The changes in I5 had very little to do with PvP and a lot to do with boring PvE. It's that simple. No conspiracy there - I think I've stated this several times.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    I was having fun.....
  2. Oh wow! Great job! The end was the best! hahaha!

Keep up the great work *wishes I was that talented *
  3. Ok here is a post sort of like the one in your example.

Last night I heard that i4 went live. So I went and jumped on test (heh, I'll finally be able to move without crashing) and respeced my lvl 50 dm/regen. After doing some of my tests for my new build I got an invite to the arena, so I go.

It was a lvl 50 Ice tanker who was also testing his build. Here is what happened after the first two minutes, my clicks were the following:

brawl ->brawl ->brawl ->toggle IH back on ->brawl ->brawl -> turn Int back on ->brawl -> brawl -> turn focused acc back on....... you get the picture and yes it was VERY BORING (lame, other).

My whole point was that in the first couple of minutes I attacked using the sequence I usually take, smite, shadow maul, smite, shadow punch etc. but I wasn't hitting him at all, why becasue he had all of his Ice armors on plus weave. I also noticed in the first couple of minutes that he was only trying to detoggle me with brawl, but since my green glow turns off when my IH or Int dies he knows when to deliver his big blows. Needless to say it was very boring. After the match ended in a draw, he said, "You are too quick with your toggles" meaning his strategy, which I am sure is everyone's now, is to just de-toggle and then deliver big blows.

Now if I recall, the arena is supposed to "be a place where heroes can fine tune their fighting skills" (please Cuppa, correct me if that was never said). But I don't think I've used brawl since level 22 or somewhere around there. How is hitting brawl fine tuning my skills? I've had to bring it off of tray 3 to tray 1 just because of its usefullness in PvP. How is that fine tuning my skills?

So maybe, I thought, I can use it to detoggle in PvE, nope. I think there is a locked thread out there titled "I don't feel heroric anymore" or something like that where the OP makes a great statement, I just don't feel heroric anymore :-/

States, all you ever tell us is, in a nut shell... "There are PvE issues as well." It's you out. Nerf something for an OBVIOUSE pvp related issue, get called on it, say, "There are PvE reasons also." NEVER tell us them... and keep telling us your keeping your promose when your really not.

Kind of like no stealf nerfs a year ago... "We never stealf nerf, EVER." 3 or 4 stealf nerfs later, we begain to think you had the most imcompatinted patch note person on the planet... cause apperently he/she/it keep screwing up... because, you never stealf nerf now do you?

And you know what really kills me, is, you've WASTED, GOD knows how long on this crappy update, (which if you ask me, is nothing more then data mining and reasearch for CoV.) and the ONLY thing of value your adding to the game is PvP, which, i might add, brings the best out in people, it really does. Flame wars. Trolling. Challanges. Bragging. Leet Speak. Oh yeah, i'm really looking forward to this... OH, and SHOLDER KITTENS!?!?! Your giving us SHOLDER KITTENS. THAT right there will have me relloing an alt and sludging though ANOTHER 50 levels of the same, with a weaker charater mind you... for an ever SLOWER rehasing of the same crap i've alread done 10 times... OH YEAH, i can hardly wait...

And when, or maybe better but, IF, you ever get this wonderful updated finished and to live, I wonder how long it'll be before i accually get something NEW to do in this game of yours huh?

Gee, at the rate of 3 feaking updates a year, your better add some truly epic stuff to your game, or your player base, if they aren't getting board already, are going to be board into a coma by this time next year... if they'er hear at all.

WHAT ARE YOU GUYS THINKING? PvP will SAVE your game from it's own self distructive lack of contant? You know who PvP's the most? Young males, ages, 13-25 i'd beat is your PRIME pvp age group. And i'll tell you this right now, if your counting on THAT age group to keep you afloot... LOL. They have the attation span of fruit fly, and once the next "cool" pvp game is out, so are they.

Not a group i'd bet the future of my game on, if you ask me.

    KingSnake.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Wow and here I thought I was mad (I am but just not this upset ).
  5. [ QUOTE ]
    Agreed.

We should try NEVER to change a power because of PvP alone (BTW, this is what I've always promised). The changes now aren't solely because of PvP - there's signifcant PvE issues, too.

    [/ QUOTE ]

What about brawl? I don't recall Brawl detoggling anyone in PvE.........

  6. [ QUOTE ]
hopefully y'all won't stop talking to me now that you know I'm not as cute as Irish or QT

    [/ QUOTE ]

Your right, your not that cute, you are smokin!

Heh, is that your man in the pic with you?

Too bad I am at work cause I don't have any pics here. I'll maybe edit this response when I get home.
  7. quote from Geko:

    [ QUOTE ]
If flyspeed had the same max as runspeed, why would anyone ever take superspeed?

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Hasten.

What does any other power in the fly pool do? Everyone I've teamed up with that has team fly never leaves it on because someone never likes it (does well in Hami fights though). The def bonus from hoover and hasten are compareable so you don't really get a benefit from hover. And air superiority is basically just another melee attack. Which squishy wants a melee attack? And what non-squishy wants another melee attack?

I had hover and dropped it as soon as I figured out to make my toon a lot better (hasten+superspeed+superjump) .
  8. I completly agree with the title in that one can no longer level up to level 10 over night. I remember the days when I could start an alt and have him/her up to 10 and then decide I don't like the power set and just delete the toon in a night. Where over a weekend I could level up soloing two or three toons to at least level 8 no problem. This made it fun for me to start a new toon. But now WOW is it hard.

I've had a new katana/inv scrapper at level 7 for at least 2 weeks because it is so much more difficult to play her (read: not impossible, just not as easy). Everyone knows low level alts are better when they at least get a travel or more powers, slotted up and now it is more challenging to get that alt higher. Which in turn may mean that I may take more pride in my alts than just deleting when I want to try something new.

    [ QUOTE ]
Oh, and everyone has posted how the low level game is screwed. Devs say their going to fix it and no one is holding there breathe.

    [/ QUOTE ]

It is good to know that it wasn't just me. But I am holding my breath for them to adress this issue. This has been the best game in terms of dev response. Usually you don't get a chance to respond at all, like any other non-mmorpg game. Why did they make the multiplayer game in battle fronts 1 per x-box?

    [ QUOTE ]
Cheers to Statesman and everyone else working on CoH, I can't complain much after reading his reply and what is being done about it.

This is a big reason why I'll be playing CoH 2 years from now

    [/ QUOTE ]

/agree! Again the devs at CoH are doing a fan-f'ing-tastic job keeping me interested in wanting to play the game. I met Jack at the Chicago Con too, what a great guy. I was kind of hoping he would hit whirlwind and change into his Statemen costume, now that would have made me sign up for life!

    Statemen sez: [ QUOTE ]
That's not a bug. The Hollows is a Hazard Zone - just like Perez Park. It's spawns are designed for small groups of heroes. If you're a solo player, you should be able to avoid the spawns, if you're careful. If you're hunting, then find a friend.

    [/ QUOTE ]

That is one thing I don't like though. Many times I don't like grouping, especially in the early levels. With my main, when I was going through the growing pains, I had so much fun soloing and was leveling at a pretty great rate. Maybe people were leveling too fast for their liking but now its not that easy to solo or you get the shaft and for that reason, I agree with the following poster:

    [ QUOTE ]
Casual gaming is dead. I'm out, /salute.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Except that I am not out. I guess I just need to get used to grouping now.

On the flip side however, they didn't make it harder for my level 45 main. She still is a soloing machine and nothing is really all that challenging (well, I stil;l can't solo level 50s effectively, but soon muahahaha). What I mean, is that I HAVE to group with her again only to make the missions more challenging. When I street hunt, I fight level 47s, 48s and 49s. Why can't I fight that level in missions instead of 45s & 46s which are a cake walk for me?

MAKE THE GAME HARDER FOR HIGHER LEVELS, and leave the low guys alone haha.

One last thing, I totall disagree with: [ QUOTE ]
so the game is harder at low level, and missions are crazy hard for lowbies in certain archetypes (ie anything without really powerful low level defense), but what is the big deal with that? I mean, its all either new subscribers who we dont want around anyway

i think it should be near impossible to get through outbreak, nip the whole "new user" or "alt" thing in the bud. let the outbreak contaminated all have mass chain holds and lvl 32 nukes i say.

    [/ QUOTE ]

If we don't get new subscribers to the game, then Cryptic will have to lay people off, thus not responding to our requests, making the game lamer, yada yada yada.

    20 minutes and counting!

    [/ QUOTE ]

18 now. I was going to cut out early but my manager just walked by say, "i guess my meeting was canceled" damn the luck haha. Oh well, 18 minutes......
  10. [ QUOTE ]
Argh, 2 more hours before I can run home and log on (and I do mean RUN--I walk to work)!

    [/ QUOTE ]

Lucky you, I live 40 minutes away and that is when traffic is smooth. I can already tell there will be 5 accidents and geese crossing the road when I leave here, 1 hour and 14 mintues and eagerly counting.
  11. [ QUOTE ]
At the end of the work day...

if you see someone running faster than normal or jumping over cars, that is probably a COH player.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Isn't that the truth!

I know I'll be driving like a mad man, where is my Gotta Play CoH bumber sticker at?
  12. I've heard that the story arcs break too so I never get it unless I am the mission owner. Plus I agree with this quote:

    [ QUOTE ]
It's common courtesy even if it doesn't break anything. Unless I'm given the okay by the mission owner, I always keep my hands off the goodies. If I find any, a simple tell in team will get them to my location ASAP and hardly takes any time at all.

    [/ QUOTE ]

And even if it does give exp the mission is the owners and he/she should be getting the exp IMO.
