Considering Sin_Harvest's Avatar they must know what they're talking about!
-
I order them to actually attack a specific enemy, though I don't see why this should let nearby enemies suddenly see through my stealth.

Sweet new I7 emotes! I wanna be a pumpkin, I wanna be a pumpkin!

I'm not 100% certain on this so want to hear from a few others, but have any of you noticed that when your pets attack it will now aggro you immediately so that any enemies in the group not yet injured by your pets will attack you even while stealthed (i.e. pets attacking effectively removes your stealth)? Didn't notice this happening with my first MM, usually the enemies only aggro'd on me when my pets were all dead or if it was an ambush, is this new since the last patch or was I previously just lucky?

Damn that kid in the video was scary but anyhooo...
I've sat back and watched fights myself before but I still do a regular spin around to keep an eye open, just because I've said I'm not going to attack the duelists doesn't mean I'm suddenly immune to attack from others. If you enter an open PvP zone you have to accept you can be attacked without warning, tag-teamed, picked off when weak from another fight, etc...
If you're not willing to accept this head off to the arena and stop complaining, leave those who are willing to take those risks to enjoy ourselves. -
I just enjoy the change (at least when not playing MM, then I'm so squishy I've learned to not even bother with PVP), and, IMO, there's nothing more villainous than beating up a goodie-two-shoes (lost one of mine in the sewers) hero.

Agreed on that one. But with my current MM I'm not gonna use attacks, so I'm not picking up any of the patron powers for my MM.

Know how you feel, have 1 hold power from my dark 2ndary, and the dark healing power from the same set, and the first two attacks from the zombie MM set. That's more than enough direct involvement in the battle IMO, the only reason I'd even care about patron powers would be if they helped in PvP, where MMs do seem to just be moving bullseyes.
So I suppose a nice set would be:
hide/stealth type power
Sniper shot type power
Area effect knockback, centred on MM
Area effect Immobilise, centred on MM
So the only ones which have even one power which I might consider at the moment would be Scirocco (3rd power) and Black Scorpion (1st power), and in both cases they require aiming at an enemy. The reason I give for the effects to be centred on you would be that they can allow a quick getaway when surrounded or getting pummeled by something big. I know there are a few cone attacks in the patron sets but that limits how many enemies you can use it to flee from.
The hide/stealth power, better to pass un-noticed when ordering your pets about, not really something new to a MM, since we can use the power pools for it, but still useful.
What do you guys think? -
That's why I think they really should've given us a sniper shot power, it's one MM's really could use, without going completely against all MM common sense (plunging into the middle of a fight just so we can use some pitiful power).
-
Whenever I've ventured into Siren's Call I've found that by the time you get in range for a hold (or any non-pet attack for that matter) you've usually already been spotted so I don't think they'd be as useful in PVP as you're expecting.

You indirectly get that through your liche, do you really feel you need yourself casting it too?
I don't think melee powers are the way to go either since you're then doing exactly what you're not supposed to and putting your MM in direct combat and I don't think even the new bodyguard thing will make us near strong enough to be leaping right into the fray regularly. -
Could work quite well to address our squishyness, but we'll probably all need a recharge enhancement on our lowest pets due to how often we'll need to resummon in PVP. Still could be a big improvement on current standings.

Are some of Ghost Widow's powers not already in the MM dark set though?
She was the one I wanted to take so as to stick with Gravecall's theme but not really particularly interested in any of them now;
Already have a hold power,
Shouldn't be getting close enough to need a defense boost (outside PVP anyway)
Already have ranged personal attacks and pretty sure some of the powers I've yet to take offer area effects.
Powers I would've liked to have seen:
Sniper attack (help in PVP)
Self Res (like for brutes as we're too squishy when backed into a corner and a little extra defence ain't going to cut it if we can't resummon quickly/if there are more enemies than pet or if they're just ignoring our pets regardless)
Another pet (shouldn't need explaining)
Another buff for our pets (again shouldn't need explaining) -

great idea tie it in with gladiator badges on sg badges you earn the glad badge for teh group you get that thing wondering about on patrol but set it up the exact same way glad arena matchs are you only get a limited amout of points to spend on patroling units
[/ QUOTE ]
Perhaps have it require an additional room such as a barracks in order to use them, the size of the barracks dictates how many are allowed in the base, with each patroling unit then costing prestige themselves. -
Hmm... and there I'd thought that I'd no longer need that slotting now that I have stamina... I'll have to keep a closer eye on those endurance bars so...
Thanks for the info. -
True, locking you out seems silly since otherwise you might be able to get rid of the neccessary items to have enough prestige to pay the rent.

If anyone else is doing this respec over the weekend (any time from ~ 19:30 Friday - 18:00 Saturday) and looking for extra team-members please let me know. Preferably give me advance notice so I can arrange meals and such around it rather than during (and of course let any teams I might join in the mean-time know in advance too that I might have to leave at short notice).
-
Demons are one set I'd definitely like to see..., suppose to keep with the character a fire based secondary set might be needed though.

Should try do what I did and get another player to help transfer all your alts into the SG. You may have to bribe them obviously but well worth it IMO. I started when I reached Lv10 and kept working from there and have >50K earned prestige from this (Lv21 now), the rest is from the alts joining the SG. If you're looking for a slow down starting another alt certainly couldn't hurt, just be patient.

Nightfall
Got the game over Xmas so I started this SG myself and thanks to the aid of another player transferred my alts into it. Got 160K through this and >50K through playing, so only the entrance and one other, non-functional, room at the moment, slowly earning the prestige to build it up so eventually it'll be something of note.
Main character is Gravecall, Lv21 MM necro
