The speed that he was picked up by Cryptic does kinda hint that this wasn't a sudden thing.

Natural heroes can already survive being hit in the face with guns and rockets - I don't think a few extra feet on their jumps really matters that much

Quote:Yes - I think he had it lined up, as it's a pretty fast switch.Did BaBs go to...Cryptic?
His linkedin lists him as Senior Animator/VFX at Cryptic Studios (and doesn't appear to be a reference to his previous employment there.)
Perhaps the one corner of Jack's mind that still remembers the real world realized that he'd be an huge asset to them? -
Quote:I think that means he must have had the move lined up - otherwise it's a really fast hireGood for him. I'm honestly very glad if that's the case. Hopefully the other 8 will find work just as fast.

Maybe CO will finally get some nice looking animations? That's always been one of its major problems for me

His Linkedin profile now says he's back at Cryptic

Then a 10 minute break for snacks would be a good idea

It's hinted in the new GR content that his Praetorian version is alive there, and is being held prisoner.

Make an alt? What kind of suggestion is that?

But both of those examples you gave would be close to the Resistance - they're both breaking away from Tyrant - at least one PEAT would need to be able to work as a loyal servant of Tyrant, and while the standard Clockwork and Seers are both loyal to him, they're still too mindless to function as independent enforcers of Tyrant's rule.

Quote:There'd be more than 9 let go thenOr sales have been lackluster even with packs and GR so they're trimming their cost to keep maintaining the game.

Only 9 means the team is still around 60 - which still seems like a lot of people to be working on just one title
-
Quote:But like with all games, they don't need everyone who works on an expansion after the expansion is released. This truly sucks. I had hoped Paragon was doing well enough with GR and booster sales to keep everyone and in fact to hire new people for future projects. Good luck BaBs.

As I mentioned earlier, GR neeed a lot of zone work, because it was giving us 4-6 new zones - but as we won't be getting 4-6 new zones in the upcoming Issues, the people who worked on the GR zones aren't all needed now - and the same with all the people who worked on Ultra Mode - now that it's done and added to the game, not all of them are needed anymore either.
The upcoming Issues are not GR-sized, so there's no need for a GR-sized team to work on them. -

Quote:Well, it's quite posisbel that after over half a decade of workign no the game he simply wanted a change and a new challenge - or could even be a financial reason - someone with his talent would be valuable to any other dev team, so he could have gotten a very tempting offer. This upsets me a great deal, as BaB was not only a valuable asset to the game, but he was friendly, accessible, and downright likable. He was always willing to listen to the players and took great care to explain things to us so we'd understand. He addressed my own concerns with weapon scaling and customization, and made it a point at the first HeroCon to pull me aside and explain his position to me in detail. That meant a lot to me.
I'm incredibly disappointed by the actions of Paragon Studios today. -
Quote:I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one who finds your comments about him bizarre and paranoid. No, absolutely not. I like his efforts to interact with the community and he's a friendly, likable guy. He's also a shill and a ham, and if you feel its ridiculously hostile for me to point that out, or to interpret his comment earlier as brushing Babs under the rug a bit, then that's fine. I know you're the peppy cheerleader around here but I haven't really got anything I need to explain to you.

Quote:Do you have some personal problem with David Nakayama? You seem ridiculously hostile.I guess as far as off beat community interaction goes, we still have Castle and the shill Noble Savage. Which isn't saying Babs being fired made it that way, he went silent months ago so I can't blame it on that. I can however blame it on marketing, and lament the old days of dev/player interactions on the forums. I guess the dev events in game will have to do for that, from here on out!
