files to make sure things are squared away on that end, and we found updating the program to include the new Inherent powers is not a difficult task. Work is already underway.
And the best part is that MY project is still on track despite this minor setback, is in its final testing stages, and is almost ready to be announced and released to the community. (-: -
Quote:I don't mean to undercut Energy_Aura's announcement, but DeProgrammer and I did some investigating and we believe that we can effectively modify the Mids software for Issue 19 to support Inherent Fitness without invalidating legacy build exports. We hope to be able to say with certainty one way or the other within the next day or two.I really believe we can take care of this in a less painful way. I'll probably look into it tomorrow. (If you can fix it manually, you can fix it with code.)
We'll keep you posted on the situation, and I apologize for the confusion.

Quite a bit. Probably the worst of the worst are the Thugs pistols. I like the powers for ranged damage goodness, but I wait to pull them out for when I've got a nice big window of downtime, and then try to stick to them before switching to Heat Mastery powers, since I'd have to redraw again.
I'm no min/maxer. I don't gague my performance in dees, pees or esses. But the redraw is so obnoxious on its own that I take steps to avoid it. -
If it helps you feel any better, it'll be soon rather than Soon™. I'm finishing up one last feature now, and I hope to have a testing candidate ready by tonight so that the alpha stage of product testing can begin this weekend. However, I wouldn't expect a public beta for another week at least, but you never know.

You guys are going to go bananas for the next thing we here at Titan Network are getting ready to throw at ya.
But forget I said that. Still no definite ETA. -

On a more constructive note, the fact that there are two random zone events for Halloween strikes me as a bit odd. The zombies seem a better fit, so I'd keep them in this position if I were to change one of the two.
The Deadly Apocalypse, on the other hand, could be tied to some kind of Halloween task like a mini task force or a trial, where it in and of itself is the main attraction. Think Babbage in the Synapse Task Force: it just comes as part of the package and anyone standing nearby can participate. As a bonus, since it would require a team to start, it's guaranteed that a team will exist when the Deadly Apocalypse is triggered.
So we need a contact for this new Deadly Apocalypse mini task force. I say we have a blinged-out vampire with cool shades, a diamond-studded dollar sign (or nondescript currency symbol) necklace, a gold chain hanging from one of his pockets, a stylish cape lined inside with red velvet, and some kind of high-rolling decoration for his fangs. He could be, like, Count Emcee or something: dark lord of ceremonies. He'd be the one to kick off the creepy, fright-filled festivities. -

I'm pretty sure the off-season Zombie and Deadly Apocalypse events are tied to turning in costume salvage, but I agree that both of them need to not be. Save the apocalypses for Halloween and leave the rest of the year out of it.
The Rikti invasion kinda makes sense, but if the Lady Grey Task Force is run frequently enough, I can see how it can become saturated. Maybe make it a vote at the end of the Task Force as to whether the entire group receives Reward Merits, or no Merits at all and instead trigger an invasion. (-: -
Quote:Paragon Wiki has the Europe servers. Also, if you go by Paragon Wiki only the NA servers are located there not, as the clue says, all of the servers.

Or you can get a costume power first solo and then team up. Just sayin'.

Quote:And like a half hour after I mentioned there would be one!I was kinda hoping for November 2nd/4th myself, but they just announced there'll be a Rikti Weekend starting November 4th and I doubt the devs would start an older event the same day they release a highly-anticipated feature.
I'd shoot for the week of the 15th at the earliest; more likely the week of the 22nd. -
Support sets are wonderful. My Blaster, Corruptor and Defender can perma-mez bosses while dealing with their one accompanying minion, so it's never a problem and I never have to leech off of people who don't gimp themselves.

Quote:To the public: don't quote entire posts, please.Quote:I don't know when they'll release Issue 19, but I can pretty much say the following with certainty:
- It will not be until after the Halloween event ends (October 31).
- It will be before the Winter event begins (December somethingth)
- They have not done any beta testing on the Training Room server for Issue 19. At the bare minimum, give one week for open beta.
- A Rikti Invasion event is on Mod08's calendar, but he wouldn't tell me when it will be. If it happens before January, it will happen in November and will not overlap with Issue 19's release.
- Not until November at the earliest.
- Give one week for Rikti and one week for open beta, that leaves week 3 at the earliest (week of the 15th).
- Give two weeks for the Winter event at the end of the year, and that leaves week 1 of December at the latest (week of the 6th)
- If closed beta occurs on the Training Room server, I'd say the release is likely the week of November 22. Week of the 15th otherwise.

Oh geez.
At least it's not as bad as the "I want Going Rogue NAO!" that we had to put up with for the past year and a half.
It never ceases to surprise me just how people can completely ignore everything in the game and spend all their time and energy waiting for something new. -
Well, I have all the Halloween badges on my badge character now... some 10 hours after the event started. Go me!
I lucked out with the zombies, since they showed up to crash the Party Pack demonstration in Pocket D a few weeks ago. -
Tricks seem to be far more likely on teams, but look to be about 50/50 solo.
If you're lookin' to get costume drops, try shunning all your friends.
