Quote:Wolves go for the throat, and use their own bodyweight as well as the natural reaction of their target to try and pull away from their bite to tear open a fatal wound - that's what their body shape is the way it is, and why making unnatural movements that go against it is such a dumb ideaI just can't help but feel that Sif should be using that speed and bulk to a greater advantage than he does with the sword.

Quote:It's the videogame version of rule 34 - no matter how idiotic something is, there'll always be people who like it - it's how terrible movies sometimes come close to making their budget back - there's no such thing as something that nobody likesPS: Did you read the video poster's comments? You know..."Awesome boss" and all that?

As it's so wildly popular, I'm assuming that the reason animals fighting with weapons in their mouths isn't seen more often in games is because most games simply can't handle that level of awesomeness.

It has 3 comments, and the animation is only at the "ok" level - which doesn't really hide the awfulness of the "fight"

Quote:That doesn't make the whole concept any less knuckle-draggingly moronic - quite the opposite
That clip just reinforces the fact that there are actually some things that are so bad, so absurd, so childish, so punishinly stupid, so toe-curlingly embarrassing and so stunningly half-witted that they wouldn't even look good in a comicbook game -
Quote:If you think I23 is "light", then you must have thought that I22 was also "light", as they're both about the same sizeThis. The saving grace of the new coop zone may be that it's in a relatively barren level range that's needed some leurve for a long time - but I don't hold my breath.

The amount of advertising for the Avengers could mean that it ends up being pretty front-loaded, while Nolan's take on Batman makes his movies "heavier", and more likely to have legs.

Warwolves, like most furries, are just basically humans with animal extras - they have human skeletons and human movements, so they can do the same things as humans.
-
Humans have 2 basic attack moves that are instinctive - the thrust, which ranges from a warning push to a full on punch using the explosive power of the arm muscles, and the swipe, which ranges from a slap to a swinging punch that replaces the explosive muscle power with the twisting momentum we can generate from our unique body shape.
A tool with sharp edeges and a sharp point is just an extension of these 2 movements, reducing the user's chances of hurting themselves and increasing the damage done to the target - the thrust becomes a stab, and the swipe becomes a slash.
Animals don't have the body shape or movement ability to do the same. -
Humans use swords as an extension of their natural fighting movements - that doesn't apply to 4 legged anaimals, who have their own fighting movements that suit their body shapes, which would be cramped by using a sword.

Quote:Just becasue the TORtanic is handing out free lifeboats after hitting their latest iceberg, that doesn't mean that better games need to follow their leadBut another MMO that is still rather new just gave subscribers a free day to make up for an unexpected downtime following a major release. I wonder if other MMOs may start to follow their lead...

Cimerorans use magic, but most of them are just natural warriors.
Menders are tech/science, but their usual method of time travel seems to be more magical.
Warworks are tech, along with the IDF - although the genetic manipulation of the IDF Commanders could make them semi-sceince too.
The Devouring Earth are mutants, although the Hamidon was created with a blend of science and dark magic.
All versions of the Carnies are heavily magical.
The only magic used by the Resistance are the Rune Soldiers in first Ward.
Malta are heavily tech.
Rularuu has a heavy magical feel, but the set up of the Shadow Shard has a big emphasis on science and tech, and seems more like an alien world to explore rather than a magical realm. -
You left out the Atlas Park revamp, and the Mercy Island changes, both of which didn't seem to focus much on magic, and in the case of Mercy with the removal of the Snakes and the increased Longbow stuff, it actually seemed to be a reduction in magic in favor of tech.

I ask because.....well let's just say it looks kind of suggestive.
