It's a bonus for the downtime yesterday - it ends April 4th.

I saw the thread title, and thought that this was going to be slightly slashy

My take on the trailer is that Manticore represents changing alignments, good or evil, and Ghost Widow represents loyalty to your cause - like she's on those "undying loyalty" posters that appear in RV when the Villains are winning.
Or maybe the key to understanding Praetoria is Chimera and BV?

Quote:Black Scorpion mentioned the possibility of a paid-for Incarnate respec as something that they might possibly think about eventually sometime maybe in the future - for example, if you had a T4 Cardiac, but decided you'd prefer it to be T4 Spiritual, you could respec to get the components back from the Cardiac tree and use them instead to fill the Spiritual tree, or maybe just do a straight swap from one tree to the other. In regards to the horizontal expansion of Incarnate abilities, I think you need to be very concerned about taking one of the strengths of the system and turning it into one of the drawbacks.
I have often wondered why a feature like this was not added to the pre-50 game. Adding power choices to the various powersets and then making some of them exclusive to each other would have been a good way to offer breadth to the game and allow for a variety in user experience and preference (so, instead of 9 choices, each set might have 11, but you can only take 9 of the powers because. With the ability to respec, we had a reasonable method to alter the power structure as well.
With the current implementation of Incarnate abilities we do not have a true respec option. If I get the tier 4 Musculature or the tier 4 Clarion and then you release 4 new Alpha trees and 4 new Destiny trees, some of which may appeal to me more than my previously available choices, there is currently no way to change my mind. I have to regather and craft again. I understand that this system is partially loot based (for example, the same thing may happen anytime you release a new invention set, and I have not complained about this issue in that area of the game), but IMO, that may be too high a bar to set in the Incarnate system.
What were the "same old questions"? I think just about every question last night was new in some way. -

It's from the "visual sounds" April Fool thing from 2008 - you can read about it and the other ones here:

How did he get them when everything's gray to him?
Also, although I'm already 50, I feel very sorry for the newer players missing out on anymore XP, especially if they started in Praetoria and the XP runs out before they hit 20. -

Not sure why this was brought back up, but it's weird to post in a thread that was made before I even started playing

Generally, in Coh, "leadership" means inviting/calling contacts/selecting missions - giving orders isn't really part of the role, unless everyone gives their consent to it - like with the leader of a raid, for example.
In a normal team situation, the main thing the leader has to do is make sure the team is achieving the only really important goal in the game - which is having fun - and that's done best by getting feedback and opinions from the team about things like team balance, the pace missions are being done at and the basic tactics they might want to use.
It's also good to check if there are any new players on the team, or people doing the content you're running for the first time, as it can be easy to assume that everyone will know what to do.
It's also good if there's one or more new players on the team to drop or explain any game slang you might normally use, especially if it's not so common outside CoH - like "AT" instead of "class", for example. -
That seems kinda...uh, harsh on your part

Quote:Going by what they said in the chat, they seemed to be hinting that the Well is empowering Tyrant because it's afraid of the Coming Storm - that sounds like that whatever the Coming Stom is, it isn't powered by the Well.I meant in terms of villains and future threats. The way Arcana made it sound, the only way anything could become a cosmic threat is if the Well likes it enough to give it some power. Because apparently that's the only way anything can become powerful. Even though threats like the Coming Storm and Rularuu exist and would be much better tests of our Incarnate-hood.
I think the idea might be that we need to defeat the Well and take over from it as the main force opposing the Coming Storm. -
Quote:But that applies to all the TFs and story arcs - it's not really practical to have enough content so that players never have to replay any of itThat's not what he's saying at all. What other people have done doesn't matter. What matters is what you have done. If you've done the LGTF, I don't know that. As far as my characters are concerned, the LGTF has never been done. Every character's game experience is that character's own story, and in this character's story, the events of the LGTF haven't happened until I do the TF. But if I have already done it, I can't do it again and still have the story make sense.

They mentioned on the live chat tonight that they've talked about/planned a "limitless" number of ideas for Trials - like I said earlier, the system is open-ended - it never finishes.
