I've never had a problem with the mothership raids - it would get a little jerky sometimes, but only for a second or two.

What's your monitor resolution? I think you can't have the game at a higher resolution than your monitor.

Actually, I quite like them - especially the new Roman ones - they look like an old dungeon or crypt - I think it adds variety to the modern and sci-fi maps and city zones.

When you changed the name, did you do it by right clicking, selecting "properties", then changing the file address bar thing?

Well, first explain what you mean by "not very good"
If you have fun playing them, then they're all extremely good

This sounds like a quite common bug where it tries to download the American version of the game.
To fix it, change the updater from "cohupdater.exe" to "cohupdater.EU.exe" - that should make it launch the proper version.

I was going to do that, but then I remembered that none of the existing newbie zones have events/GMs so I didn't - I figure the Devs don't want new players getting mown down while they're still new at the game.
