Which makes me wonder about buff powers, if someone buffs you with a power that creates an aura or armour will you be subjected to their choice of power colouring? If that's the case I would love a way for players to be able to shift+right-click a buff power icon to deactivate it if they want to.
[/ QUOTE ]
Very good question to which we hopefully will get an answer-and in fact they should make a way to opt out from horrible buff colour schemes.
[/ QUOTE ]
Or an option to totally avoid a buff - like you get a promt box, and say yes or no to the buff.
[/ QUOTE ]
Oh god no..
Anything but that.. Imagine every time someone casts SB, AM, whatever, you have to do the clickety..
Better give an option in the menu that suppresses the custom buffcolors or something.
[/ QUOTE ]
Well, a "refuse all buffs" option in the menu then

fi they do it tactical, they release it before CO hit's the stores.
they can try and take the chance when CO is released, but i think that i16 will look like nothing after they tasted CO.
it's a 50/50 guess, but it's best to show it before CO.

I'm treading very carefully here, but looks are not everything.
Games these days have to be innovative in gameplay as well. If it's the same old systems rehashed, then any new game released - that is like that - runs the risk of failure.
I don't expect there to be any new superhero MMO release in 2009.
[/ QUOTE ]
Are you implying CO may not be the WoW killer we all assumed it was going to be?

I16 closed beta is straight after Comic-con, so pretty hot on the heels after I15 then.

I15 is out now? NEWS TO ME!

Then spend more time out of the Mongoose Cave
And go to www.paragonwiki.com and search for I15 to get a good overview

I hope GR is good.

It will be - in many ways

and on another note.. this is rubbish...why cant we get one in euro/UK?
however...hope it is and will go well over there. and look forward to pics
[/ QUOTE ]
I think this is very cool.
And this one is pretty good too.
Here's a better view of Desdemona's outfit - which seems to be not exactly like the GR drawings we've seen so far...
And this one just demands the caption "Hey, aren't you the same guy who's come to train 38 times in the past 2 hours?"
-
[ QUOTE ]
That's some cool stuff right there, I will admit. Love the blue healing flames, and means my fire/fire scrapper will no longer suffer the pain of green healing fire.

Another exciting part of PC is that new enemies and revamps of older ones will quite possibly have customized powers now - like Mother Mayhem now appears to lead a group of "Seers" in Praetoria instead of the Crazed she has now, so they might have purple colored psychic powers instead of the default pink ones, to match her outfit. -

If you're at Comic Con make sure to stop by and get your own Awesome Button.

You're really taking the [censored] now, aren't you?
[/ QUOTE ]
It's not 100% impossible for an EU player to currently be in the US you know.
[/ QUOTE ]
No, it's not. But 99.999999% won't be, so rubbing their noses in it and all that.
[/ QUOTE ]
I think the message is quite simple - to be awesome, you must be in America

It's so good, it even gets mentioned on a loading screen tip

You're never going to remove the incentive for players to level 1-50 in the shortest time. It doesn't matter what you do, o who they ban, or what the devs restrict EVERYONE in the game from doing.
Farming will exist as long as games with levels and items that can be reaped from repeating the same action over again.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm pretty sure the devs know that - what they want to do is stop the 1-50 being quite so fast
-
I'm pretty sure they might make it available as a bundle deal with CoH too , for people who've never played at all - and that'd have a free month for sure.

And then GR after, so it can mop up the survivors one month on
-
[ QUOTE ]
Within a month of CO, because unless CO is absolutely dire people will play for their free month before they ditch it and return... if they do.
[/ QUOTE ]
They will
-
We'll get them all for PC eventually, I think - just like I think they'll expand animation choice from MA and SS only to most other sets as well.
But right now, doing all that would impact their schedule way to much - I16 will give players major customizing options for the majority of powers, with the chance to roll it out further during other Issues, just like they've done with power proliferation. -
[ QUOTE ]
And just a little picture of Ms. Liberty and Desdemona for those have an interest in seeing them!
[/ QUOTE ]
I never knew Desdemona's outfit had a half corset with it - it makes it look more complex than the drawings on the GR site.
Nice work on the tattoo too

Further to the MotD that was deployed ingame a couple of weeks ago, please be aware that the next Double XP Weekend will be on in 2 weeks:
Start: Friday, 31 July 2009, at 8:59 a.m. British Summer Time/9:59 a.m. Central European Summer Time
Finish: Sunday, 2 August 2009, 8:59 p.m. BST/9:59 p.m. CEST
[/ QUOTE ]
In which case, they're cutting it too bloody fine, IMO.
Aiming to have the boards coming back (assuming the 72 hours is accurate) online after the DXP weekend has started? That's not a good idea, as the boards will be absolutely hammered by people checking to see if they got their user name, see what's new and shiny etc. etc.
They seem to be giving themselves no breathing room, but that's likely just my pessimism kicking in.
[/ QUOTE ]
Think of it as a forum stress test then
-
I think the main reason to do it now is to have the new forum set up and ready to handle the flood of posts when Freedom server falls over on 2XP weekend

Exactly what I was thinking when I read that part. In fact when it said:

..and what to do to change yours after..

I almost.. almost thought that regardless of reg date etc.. it would be the EU people who will be the ones required to change. Hopefully thats just a generic message that got posted on both EU and US boards.

What's the final step "Register" for?
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm sure you've already realised this GG, but I'd say as an educated guess that the "Register" tab is the superhero Registration tab... AKA I.D as is now!

Ok, been a while since I was at that stage
And here's something else from BAB - not really info, but related to PC and I16:

On a somewhat unrelated note, I just want to take a second to thank you guys for being so positive and excited about this feature that's consumed so much of my life for so long. It's been a very long haul and tremendous amount of work from many people on the team. Your excitement about this feature is making it so much easier for me to continue to be excited about it, and that's making it a lot nicer to get through the final stretches of finishing this issue up and into your hands. I can't speak for the other people who've done a tremendous amount of work on this feature as well, but for me personally...it's a huge deal.
The handful of non-glowing responses I've seen have been very reasonable and more in the realm of disappointed but still understanding. For that I'm exceedingly grateful.
So thanks for staying positive and constructive, it makes reading the forums so much easier and working on this game so much more rewarding.

It just feels like a half-[censored] job again, similar to MA. That was even delayed to add something the players really wanted adding, so why can't they do it with this?
They are basing issue 16 all about power customisation, it's what the issue is focused on, seemingly almost in it's entirety. I can't see the point of not doing it properly. There's not even going to be that many powers in the pools to actually change, a lot of them don't have colour effects, such as fitness pool.
Why do it improperly?
[/ QUOTE ]
Because it won't fit their release schedule - CO is this year, and they're sure to want PC out before it launches.
[/ QUOTE ]
CO is this year - at the moment.
It remains to be seen if it will actually make its September release date - never mind 2009.

[ QUOTE ]
yeah I don't think GR will be anywhere near as "big" as COV, but there's a couple of very often asked for things (the whole going rogue idea, and pistols powers are my own personal wants from this), if they're done well (new stuff works, and doesn't break old stuff in the process), and it isn't too expensive (£20, maybe £25 with a month sub included) then I'll be happy.
[/ QUOTE ]
I only just pay about £25 for a new game let alone an expansion for an old game. £15 is much better
[/ QUOTE ]
I think it might be more than that - but don't forget the free month playtime
