oooOOooo pretty! I always loved poisons work. Very nice. Great acquisition there!
Oh, and fwy, Scarf_Girl... not only is she a vampire (I guess) but what she's doing in that pic is also called "Vamping"... so she's a vampire vamp, niiiice
From Merriam Webster online:
Vamp
Main Entry: vamp
Function: noun
: a woman who uses her charm or wiles to seduce and exploit men.
Vamp
Function: verb
transitive verb : to practice seductive wiles on
intransitive verb : to act like a vamp <vamping for the camera> -
Nice so far there, sir!
I'd have to agree that the feet are too small (but then again, I think I see all hands and feet as being too small... damn you Sam Keith, damn you!) In this situation though, with all of that armor he's toting around, he needs some good strong feet to hold it all up and keep him from falling over. I'd say that the heel on the his left foot (our right) is about the right size, but you went and cheated him in the toe department. It looks as if someone's about to get stomped (that or TA's in a chorus line... sorry, it came in my head and I couldn't resist... like he's dancing with joy over the nerfs he keeps bringing')... and to do that stompin' effectively, he needs some good stumpers. As his feet are right now... he looks like he'd be quite dainty out of the armor
If you get the chance, you might wanna beef his hands up a touch as well... of course I'm sick and see all hands and feet as needing to be bigger. It looks great so far and I can't wait to see it done... as I've ever only seen one work from you, I'm anxious to see more. Now work harder, work faster! My lill' 'troller still has trouble taking those regen scrappers down! -
hey, good work so far on TA (is everyone doing TA right now?
)
As for the prop problem you're having, I'd say the best way for you to solve it would be to get a broom and a big round disk (cut a circle out of a cardboard box or some such) and tape it to the business end of the broom. Take your new prop and go pose in front of a full length mirror... or if you have a digital camera with a timer, get several shots of you posing with the prop. Pay special attention to what your fingers and hands are doing to support the broom as well as what position feels most natural for the broom to be in. That should help a lot with the prop position and perspective thing. -
Look's great so far! I'd go with the hlower hand as well.. it has a touch more power to it.
-
oooOOOOooooo that's looking right good so far! Although, I'm not sure I understand how masking saves time. I tried that once... took me longer to mask the drawing, put the wash down... put the wash down again because the masking caused the brush to skip over an area, then remove the masking... of course I was using masking tape... so maybe this fluid you speak of might work... hum.
I can't wait to see this one finished. Yay for watercolor! -

so do I win the best E-Friend award ?
[/ QUOTE ]
*sighs and shakes his head* No, I'm afraid you don't you silly girl. You got a couple wrong... tisk tisk.
First of all, the pink bondage fish is The_PMD (it's soooo obvious, I don't know where you got PlasmaStream from... The_PMD = The Pink Masochistic Dominatrixfish... derr)
Secondly, yes, you are depicted, but I don't know where on earth you got the idea that the fish with the scarf was you (that's thehyperone). The eel (who, for reasons that are completely beyond me, you thought was TA) is you, silly. See, an eel looks a lot like a worm, and worm sounds a lot like wyrm, which is another name for dragon... derr.
And the fish with the blond pony tails, Pep_Rally? [censored]? That's is so definitely Juggs... and, and, wow... I'll stop pointing out your glaring misinterpretations. Where you get some of those ideas in yer head is just beyond me
But you were right on one of them at least, the froggy is me ('cause I is a froggy [censored] ya know) and I have HANDS! HAHAHA! None of you other fishies have hands! Now, only I will have the power to DRAW! Now I will be the BESTEST on this forum! HAhahahahaha*croak*hahahaha... oh... *casts a shifty eye towards GillBates* oh, wait... so there's still another that must be taken down... hummm *begins plotting*
heh, all silliness aside, I, with everyone else does so love the aquarium (it's fun playing spot the character... kinda like the plushies in your first DB pic) I hope you make more like that one.
Ohm, and I said it before, but it's gotta be said again, you did a great job on Windfallen... your proportions and full body work is really coming along great! In fact, so great is your improvements that I feel you small thing to consider maybe... if you want... possibly.
I noticed that the bulk of your forearms are, for the most part, oval in shape. However, the bulk of the forearm muscle is in the first half to 2/3 of the forearm. The last third close to the wrist is pretty much just bone and tendon. A shape that's a closer approximation to the forearm would be more of an egg like ellipse... or even better, and oval for the first half or so of the arm and a tube for the second half. Here's a rough diagram to give you a better idea of what I'm trying to say here.
Eitherway, keep up the GREAT work and don't let that law stuff suck all the art out of you
Edit: And your wrong too, Star. How th' hell can you get the identaties of the fish wrong when it's your own drawing??????? -

And lets not forget Atomic Knight. He can do a whole bunch of styles, but his own kicks the most [censored].

It's like a tall glass of OJ... heavy on the pulp
And... ya... piles of artists were left out... I'll just add one to the stack...
Pep_Rally, who has a nice touch of low-brow punk to her work... though, it might just be me, but I think I see some AK influence on ya as well for a bit of flavor. -
That's a right cute drawing there Star... and your getting better at the full body shots (and I still love your eyes!) I did notice that her left leg is a touch to long, but all in all, you are really getting the knack of maintaining good internal proportions. The line flow in it is great was well... nice job using the cape to move the eye from the head, down the body, and out her right leg.
Keep it up (and don't let those evil pants of MADNESS. Not everyone wears such evil pants)
Validated! -
How ever you got it done.. and how ever long it took, it seems to have worked wonders as it all came together to produce a right nice piece!

I quite like it! And I love the direction with the boots. I wish those types of gear was available in game. But, alas...
Thanks very much...and eventually, I'll make a Absinthium pic I'll like...lol
[/ QUOTE ]
Glad you like... and hey, I don't mind you not being satisfied with Abby... and I love the direction your going. The 5min drawing to get her proportions down is spot on! Not only are ya good... but if that's only 5 min of work, yer freakin' amazing... and fast... damn...

Wanna know how much it bugs me that i didn't capture the look i wanted? I sketched this in my lil' sketchbook while at work:
Revised Abby
A little better, but not best, IMHO. I'd probably push the wild look a bit more, leaner limbs, and a more feral pose. Like a joke gone bad. At least thats what I get, so far. I've been using a scarf wrap. In CoH scarfs and some cape just are "pinned" to the back of the hero. I like to have some base in reality. And since I couldn't cover the spiked choaker with a tight wrap, I went for a very loose one.
And the pose? I wanted to simulate a striaght jacket. If I do have time to redo this, I'd have her scarf and arm wrapings REALLY give that look with an almost tangled design.
[/ QUOTE ]
Well, first off, I really do like the first one. Yer right, it's not really Abby (or maybe someone went and cut out all the crap that's probably tangled in her hair, combed it real quick, and then put a shinny sparkly thing in front of the camera to hold her attention... everything degenerated horribly the moment after that picture was taken) but it's still technically a beautiful drawing and I'm very very very very happy to have it! yes!
And I'm doubly happy to have anouther! Two for the price of one, YES!
I'm sorry I fergot ta post more info about her... things like that slip my mind, sorry. If you want, here's a link to her bio and one to an ongoing set of story fragments from her life here
Either way, I really like the direction your going in with her. I dearly love the mentioning of anything tangled... and lean and feral describe her well. Impish is what comes to mind when I think her. When she moves, she leaps and scuttles and she never sits anywhere, she perches (on roof tops, window sills, the backs of chairs, on top of dressers, on the table in your soup while your trying to eat, on your head...). So, ya, you really do have a feel for her now... I can't wait to see the finished revised version. So far it's quite nice. I would agree with PMD about the head, bigger head = younger looking. And as for your liberties with the scarf... definitely needed, and it looks GREAT (I really like the new pose as well...! I would have went with a scarf wrap in game, but it has serious clipping issues with Abby's face... it drives me up the wall, so I can't use it
Man, I still can't get over getting two out of ya for the price of one!
Oh, and about that price... (thought I forgot, didn't ya?) Here is
The Atomic Knight with Atomic Cyro-Discharger Modular Upgrade
I hope you like it... I took a few liberties with his armor, I hope you don't mind but I couldn't find a single screen shot of him with his feet clearly shown -had no idea what boot's he wore, so I just made some up. And I altered his chest plate a touch to make it look more knightly
And I kow I promised graphite... but Watercolor was just faster and easer for me... hope ya don't mind.

Jeez! Does everyone have black costumes? LOL...
I'm not made of pencil lead!
[/ QUOTE ]
Actually, if you go back to page 1 and review my costumes, you'll find that the largest bulk of the cloth is white... so,.. um... save your lead and do Abby... I mean, draw her, gawd, get those thoughts out of yer head! perv! -
Yay! New comics! YES! I love... mapeserved (nice name
)... although I'd have to say "Exchange Rates" is may fav out of you new ones XD. Keep 'em comming or... or... I'll... um... probably do nothing, but it'll not be... fun... ya. So, keep that in mind!

Radey Ayte
Notes: I had some time trying to find the right look. I don't like to just pencil a generic pose and slap on a costume. I want the pic to show what the hero/villain is about. I think I finally got it, when from her stories and profile, she's a very pissy character (lol). So, I had to heap on loads of attitude. She's seemingly always angry. Drew her at about age 17 (she's in the Teen Squadron), but I could make her younger looking if need be.
[/ QUOTE ]
*two thumbs up* Heh, that expresion is dead perfict for Radey! And you we quite good at gussing her age too... least I think she's 17... pretty sure of it. Great drawing of her though! You really captured her XD -
Love how AK turned out Star... he looks so damned pleased to have sparkles! The background turned out nice and the helmit (especialy the goggles... nice shading on them) is great!
-
Wohooo! A chance to get a piece from Atomic Knight for a price I can afford! YES! Okay, so, here is a few screenies of Absinthium in her current two outfits (you can chose which one ya wanna do). And for a bit of background on her, she's a deranged delusional illusionist with glowing green blood ((ill/rad troller)). Do with / to her as you see fit and I'll get to work on a pencil drawing of AK (graphite for graphite seems like a right even trade
). It might take a few days since I'll have to work him around my current commissions, but I figure I should be able to get it done while waiting for a layer of paint to dry on my watercolors.
Abby: Main Outfit (it's not too visable, but that's a black scarf she's wearing on her head, swabbie I think it's called)
Abby: Tophat
If there's anything else, just ask... -
Pep, I believe Starchasm used crayon for that one... with a watercolor background. She is the mistress of Crayola after all
Oh, and Star, if you can email me the full sized version of Pep, I could see if there's anything I can tweak on my end to get those lines not to be so broken up. I really really like this pic and it's a shame the lines have to be all dotty like that.
-
yup, submission info is in the comic and on the boards... somewhere... I think. Anyway, ya, you should send them into the comic. they really are good. Nice clean style and a wicked sense of humor!
-
Suppa nice! I can't wait to see how this one turns out. Question, why th' red pencil? Just what was handy... or do ya have something... *narrows eyes as shadows descend across his face and an ominous music slowly swells up in thew gloom* in mind? *those last two words are all like echoing in some kinda supper cool ominous and dramatic way... that's not cheesy or stupid at all, it's cool, I swear! Bah, you don't know what cool is...*

This cartoon reminds me of something...I don't know what exactly, but it is vaguely familliar.
[/ QUOTE ]
I would agree... the style is a lot like... something I've seen... don't know what. But XD, dude, that's right amusing! -
Jus' gotta chime in here, I love the style you do the bulk of your drawings in... especaily the Ginat. I love the sketchy lines and lose look that it has while, at the same time, maintianing a very solid and almost tangible feel to it, like you can reach in to the work and pick him up. It's great. You work is just strait up fun to look at
