  2. Machines aren't organic, and they can't have souls or a spirit.
  3. A machine will never be really alive, no matter how advanced we can make them - they'll still just be running on software.
  4. It's even dumber than that, because we're actually going to get to see that portal to Primal Earth

The orignal GR trailer also shows an incorrect picture of Nova Praetoria on the viewing screen at 0:56, plus other rage-inducing acts of dishonesty such as Tyrant ordering the invasion while wearing his armor, when the Apex TF trailer now shows him doing it in his civilian clothes, plus the red banners beside his tower are nowhere to be seen.

The lie of Maelstrom being present at the launch of the invasion is also another one of Paragon Studios' vicious tricks.
  5. I hope no one who saw the part at 1:08 felt cheated about the blade color when it hit the theaters:

  7. It's perfectly reasonable to wonder how someone could be "outraged" about a shot in the trailer using game assets to show a portal to Primal Earth, and call it "dishonest", and then say that using game assets to show Tyrant preparing for the invasion was ok, when it's exactly the same thing being used for exactly the same purpose - game assets being used to make the trailer more dramatic.

The Apex TF trailer - like lots of others trailers Paragon Studios has done - uses game assets to enhance the drama and excitement of the story they're showing - no one is being "lied" to or "cheated" or "wronged" in any way.

He was called out on his rather shallow efforts, and beat a hasty retreat - logic can have that effect on certain types

If using game assets to show Tyrant talking to his troops is ok to make the trailer more dramatic, then using game assets to show a portal to Primal Earth to make the trailer more dramatic is also ok - or else, they're both equally "dishonest" - one can't be good and the other bad, because they're exactly the same thing being used for exactly the same purpose.
  9. I'd like to be able to test this - but the test server isn't downloading the patch for it - it just stops at 2.5 mb, and nothing else happens.
  10. If the devs agreed to just let us reclor Hasten, I think that would satisfy a lot of people

Well, you're getting one new arc plus some more Tips in I19 - so some of the devs must be working on new red side stuff

So you're ok to be shown the "lie" of Tyrant talking to his minions, which never appears in the game, but you're shrieking about "dishonesty" for a shot of something that does appear in the game?

You mean you would prefer the standard TF opening? A window with a lot of written storyline? Would have looked real good at the opening of the trailer, don't you think?
No worse than having a text window talking about a portal to Primal Earth rather than showing one.
First you say it's ok to use game assets to show Tyrant preparing to invade, then you say it's wrong to use game assets to show one of the invasion portals

Last I knew I was talking about the Apex Task Force Trailer. If you want to discuss other things then start a different thread and I'll be happy too.
They're the same subject - the GR trailer uses stuff that doesn't happen in GR, just like the Apex TF trailer uses stuff that doens't happen in the TF.

Seriously, you actually expect me to know what they were thinking?
When you're accusing them of "dishonesty", I'm assuming that you must have a reason for it, unless it's simply gibbering paranoia.

That is just foolish GG. I can't even begin to know why you are defending a lie. Let me restate my problem - that clip is not in the TF, it is in another TF, that makes it a lie.
Just like the shot of Tyrant talking to his troops, which isn't even in the game at all?

And here's the GR launch trailer again:

    http://www.youtube.com/user/ncsoftno.../2/7l6ZsENF23Y

Just look at how many "lies" are in that - things that don't appear anywhere in the agme at all - and none of them seemed to cause the same anger at the cross-splice.

Granted, I wasn't as upset about it as Mr. GMan3 is, but that is probably at least partially because his friend was so upset. I know I would be more than a little embarrassed if the same thing happened to me.
So, as he was unable to give an answer, perhaps you can tell us what their reason for "lying" might be?
Or maybe you could also also point out the "trick" at the start fo the trailer, where Tyrant is shown giving his troops a pep talk, which not only doesn't appear in the Apex TF, it doesn't even appear in the game at all.

You might also like to watch the Going Rogue launch trailer, and spot just how many "lies" are in it too:

Even if I could though, this is supposedly the OFFICIAL website for the game. The info here should be clear, concise, and ACCURATE. I expect a little salesmanship inflation, I do not expect dishonesty.

As for why they did it? I have no idea why people make bad decisions. Happens all the time though.
Well, as there's no dishonesty going on, that would explain why there's no reason for it

Oh and we just lost another possible convert to this game. I was showing it off to him the other day when this trailer came out. He wanted to see it and said it looked awesome. Then he wanted to see the forum chatter on it (at which point I cringed because I had not looked at it yet). The one post pointing out that dishonesty dissuaded him from joining. It seems the last two MMO's he played did the same kind of crap and he didn't like it. He also didn't like how people couldn't have simple disagreements in the forums without all the rage, but that is a different subject all together and I won't go into it here.

  17. So how are they being dishonest when they went out of their way to point out that that shot was from the Tin Mage TF?
And you still haven't said why they'd try tricking anyone either - or what purposed it'd have.

Liking one part of one TF and putting it in the trailer for the other TF because you think it looks so good it dishonest.
Dishonest? Who excatly are they trying to trick, and for what reason?

You do know that the Tin Mage TF is inlcuded for free in the same Issue as the also-free Apex TF, don't you?
