I also created a character with TA's costume so I could have a "3-D model" to work from...I feel much more confident now that I have that.

I use the corean character creator wich work separately of the game for exactly that. You can also have the toon do emotes on it. It is kinda my virtual model.
By the way great work so far. I am really looking foward to seeing the finish product.
It seems everyone is doing TA right now. I wonder what he is going to do when everyone is finished? -
Great work as always Graver
I am looking foward to seeing the finished product. Ther is something about water color that give (I don't know how else to describe it ) feeling to the picture.
I also liked a lot to see the different step. Specially the early concept. I must draw 10 of those for every picture that even makes it to a thumbnail. In teresting to see I am not the only one. -
Working on the background now
Since this is, I think, usually my weakest part comments would be very welcome.
Thank you.

Tracing good or bad?
To me it seems that all the "expert" say don't. ( I am not just talking about PMD, DJ , Atomic and other board artist but also all the books I ever read). However in my mind it depens on who you are and what you want to acheive.
Kinda similar to: Can you learn to hit a baseball using a T-ball?
Can you learn to paint using paint by number kits?
can you learn to ride a bicycle using training weels?
I will stick with the baseball analogy.
My answer is if you are juuuust starting a t-ball can help get you entousiastic but it wont "teach" you anything. Lotsa kids start hitting a ball on a T-ball. It helps little in teaching the how to hit since the ball is not moving and they will actually often take all kinds of bad habbit because of it but... it makes the game fun. They actually get to hit a ball and thus play the game. It is the same with tracing.
In a short time (usually a year) the kids move to having someone lob the ball to them ( at least that is the way it is done here) they thus start learning to hit a ball in movement. The ball however is purposly thrown to be easy to hit. This way they learn but still get the satisfaction of playing the game. I would compare that to copying. Copying can teach you more than tracing because you have to think about what you do.
The next steps in baseball are gradual. kids learn from coaches the "proper" way to hit. From watching the pros they may learn different "styles" of hitting. Eventually they may even make it to the big leagues and inspire a new generation of players. Meanwhile even once they are proffesionnal they still refine their hitting techniques. That progression would be the same for artist.Eventually copying leads into modifying picture and (eventually) just being inspired by other poeple art, making your own original art, being paid for it inspiring a new generation.
Sooo is tracing bad? Is using a T-ball bad? depends where you are, what you are trying to acheive.
The last thing I would say, and I know this was not the OP's question, is that tracing and then claiming the results as your own THAT is a big no no. -
I just realised another one that was never mentionned here is Poison. I always like his stuff.

Thanks ....Actually I have that book. I bought it when it originally came out and forgot about it since. I will reread it.
From his site I saw that he his going to publish another book so I will try and get it when it comes out. -

Very nice. I love the nod to the GL-Corps.
There's enough raw comic-talent on these boards, I wonder why Top Cow is handling the comic? This piece looks tons better than the Top Cow stuff.

Specially the last issue.
Ok sorry that was mean.....True but mean.
Very nice . The coloring has a very comic book feel to it. (As compared to a poster feel to it ..... I don't know if I makes sens but I hope you understand what I mean) Kinda like the last page of a to be continued rather than the cover.
Great work ... Now I want to buy the next issue to learn what happens -
Does anyone know of a good book about comicbook storytelling? I do not mean script writing but rather the how to of transfering a script to a visally interesting story.
I would like to learn more about this, and at least in my mind it is a very different skillset then drawing.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. -
I have said it before. My problem with MoG is not that it is too weak (it is but that is not the problem for me) Even before the nerfs when it was good I hated it. Because it is NOT a regen power. It just does not fit the power set. Its kinda like if the SR were getting as a last power a power that would shot off all their defences and five them cap resist. I would not matter if that power was uber or gimped it would not fit the set. Well that is what MoG is.
Please if you are going to have to put in new code anyway. Redo MoG from the ground up. -
Great aquisition.
I love the pose.
Someone said it already but I got to agree the lace is just superb. -
Thanks for posting that
It is always instructive to see other poeples working.
Now do you think we could convince DJ to do such a video? -
I like a lot
The hood: looks a bit to thick to me specially on the side away from the viewer. Might just be me though
The gloves: Yeah I know what you mean. I just had to draw them on Atomic knight and now on TA. If you look at them They are like big footballs not the normal shape of forearms the wrist is completely lost in them. Mind you I like the gloves you gave him anyway. -
PMD great work.
I whish I had some great insight to give but you are the best at that. All I could see was already mentionned.
I am realy looking foward to seing it colored. -
If your problem is commitement here is what worked for me :
1.Get a sketch book. Carry it with you along with a pen or pencil. Doodle a lot . Anything everything.
2. Commit to specific projects. If you have friends in the game tell them you are drawing them. If you start posting here ( you said you would get a scammer eventually) show WIPs. You will get support , and because you have said you will do something it becomes more difficult to procrastinate.
3. Read the threads here . It will get your juices flowing.
4. Through all this have fun... That is the most important one
just my 2 Inf. -
Thanks ,
more booty - That will make my wife happy - yep I see what you mean . Thanks for the good observation.
Could you also tell me for the far hand (his right hand) wich is a better placement the one in the thumbnail (lower) or the one in the rough (higher)?
Anything else I should adjust? -
Good work
I particularly like the last pannel of the "edited version" -
Thank you Pep !
I like a lot. You got the right feeling for him : Happy to be fighting. -
It seems I just could not not draw him. He is like a standard here.
I am working on Thor's assassin .
Here is the thumbnail I did of what I have in mind and the rough pencils of the bottom figure.
I would appreciate your comments on this whil I can still fix glaring mistakes without too much frutrations
Thanks

You left out one of my personal favorite artists here, Sayterra. Her work has that great animation style, filled with character. She has some of the best poses on the board IMO. They're so fluid and natural.

Yep I also noticed he missed that one. And I agree that she is great.
And He was too humble to put.
_Juggertha_ : This guy ran out of ink and never went back to buy more (either that or Celtic bolt stole all he had) His lineless art is distinctive and impressive. -
